Great quality for what I’m going to use it for. Assembly was a little tricky, but I figure it out. *Note to next buyer* it does NOT assemble on a flat surface (hitch tube, R & L frame). Once you lay it all out, insert bolts while flat (don’t tighten) them flip it to its side, with a slight bend and attach the top braces. Then tighten everything and done!!

Excellent product, well built and easy to assemble. 1. Empty contents of the box. 2. Separate the hardware. Following the part list. To save you time set the rack on the flour and assemble WITHOUT TIGHTENING THE HARDWARE. ( just barely connecting bolt to nut) Things to make easy. Make sure the reflectors are mounted so you will have center bar going in proper direction.

This item is such a great addition to my Subaru 😍. I can't say enough about the convenience of having extra room for storage. It's compact, easy to assemble, and the extra bonus, this keeps the tailgate lovers at a distance!! The first morning on my way to work in bad traffic, I was surprised at how the extra distance from the carrier made me feel even safer. The delivery was fast as well. One thing before ordering this or any additions to your car, make sure you get the right attachment if needed. I had to buy an adapter to fit the carrier. I have a class 1. The carrier is a class 2. Buy the adapter here because the Auto Stores will take a kidney for payment of one of theirs.

WE bought this for spring break to put our Yeti cooler on to take with us and our kids on our trip because the hotel we were staying at didn't have a fridge in.the room unless you paid $15 a night, We ordered this a little concerned about it being so cheap that it wouldn't be good quality. We were pleasantly surprised, it was a tad smaller than I expected but it worked perfectly, we didn't want it to drop down at all and we wanted one close to the car not hanging out a mile behind. It was sturdy and we had no problems and it was a great deal is we are pleased.

Excellent quality and fantastic price. Includes the hitch pin and rear red reflectors that you don't get with many more expensive carriers! I added fork mounts for my mountain bikes and its just as secure as a $400+ bike carrier from Thule or Yakima. Plus it can still haul cargo when I'm not biking!

Product arrived quickly and undamaged. Assembly is quick and intuitive using standard metric tools. Minor manufacturing quality issues: The racks had weld by-product trapped in the square tubes. I was able to remove most by gently tilting back and forth. Does not impact operation, but causes work area to become dirty. One of the through holes for the reflector was not deburred and preventing the reflector from passing through. Easily resolved by bending the burr back and forth a few times. Minor design issue: Reflectors are proud of the rack. When storing vertically in the garage, expect them to scratch, crack and fall off. Recommend to adjust design to recess reflectors, or just use reflective tape instead. Fits 2x2 hitch well with some play, as expected. For the price, still good value. Will update if item performs less than satisfactory on road trips.

Ordered the high quality MaxxHaul 70107 Hitch Mount Compact Cargo Carrier because I was tired of roof rack noise. The MaxxHaul carrier is silent behind my vehicle. One time I used it to haul off recycle materials. After a 30 minute ride to the recycle center every bag and tote was still in the exact same spot. I have a water proof bag for vacation travels and the MaxxHaul gets the job done. Assembly instructions are not very good but even a novice mechanic can figure it out.

Use it to haul shooting stuff, extra fuel, water, and anything else that is needed for my adventure. There are some reviews saying it does not come with and manual. Mine did. Though I did not read it. If you have even basic common sense you can figure it out. If you do have a heavy load make sure it is centered in the rack otherwise the rack will sit canted. Ok very all happy. Time will tell on durability. Update. Took it on a weekend adventure. Bashed it a couple times backing into trees and on rocks. Held up fine. It likes to collect mud but that's no problem.

I don't know how much better similar racks costing twice as much could be. This one seems to be sturdy and constructed well enough for intended use. There are some cosmetic flaws, but it's just going to have stuff loaded on to it and hauled around. The instructions were not superb, but again, good enough. I think I have 4 extra flat washers and 4 spring washers. I'm not sure if I should have used them as I couldn't find where they might go. One tip, don't tighten up all the bolts until the entire rack is loosely assembled. There is a lot of play between the hitch receiver and the rack, but even unloaded I did not hear any vibration or rattle while driving.

I used the MaxxHaul 70209 carrier bag with the MaxxHaul 70107 Hitch Mount Compact Cargo Carrier - 53" x 19-1/2" (Perfect fit); I also used the Cocoweb Chrome C-Lock Heavy Duty Locking 5/8" Inch Hitch Pin with Weather Guard Protection(A little extra cost but 2 of them means you don't come back and find your cargo carrier gone after a restful night in a hotel far from home); a Reese hitch extender/lift and two stabilizers(one on the hitch extender and one on the cargo carrier hitch attachment. I used the Winnerwell Anti Rattle Hitch Tightener for 1.25" and 2" Hitches on the extender and the Towever 84701 Super Corrosion Resistant Trailer Hitchs Tightener Stabilizer Cross Clamp No Wobble on the cargo carrier.) Stabilizers are pretty much essential on a cargo carrier. I had 7 different hotel rooms stays over the course of the trip. Didn't want to deal with the deafening wind noise from car topping the carrier bag and it's my understanding that the wind resistance also decreased the overall miles per gallon. (I'm all about comfort and cost savings if I can find the right nexus of them together.) Traveled well over 3000 miles across the country to Yellowstone in the middle of August. Encountered light Rain in Denver for about 45 mins and heavy rain in Oklahoma for about an hour. (The bag had a little water and dirt residue on top from the road, car and rain but everything inside remained completely dry.) Unpacked and repacked each hotel stay 4 medium suitcases, 2 sleeping bags 3 pillows (Heaviest/widest bags to the bottom laying flat provides more stability and stacking two by two suitcases laying flat helps the shaping of the carrier bag.) Straps included are plenty long. Once top ones are connected to the bag they don't need to be taken out. Easy adjustment between top and bottom by lifting buckle. Easy removal from carrier by lifting buckle so feeder cable slides through. Lift zip flap, unzip and lay cover back. No need for an additional ratchet strap or anything. The extender with lift allows the carrier bag to not be exposed to your exhaust tubes and also allows you to lift your rear door if using with a SUV hitch. I found it easier and more attractive to simply have the bag face the vehicle. The blank black side then faces rearward so you're not a traveling advertisement for MaxxHaul.(Though I like their product I simply do not like being a walking/driving billboard). The zipper opens facing the vehicle rather than the rear but with the cargo carrier on the extender hitch you have enough room to sit in your SUV and peak into bag/bags without everyone behind you seeing what you are looking for. (Not being weird but if I'm looking for my charging cable in my suitcase really quickly I don't want everyone seeing all my colored undies :-)) There is one thing I had to work on and a suggestion I would make to the manufacturer to make their product pretty nigh perfect. Once cinched down tight the straps tend to trail too long to the ground. Top and bottom buckle are related as far as strap length but even the best placement still meant some straps trailed. I folded them up and tied them back onto the strap using some rubber covered bending wire but some simple velcro straps at the end can easily solve this issue. This kept them snug while on the move and prevented strap flapping in the wind. Great overall set of products that helped make the trip more enjoyable by allowing the kids to stretch their legs a bit more in the cabin and reduce incidents between younger siblings.
