Very Nice general use Printer

I have owned this printer now for three weeks and based on it's performance I am happy with my purchase. I will issue a disclaimer that I have not used or tried all functions possible but for printing off the internet or making photo copies from a book the quality is a good or better than the $900 Lexmark T644 I use as work. The high resolution print is sharp with strong deep blacks and accurate shades of grey. The two sided printing works very well. We use this at home and the speed is fast and more than satisfactory. I use the USB 2.0 for hook-up and not the wireless connect. Setup was easy following the quick guide and setup wizard disk included in the box. The printer manual recommends using no more than 24 pound paper but we have used the thicker 28 pound paper with excellent results. No jams or mechanical issues yet. On the negative side this printer is louder than the Lexmark referenced above when printing but I knew that when buying. After printing it quickly goes into a sleep mode and stays quiet until used again. I bought this for the high resolution 1200 X 1200 dpi and fast printing capabilities and it did not disappoint. Recommended+++

Just like a pro and Extremely Reliable

UPDATE: It has now been almost THREE years and it is still working like a champ! It is a central engine of my personal life. UPDATE: It has been over a year and it is still working like a champ! =============== I feel like my little basement office is a professional enterprise level office with this thing. I just use it as a copy machine and it is fabulous. Prints fast, document feeder works great, a real workhorse. Excellent cost per copy, excellent copy quality, lots of controls on the menu. Update: Have been using heavily for over a year and still works like a champ! Have been using with wired connection. It is the best printer I have ever had.

Best money I've spent on a multi-function device.

After several nightmares with HP inkjet printers that the printheads or cartridges would dry up, software drivers would stop working, alignment would fail and not recalibrate I called a local ink and toner refill vendor and asked for their recommendation for a reliable multifunction printer for low volume use. They recommended Brother and I selected this model. EVERYTHING works! There is nothing more frustrating than needing to print and having to troubleshoot the printer EVERYTIME you need to print. That was my life with HP products. No more! The only negative is that this is not a color printer, but I don't care - because it WORKS!

Excellent Printer

We bought this for our office and just love it. Fast time to first page out, very fast printing. Very fast scanning with the document feeder as well. Everything just works. With the recent $50 price drop, I'm going to purchase one for home. The genuine brother consumables are priced fairly well, and the "aftermarket" consumables are suuuper cheap and are getting excellent reviews here on amazon. You really can't go wrong with a brother, IMO they are making the highest quality MFC monolasers right now. I can't speak about their other printers but we also purchased an MFC-7860DW for our shop and it works just as well as this one, except the speeds are slower and it is smaller. Wireless printing compatibility with airprint, google print, etc is nice too. This thing is an absolute workhorse for a bargain price - get it and you won't be disappointed.

Wife loves the air print for recepies. & I love the small amount of ink use & Speed of printing!

Love this printer & since it's laser wedon.'t worry about using ink by having it dry up from sitting or when replacing cartridge having to line yo set print quality evergytime, no kore. Just replace toner "& go. Still Have not had to replace it yet. &. Print. Is very sharp. My wife searches for receptors k& since the printer is downstairs she ,just hits print on the iPad & with air print her receipt is ready for her to pick up. No more jotting note s on pieces of paper, She loves the air print featur & have. Not had any issues with the printer. Just wish they would come up eith one that would print great photos & graphics.

Excellent printer

I bought the 2270DW before I bought this one however I did not like it . It was loud and I could not get it to work with my ipad . With Amazon excellent customer service I was able to send it back with no problems. Just love this company. Now back to this printer. I can not said enough about this wonderful printer. It work well with my ipad. It's quiet and I like the deep sleep mode feature which mean I never have to turn the printer on and off from the power button. If you thinking about buying a quality printer this is the one . Trust me you will not be disappointed.

Good replacement

I was fed up with inkjet since the printer sits idle for long periods. This is a nice, medium-level machine for a small/home office. It works very well on my home network without Wi-Fi. Not a lot of bells and whistles, but good B/W functions. The footprint is small enough to work on my corner desk. This unit is a bit noisy when printing, so it should be placed away from the desk if it's going to get heavy use.

A printer I can run all day!

Love this printer! It makes fast copies and pulls evenly. I have been copying medical records (800 charts) and this printer has been reliable and economical to use with generic replacement cartilages. Highly recommend this product!

Good printer

I like the low cost per page of the consumables and the fast print time. Startup power has not been a problem for me. Yes, it's a bit noisy when printing, but it gets that done quickly and then quickly quiets down. This is my first home laser printer, I have plainly gotten tired of the constant ink cartridge nagging and replacements with the inkjet printer. This should be much better.

Great laser printer!

I got tired of the cost of HP's inkjet cartridges. This is our first laser printer & our first Brother printer. I'm very happy with it! Very fast printing. Cartidge will do 3000 sheets. I use the Airprint feature from my Ipad & Iphone 4s & it works perfectly. I highly recommend it.
