THE "QUEST" FOR THE PERFECT LONGBOARD
If you're confused like I was in trying to find the perfect board and are reading my review on the quest longboard congratulations because you may just have found the one for you.Take it from someone so driven to have the best longboard that he literally spent hours and hours..some days until four in the morning just researching the right one. If you're looking for something to freestyle, something to cruise, do some downhill, and maybe even use to commute at college then THIS IS THAT BOARD GUYS!!! It does it all!! Now if you're like me you don't wanna just hear another random dude just brag about how much this board is great without any extra notable details. The board is made up of multi maple wood and artisan bamboo which is not only a sturdy, strong deck, but is also lightweight for a 44in board. As far as the 70mm polyurethane wheels they roll smoothly and aren't bad at all, but if you're like me and maybe want something a little faster and smoother and if you have a flexible budget I would recommend replacing it with the orangatang in heat 75mm wheels, if that's too expensive then an alternative can be the OJ III wheels. As for the bearings I never use stock bearings anyway just because they never roll like I want it to, if you take the bearing out of the wheel and roll it with two of your fingers it will probably barely move. Now keeping the bearings in will not hurt, but if you want better performance of with the reds bones bearings, they're meant for skating in my opinion and surpass the abec rating. As for the trucks, these are pretty decent trucks, some on here say they are bad trucks and that just isn't the case they may be cheap but they get the job done. However if you're not satisfied with them I do have some options. If you're looking for something that's super durable in extreme weather, stable for high speeds, and is very responsive go for the caliber 44. Another alternative is the Paris 180 which is its rival and the bear 152 grizzlies. The Bear 152s are underrated in that they give you the best of both worlds. Just by flipping the hanger you can have a very fast stable ride or a very responsive, carvy cruise. As for the bushings I'm not exactly sure what the heck the size is on here but I would guess somewhere under 86 which is good. One thing that a lot of sites and articles don't tell you about bushings is how important they are. If you don't know bushings are either the cone or barrel shaped rubbery things in your trucks that's attached to the kingpen. They can ultimately be the difference in have a smooth, lovely ride to a uncomfortable, nightmarish roller-coaster wreck. As for the style of the deck it isn't too flashy, but simple which I like. So yes again this is an awesome board. You don't find longboards around this price range that have goods specs like this and can compete with the big boys on the market. I really hope I helped you and if you took the time to read this thank you and thank yourself as well because I promise you..you definitely did yourself a service!!!

Amazing longboard deck!!!
The trucks and wheels are usable too, but this deck is really nice!!! Stiff enough to go fast and do tricks, but still flexible enough to dampen road vibrations. I can't believe how nice this is for the price. Like the fancier graphics? Trust me, even at $80 this is a steal... I actually bought it just for the deck to make an electric longboard, and it totally exceeded my expectations. Also, I'm a real longboarder with close to 30 boards in my quiver. This is a great deck, with an excellent nose and kicktail, and it has a nice edges to lock in your feet... Also, there is plenty of room to drill new holes and move the rear trucks back another 2 inches, which is what I did... I'll have a how to video up on YouTube in the next week if you'd like to see what I did...

Great Starter Board
*Update 7/25/2018* Today I bought and installed some Bones Reds because ... hype. I ordered a set with Speed Cream, washers and spacers for twenty bucks. I did this because the ride felt a touch slow to me. I’m already feeling a pretty decent improvement. One small push gets a lot more coasting for my efforts. It isn’t gonna change your life, but it does improve the ride. Note that you do NOT need to order a set of bearings with washers and spacers like I did. There are perfectly good spacers already in the wheels. The washers, I did use over what’s on the board though. Two per wheel instead of the stock one per wheel. Prolly unnecessary. The stock bearings on the board are machine pressed. You can’t remove the metal shields without destroying said shields. The bearings will still work without them though. Just noisy and prone to dirt. That’s if you’re thinking you’d like to just clean and lube the stock bearings instead of investing in new ones. Anyway, hope this helps. Best of luck! *End Update* This is a pretty great longboard. It’s easy to ride out of the box and a solid starter/beginner board. Basically all of the Top 5 Star reviews are dead on, so I won’t repeat what they said. What I’d like to make a point of here is the size and wheel truck spread. My attached pic shows the Quest next to my Penny Nickel. You can see the visual difference. I kinda feel like the trucks could be a little further apart especially on a 44” board, but it really isn’t all that necessary. It’s really stable as is and a sweet ride. Get one!

Perfect for middle-aged men with bad knees wanting to hold on to what little youth they have left!
This has been a great board so far. I'm 6'2" and i shop in the husky section, so I was initially concerned about the board supporting my weight, but I've had no issues with it to date. The trucks were a bit wobbly for my liking initially, but once I got them dialed in we were good to go. I mainly use it for cruising the neighborhood and chasing my son around while he's playing outside. More advanced riders might want to upgrade the bearings and/or wheels if you're looking for a little more performance, but I'm built for comfort, not optimal aerodynamics. That said, I have taken it down some hills in the neighborhood and it will pick up speed even with my doughy frame. The neighbors also seem to find it amusing to watch a middle aged man cruising around on a skateboard with his shaky knees and gray hair, but whatever. Considering that I haven't died on it, and it hasn't splintered under my massive frame, I'd say this was a solid purchase. (Pun Intended).

Great Beginner Board
I'm a forty-something woman who's recently got into long boarding. I'm still a novice - maybe 10 hours total on a board, but I've picked it up well enough and am comfortable cruising around town - no speed or downhills, just casual "strolls", so my review comes from that perspective. Going out to visit my two nephews (8 & 17) I wanted to introduce them to long boarding - they have no experience with skateboards - so looked for some nice entry level boards - not to cheep so they had a solid opportunity to learn, but not too expensive if they just don't get into it. I had three boards sent to them (one for me to play on, too!): Krown Wood Sunset Complete Pintail (because I just love the aesthetics of this style) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003DVATUE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Quest Super Cruiser Kick Tail https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008EZNY4W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Xtreme Drop Down https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014DSOPK0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 At home I ride a nice Gold Coast pin tail that I picked up at a local shop so that's what I have to compare these three with and to start I can say, I paid twice as much for the Gold Coast than for any of the three listed above, and you can tell the Gold Coast is a better quality board, however, that said, for the price I was really happy with all three boards. From a beginner's perspective these are all great boards to start with. The bearings and wheels were good - no, not as good as what's on my Gold Coast, but for half the price I'm happy. To get to some of he specifics... The Krown Wood arrived warped which is why I only gave it three stars. In it's defense, when I road it, I really didn't notice any problems, but the board is a pretty significant part of the complete set and I feel, even at $70 the board should be right. The Xtreme Drop Down ended up being my favorite to ride, but that was mostly because I liked the drop down set up. The paper on the board did seem to scrape off pretty easily, but I won't ding them for that - cheeper quality goods kept the price down so I could get the boys into new toys. The Quest Kick Tail was just all around solid - not warped, paper seemed to stay on it, but it probably saw the least use of the three while I was there. In summary, as a beginner I can say all three are great beginner boards. A little disappointed with the Krown Wood's warped board as it doesn't really give them that board to build on if they want to upgrade a little at a time, but for the price I'd highly recommend any to get started.

I can stand! And skate from the first push!
I a 5'4, about 160lbs, young woman. I have never really skateboarded or longboarded, besides trying out my friends boards from time to time. THIS board is smooth, very good at turning (trucks came loose), and sturdy (easy to keep your balance). It is long and wide, but it shouldn't be an issue after getting used to riding this board. So far 3 people have tried the board and they absolutely love it (2 skateboarders and 1 longboarder). They all say it's the smoothest ride they've experienced. The board isn't flexible ( I thought this would be an issue, but it doesn't bother me because the board rides so well). Overall, it has been 3 days and I rode the board on blacktops, boardwalks and sidewalks. All has been a pleasant experience. This board seems to be well made, is stable and smooth. I'd recommend this board for anyone (if you are as tall as me, as the board is long and will be too long for smaller people). Note: the trucks are plastic. Wheels are quiet. Please feel free to ask any questions, as I know I had lots before ordering. Photo coming soon.

Fat Dude Learns to Board... kinda.
Fun times with my kids. My son loves skateboarding (10) my daughter loves riding a scooter or single gear bike (7). They always want dad to go. I don't want to get my mountain bike down and my foot doesn't fit on the scooters. I got a long board. Important details: 1 - I think I skateboarded a few times when I was 8 years old. I'm 36 now. 2 - I'm moderately active, I ski, play tennis, lift weights, etc. but I do NOT run or cycle. 3 - I'm 255 to 210 lbs. The low is when I've been working out and eating like a rabbit. So, the board holds up. I'm heavy, more muscle than fat (but just barely). Had to tighten down the trucks and screws so it wasn't too wobbly for my bulky body, but it works well.

Well worth the money
This is a great board for the money. Don’t expect it to be the smoothest ride ever for $40. I added some better bearings and bushings and it rides great. I haven’t skateboarded in years and thought I’d get back into it with a longboard. This board did not disappoint. If you’re new to skating and looking for a cheap board that is still fun to ride then this is the board for you. It’s big enough to be a sturdy ride with soft wheels to make it roll over rough roads (and off curbs) well. I would recommend putting some better bushings in that are better suited to the way you ride. The stock bushings are really hard cones. I put in a medium barrel board side and a softer cone for the roadside and it made a huge difference.

The answers to all your questions and more!
Scroll to Bottom for TLDR Review LOL I guess I should preface this by saying that I have been riding skateboards, rip stiks, inline skates and anything else involving wheels and bearings since i was but a wee lad and i'm currently 28 years old 5'7" 145lbs. These days I pretty much only ride longboards but I ride them in combination with Miami public transit every day to get to and from work over a stretch of about 6 miles, sometimes I only skate a few blocks, sometimes I skate the whole 6 miles. I bought this board with many questions still up in the air but after doing a lot of research. I also own the Rimable 41" drop through also sold on amazon and would like to answer a lot of questions that I couldn't find the answers to before I bought it. Lets look at the different parts of the board one at a time and compare. I'm going to gear this mostly toward beginners since I don't imagine there are many experts cruising amazon for longboards but you guys should still be able to skim through and get the important points The RIDE: (most important) This board rides really nice out of the box. however that doesnt meant anything to you if you have no base line to compare it to. The ride of this board overall is very smooth but a beginner may be set back by the top mount setup. The fact that the trucks are mounted like a normal trick skateboard makes the deck higher off the ground than that of a drop through or drop deck longboard, this allows for deeper turns and creates a completely different feel while moving. beginners may say that its too wobbly and want to tighten the trucks, but intermediate riders or those familiar with the mechanics of riding a rip stik or even a surfboard would call it a surfy, feeling like riding on water. that is the aspect that I love most about top mount boards, the flowy feeling and very precise turning response that you get from having more ground clearance and top mount trucks. with a drop through deck, you can't turn as sharply because of ground clearance and different hardware but are much more stable while riding due to lower center of gravity as well as a more gradual turning feeling similar to riding a bike. The deck: This is the wooden part of the board, not including trucks, wheels or any other hardware. This deck is absolutely beautiful. The pictures don't fully express the shiny finish on the bottom with the simple design accenting the natural grain of the bamboo. That fact alone has me in awe of the price of this board. I was joking with a friend of mine and he was laughing at the fact that you cant even buy a decent set of wheels and bearings at most skate shops for the price of this complete board set up and he's right. it's ridiculous, especially considering the quality of the parts included. that being said, this deck is relatively stiff as far as flex goes i'd give it maybe a 2 out of 10 flexibility. the deck has a very (very) slight camber, meaning the center of the board curves up a bit in relation to the nose and tail (not including the height of the kick fins. ) this serves a few purposes it allows the board to hold more weight without sagging in the middle and provides more room for flex on carves (though this deck is pretty stiff you probably wont flex much unless you're above 160 lbs) the deck is the bread and butter of this board and definitely where they spend most of the money in the manufacturing costs for this product. the grip tape fully covers the top and thus far has had no issues whatsoever. seems to be high quality and has great traction even when wet. Wheels and bearings: the wheels on this board are mid-range as far as hardness goes for longboard wheels and are great all around wheels for the average person riding around. they have great traction due to large contact patch and beveled edges. those looking to slide or try out some other technical maneuvers will want to look into butterballs or another slide formula wheel. The bearings are ABEC 7. If youve done your homework you hopefully know by now that the ABEC rating means almost nothing when it comes to skate bearings and is mostly hype, there are many other factors that go in to choosing the right bearings and that is a review for another time. however, right out of the box these bearings perform pretty well, they arent the fastest, they seem to be lubed with something on the heavier side, providing reat protection but maybe sacrificing some of the speed. my one complaint about the bearings is that they are 608 bearings with pressed in (non removable) metal shields. while they perform well out of the box, especially after a little break in, they will need to be replaced if you are a daily rider like me as it is much harder to clean and relube bearings with pressed in shields, i'd recommend picking up a set when you buy this board so you have something ready when these ones kick the bucket. especially since you can get some great bearings for under 20 bucks that have removable shields and are easy to clean and maintain. the bearings came installed with spacers and 8 speed rings, 4 on the inside between the hangar and inside bearing and 4 on the outside between the outer bearing and wheel nut so there is really no need to buy these. Trucks and hardware: trucks are solid, i've already found myself sliding in a 50-50 on a painted curb as i tried to avoid a telepohone pole on the narrow side of the sidewalk towards the street and escaped it with nothing but some minor scratches. I'll probably change out the bushings on this board for some stiffer ones, but then again I have yet to see a complete board come with stellar bushings. the included ones are easily rideable for a long time if you're not getting technical. When i got the board the trucks were just a tad on the loose side but that is personal preference, I would recommend anyone who buys a longboard get a skate tool with it so you can adjust for your style, I also tightened up the truck mount bolts as well because i had a tiny bit of wiggle in there. other thoughts: the kick nose and tail on this board are sweet, this is personal preference of course but sometimes when you cant turn quick enough its nice to be able to step on the tail and pivot out of the way or lift the front wheels to get over a big bump without having to get off the board. The wheelbase on this board is shorter than i expected this is not really a good or bad thing just worth mentioning, the shorter wheelbase provides better turning response but also makes the center of the board a little stiffer. for a 44" i would have though the wheels would be further apart and I may take it to a shop to have another set of truck mount holes drilled so that i can see what it feels like if i move the rear truck back a few inches. to put it in perspective, the wheelbase on the quest 44" is just under 27" still in the longboard wheelbase class of course but shorter than the rimable 41" dropthrough which has a wheelbase of 33" (my wheelbase mesurements are wheel nut to wheel nut) overall a great board, ive already recommended it to a friend looking to longboard! TLDR Review points -Amazing finish on the deck -Very slight camber -About 2 out of 10 flexibility (pretty stiff) -comes preinstalled with 4 spacers and 8 speed rings -love the kick nose and tail -surfy water ride feeling and great turn response with tight radius -ABEC 7 bearings with non removable shields -get a skate tool so you can adjust this board to your style hope this helped, feel free to contact me with any other questions, i ride it every day.

I was looking for a board that could handle my weight and ride with easy or worry
Exactly what I was looking for. I am a big guy 6'3 250. I was looking for a board that could handle my weight and ride with easy or worry. I also didn't want to spend a lot on a board since I haven't road in like 20 years. I love how it is like a traditional skateboard with the curves and a tail. I wasn't to crazy about the flat longboards that have no tail. The wheels give a nice soft feel on the street. The bearings are the only thing I would think of upgrading. I was a little worried about the trucks because I am used to having heavy duty independent trucks back in the day. But they are holding up well. They are very loose so I had to tighten them pretty tight. All and all I am very satisfied with my purchase and look forward to nice rides on my cruiser. Doesn't hesitate to try for the price. You won't be disappointed.
