This is AMAZING. After using run of the mill magnetic cleaners and wand style steel bladed scrapers on my glass tank, I had gotten to the point where I was not looking forward to glass duty. It's messy and only marginally effective. I received this in the morning, placed it in the tank, and 5 minutes later, all my glass was clean. DONE. It WORKS. This is only useful for flat pane tanks. I don't think this would work well at all with rounded panels of any kind. It does come with both a stainless steel and plastic scraper attachment so you can scrape your plastic walls as well. I highly recommend you pull this out of your tank after use. It will last much longer. Whatever you do, don't leave the the side with the blade pressed up against the wall. I can imagine this would ruin the precise angle and pressure being applied over time.

It doesn't float... And that's the only down side. Sinks faster in fresh water than salt water so in fresh water you have to be fast and have a low flow area to flip it. Once you get the hang of flipping it (blade pointed down when flipping) it's not bad. It's not as strong as algeafree cleaners but it cost less. The scrub pad is very good. I removed the scub pad and glued cork between the pad and the flipper to make it float as I use mine in many tanks. Scarper side is great. Over all very good. Once you get it to float even better. Use a heat gun to remove scrub pad and the thinnest cork you can find if you want it to float.

If you are reading this you are wondering if this is worth the money. Absolutely. I used to dread cleaning my 220 acrylic tank until I got this. It is fast has never scratched my tank anywhere and takes half the time. If you stir up a bunch of substrate and then proceed to clean your tank and scratch it that’s on you not the product. I would also say that If you have the thicker acrylic you should pony up and by the bigger one. It feels a little weak on my tank, again not the products fault I should have bought the bigger one. The glass scraper that is included works excellent as well on my 75gal and literally takes half the time it did before and even if you skip a week here or there one pass and it’s clean!

If you are thinking about getting it and havent, order it now!! One of the best investments you will make! No more dealing with cheap magnets that disconnect while you are moving around. This magnet is strong. The scrubber and scraper are fantastic!! I cannot praise this enough. I have been in the hobby for over 20 years and by far this is the best product of its kind out there. Dont be like me stop procrastinating and order it.

Works great as an algae remover. The stainless blade is more of a thin metal piece vice a razor blade. It is not sharp, just at an angle that assists in removing the tough stuff. Be careful when using blade below gravel as it can pick up the gravel and on the back stroke scratch the glass. I have to turn it sideways to dump the gravel which works good. It takes practice to flip it like they tell you to. Must remove magnet away from glass turn then put back to glass before it falls to the bottom. Has slim design to get in tight places, which won't allow them to be able to make it boyant. If there was a down side I would have to say, I wish they could make it float or at least stand upright when it becomes detached from the glass to make it easier to get back. All in all the best algae remover I have used.

The tool worked OK. I have a 65gal glass tank and the tool worked as advertised. The first few scrapes didn't clean the algae right away, but after a few zig-zag glides the glass slowly cleaned up. Funny my tangs and cleaner shrimps went crazy fighting for the algae scraps... My tank glass is less than .5in that the two magnetic pieces were strongly drawn to each other and I needed a little elbow grease to glide it back and forth. When the tool ran over algae stains, you can hear the metal blade scratching the algae. When the tool ran over clean glass, you can't hear anything so its a good indication that the cleaner tool worked. In the long run, does the metal blade scratch the glass? I'm not sure, but I'll keep any eye on algae growing in streak patches. Overall, the tool is great if you don't want to get your hands wet.

This is the best algae scraper/cleaner ever made. I had green algae on all sides of the glass of my tank and I had let it go for so long so it was caked on so much that my Mag-Float couldn’t even scrape off. However, the Flipper (the razor blade side) took care of it like a beast. My tank looks like new again and the glass and water is crystal clear. The Flipper is the best aquatic investment I’ve ever made. The price is a little steep and I only see paying $40 for an algae scraper as a last resort, as was the case with me. Overall, it’s a great product that works like a charm and I highly recommend it, especially for that caked on, stubborn algae that just won’t go away with those cheap, alternative algae scrapers/cleaners.

I have a saltwater bow front tank. And as all of you bow front users know, getting a scraper of any sort for this kind of aquarium is impossivle, nothing is shaped for it, except for this thing. The scraper works like magic on my bow front. usually I had to detach a scraper from the long arms of other scrapers and put my hand in the tank. But that's not needed anymore. This thing is a must have, I know the price is steep but you won't regret it

I've had aquariums for 20+ years, and these are one of my favorite product developments over than time. My only "complaint" is that the Nano version of the Flipper has a little bit of difficulty getting off all the tough, coralline algae, since the magnet is smaller and it doesn't press quite as firmly to the glass as the standard size does. The standard one takes everything off my 14 gallon Nano tank with no trouble, so I would recommend that size unless you have a truly itsy bitsy aquarium (under 5 gallons). Compared to the magnet cleaners without blades, these are waaaay less prone to damaging your aquarium. Most people cause scratches by getting sand or gravel caught under the cleaning surface of the other style of algae scraper and rubbing it around without realizing, but other than the cleaning blade and two small plastic "buttons" on this, most of this device doesn't even touch the interior glass, so it's harder to get gritty pieces lodged against the glass while you're cleaning. Just be gentle when scraping near corners to avoid damaging the glass or silicone. (It's harder to scratch the glass with these, but it's possible if you go around a curved edge or a corner too aggressively. It is metal, after all.) I know a lot of people who just keep this stored in their tanks for convenience, but the blades will last longer if you keep them clean and dry. This is especially important if you have saltwater tanks, since even stainless steel eventually corrodes when exposed to saltwater for long periods. If you do leave it in your tank, I'd suggested positioning it high enough that the blade rests above the surface of the water. You will have to change the blades from time to time, but the replacements are reasonably priced, and they're easy to switch out.

I had no idea a scraper like this could exist, let alone work so well. I just assumed a bladed scraper had to be done by hand since magnets couldn't hold it along the glass strongly enough. Boy was I wrong! If you are like me and find cleaning something perfectly to be very satisfying I highly recommend buying this. Initially I was hesitant because of the price but after using it ONCE I was completely sold. It chips coraline off the glass like it was nothing. The magnet is extremely strong. I haven't had to flip it because I also use other magnet cleaners so I can't comment on the felt side just yet. But the blade makes this 100% worth the purchase if that's all it was.
