Will NEVER go back to polyester thread!!!
I have been an avid polyester thread user since starting quilting and sewing projects. It was cheap and available at my local craft stores. Boy, did I not realise what I was missing out on. I have a juki 2000 and a singer patchwork. So far I've only tried the aurifil 50 wt in my juki and I NOW UNDERSTAND what people meant by "My machine likes this thread" I get it!!! My juki doesn't sound like it's working as hard, and is much more quiet. The stitches are beautiful! The thread feels strong but half as thin as polyester so I imagine a 1/4 inch seam will be more accurate.. the bobbin will have alot more thread on it too so I won't have to change bobbins as often!! Will I use polyester again??? Heck no!!! I'm giving all of it away.. I know after only a couple minutes of sewing with aurifil, I will be a devotee!!! Now, the only problem was my thread came in 2 pieces sticking out so I had to wrap and tuck one piece under cutting in the middle to get an end of thread. For this damage alone I feel the price should be lowered, because I don't know when that thread will show back up to tangle whatever I'm sewing...

Don't use a size 12 needle
I've used Aurifil 50 wt for years for all my piecing and use either the 50wt or 40 wt for quilting. This 2600 was used in this quilt and as you can see, it's the perfect shade of gray for blending with a variety of colors. The description recomends using a size 12 needle, but that leaves a hole much too large for most quilt shop quality cottons. I order Schmetz Microtex size 70 needles in bulk, and change needles after eight hours of sewing.

Color matching.
Wonderful thread for piecing. Fine enough and neutral enough to be compatible with most fabrics.

My favorite thread!
Aurifil Mako 50 is my go-to for piecing, machine quilting, and binding. The 2600 (Dove) color is a great alternative to white as a neutral. It's a pale, almost silver-like gray. Like all cottons threads, it is linty, but super easy to clean off of your machine by plucking off the lint in between regular maintenance vacuuming at home. I often buy at local shops but sometimes they just don't have the color variety (or great price) that you can find online. For frequent online buyers, I'd recommend investing in Aurifil's color card so you know exactly what to expect when picking a color.

Good thread
I have been sewing with this thread and it works well. Doesn't break and runs smoothly through my machine. Have made many bobbins with no problems. Will use again.

Aurifil is the only thread a quilter should use
I am an avid quilter. I only use Aurifil thread for piecing my quilts and for quilting as well. I use it for both the bobbin thread and the top stitch Don't use any other thread. When I have used thread other than Aurifil I have been disappointed. Using Aurifil thread is one of the best ways to care for your machine.

Love it!
I recently did my first quilt with this thread. Love it!! It's very thin and so it tangles if you're using a spool holder but other than that, great product. There's so much on it -- I lost track of how many bobbins I filled and also quilted a queen-sized quilt (and pieced it) with one spool.
