Works well. I purchased the Arm & Hammer bags, which fit perfectly. Both the bin and rake are durable. I did not find any issues with the rake being flimsy as mentioned in some other reviews. I've used the rake to extract some days old, stuck in the grass stool, and the rake does the job well. The bin holds a fair amount of waste. I have a bad back and can't lean that much. The height of the handles makes this item easy to use without having to lean. The plastic clip holds the rake to the bin's handle securely. Nothing has broken on this set yet. I leave it outside in the weather, and it still looks new. Highly recommend!

With three dogs, two small and one large, scooping the yard is a never ending job. But with the Arm $ Hammer swivel bin and rake, there is no more bending to pick of the doggy droppings. I am able to easily use the rake to push the droppings into the bag covered bin. When I am done cleaning up the yard, I just simply remove the plastic bag from the scoop, tie it off, and dispose. I do spray the rake off with the hose sprayer and then clip the rake onto the scooper for easy storage. I really like this handy scooper. It makes a very icky job much easier to handle.

Okay, I have 4 small dogs and this is the first pooper-scooper type equipment I've invested in....unless you count the latex gloves that I have stooped to (literally, stooping to pick up the doo doo) or my lawnmower (no it didn't work, yes I'm ashamed for trying). Never again! This little rake and bucket thing is a life changer. I was so excited I called my daughter out to watch me "doo" it, well, she refused (ugh, teenagers!). But seriously, you just use the rake and knock the little poops into the bucket, its like magic, no bending, no little shovel, no face right next to the doo doo collection bucket, its just a clean easy way to clean up my lawn. I will allow that it is a very light-weight plastic but it is actually pretty sturdy and I like that it isn't too heavy to carry around my yard. My dogs are fairly small (mini doxies and chihuahuas) so they aren't dropping lumber jack logs or anything, so I'm not sure how it would hold up to that. I'm guessing if you wait until they dry out a bit it would be fine on giant doos. It came with a couple of perfect little arm & hammer bags but I'll try a grocery store sack next because other reviews say that works fine. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is: Just wow. Buy this. Buy this right now.

Oh my gosh. I can't believe I waited so long to buy one of these. I just wasn't sure how necessary it was, especially when I have had to buy so many other things for my now ten-month old pup-- tons of dog grooming supplies, tons more training tools, toys and treats... Surely my method of small garden shovel and bag was good enough, I didn't need yet another "thing". But it took a while and got to be pretty tiresome, especially when I'm only out there once or twice a week. Doody rolling off the shovel before making it into the bag and whatnot... I'd finally had enough. So now though; which one to buy? I obviously settled on this one, and love it so much that I do not foresee buying any other ones to compare it to. But here is what I love. It seems very sturdy, I've been able to do the job every 4-5 days with only the one fill-up and with a 60+lb pup, that still gets a tad heavy. My favorite thing about this scooper is how I can attach regular grocery store bags to the little slots on the outside. Keeps the whole process neat and tidy and I don't have to buy any kind of special bag to make that happen. I know a couple of reviewers had mentioned otherwise, but it really couldn't be simpler. Unless this whole contraption were metal, I don't see how it could be improved. And in that case I would expect to pay quite a bit more so I'm very happy with it as is.

The greatest inventions/discoveries of mankind: fire, the wheel, electric light bulb, and this poop scooper. I have two cardigan welsh corgis. Corgi is Celtic for "small dog that poops mountains." Before acquiring this product I tried all manner of solutions for the poop peril in our back yard. 1) I painted the poops to look like nuts, in hopes squirrels would tote them off to their homes. 2) This past Easter I offered to let folks in the neighborhood "Search for special chocolate treats." 3) I trained the dogs to use the toilet, but this became an issue when I needed to "go" and the dogs were always in there reading Dog Digest. However, one day, while searching Amazon - which has everything one needs and THEN some - I came across this item. Maybe it was because I searched for a book titled, "101 Ways to Get Rid of Dog Poop." I read the reviews and, trusting the judgment of my fellow poop removers, I decided to try this. The only thing that could make this better would be if it were attached to a robot that wandered the yard retrieving the evil little piles of stink pudding. I must, in all honesty, say that the handles are a little short. I'm 6' 4" and have to stoop just a bit to use this. It would also be nice if the handles were made of wood - perhaps a nice cherry wood with intricate carvings of the ancient Egyptian god "Poop Rah." Lastly, the plastic shopping bags one gets at almost every store work just perfect in this thing. One can easily bag a sack full of poop and dispose of it by whatever means suitable. Good luck with your poop scooping. This product will not disappoint. Unless you are trying to clean up cow poo, in which case you're gonna need a bigger bucket and rake.

After spending the first few months of dog ownership bending over and picking up dog poop with a gloved hand, I have to say this is a hug back saver. I'm 6'3", so the handles on these are just a bit shorter than I would prefer, but it's still WAY better than going by hand. The little rake is easy to handle, and the tines are smooth on the surface, which makes it easy to clean them off by just rubbing them along the grass when you're done. The bucket's #1 feature is the ability to use standard plastic grocery bags as liners. If this had required special bags that would've been at least one star off. We use Kroger bags, and they're very easy to loop the handles over the hooks and press the bag down into the bucket. The bucket's capacity is the only drawback for us. We have a 6-month old Bernese / Golden pup eating 6 cups of dog food a day as of right now. She poops a LOT. We try to go out every few days to clean the yard, and in that time she's produced enough that we have to use three bags, which means stopping part way through to swap the bag. I'm not taking off a star for this, though, since making the bucket hold a larger capacity would mean the grocery bags wouldn't fit any more. We'll probably just have to get a larger capacity one soon. But overall, this set is exactly what we needed, and I couldn't recommend it strongly enough. Great product.

I used to buy dogipot waste bags. That can get expensive when you have three large dogs like I do. I scoop as much poop as I can until the swivel bin is about half full, dump it into a trash bag, and continue until the back yard/front yard is spotless and clean. The rake is fabulous for collecting poop when my dogs choose to go in the rocks we have surrounding the pool or the palm trees. Fabulous product and well worth the money.

There are some things in life that you set out to do, those life goals like get a job, be successful, have a family, etc. I think it's safe to say that nowhere near the top of that list, or middle for that matter, is "Review a pooper scooper on Amazon". Yet, here I am finding myself doing just that very thing. How did I find myself here, well for years I have done the shovel, small garden spade method. Let me tell you with two 50+ Norwegian Elkhounds they can be poop factories - but it was what I used and never thought different. Then one day, after a particularly fragrant gift from one of my four legged friends I sought out a better way because my gag reflex just could not stomach it any longer. That, and the neighbor who came to my backyard to see what small animal was dying due to all the noise. I am not ashamed to say I researched pooper scoopers. I looked at all manner of them. From the open top rake method, to those fancy claw machine contraptions. I shouldn't be surprised that there are so many pooper scooper options out there, but literally holy crap! I finally decided on this one for a couple reasons. The enclosed bin, with the bag is a great idea. Long enough where I don't have to bend over at all (32 Inches) Easy to store Upon receiving it, I quickly put it together loaded up the first bag and embarked on my maiden voyage into the dangerous backyard. Finding the first nugget I set the bin behind it and with a quick flip deposited said nugget safely into the bin/bag. No fuss, no mess, and no sounds of killing small animals. This wasn't so bad after all. I zipped around the yard like a ninja, flipping turd after turd into the waiting bin. No longer was I trying to strategize the firmness of the deposit, or which way upwind was. I saw a landmine and tackled it with the ferocity of a jungle cat seeing it's next meal (no I didn't eat any turds, that was a metaphor). Finally, finding the bag full, did I mention 2 Elkhounds are a literal factory of fecal matter? I uncinched the bag straps, tied them together, and poof found myself with a full bag of poo but no mess and easy to dispose of. Arm & Hammer sells extra bags for this, or you can just use normal plastic shopping bags. The handles will be a little different and may cause some issues but it should work. Humor aside, this is a really nice pooper scooper. I would have liked to see the actual rake part a little more sturdy, but for the price I can't complain all that much. It does make it extremely easy to pick up the mess, and dispose of it. I just wish I would have found this option sooner. No way am I going back to the "old" way. I highly recommend this product.

I cannot praise this enough. Oh my dog, where has this been? I have two big dogs - a pure bred German Shepherd and a German Shepherd/Husky mix. (At one point they were a trio, with a low content wolf hybrid but she passed away at the grand old age of fifteen after twelve long years with me, bless her heart.) I deal with a lot of poop and have been through every pooper scooper imaginable. Recently, I've been through not one, not two, but THREE of those metal pan/metal rake type scoopers and all three broke right at the rivets that hold the handle to the pan within weeks of spending $25+ on them. The clips that held the rake to the pan would break, too. They were cumbersome, anyway. I'd go to scoop and the thin tines of the rake would get stuck in the poop or after a few piles, poop would be falling out of the pan and I'd have to scoop and rescoop. Not with this set. This is fantastic. Because of previous experiences, I took one look at this small thing and went, "OH, hell no." I was about to return it without even trying it, thinking it far too small to handle the giant mountains of poop my GSD leaves for me. I'm so glad I didn't give up and gave it a shot! I have tried it both with the bags that it came with and with grocery bags, they all work great. The bag doesn't budge once you clip it in properly, and no poop stuck to the rake. Once I was done scooping, I could take the bag off, tie it off to keep the flies out, and throw it away, all without handling any poop. Just straight into the trash can. No buckets. No big bags. No hosing out the metal pan once I finished scooping. Just boom, bag sealed up and in the trash and everything except the rake stayed exceptionally clean. Not only that, the rake stores neatly inside the scoop. Such a perfect design. It'd be nice if it were metal, sure, but the plastic is surprisingly durable. One minor note: While plain plastic grocery bags work just fine with it, I will likely be buying the Arm & Hammer bags meant to go with the rake, as they're made of a much thicker plastic than the average grocery bag.

I have seriously spent years trying to figure out a good poop scooping/storage solution. We've used a flip top trash can mounted on a fence with a bag inside that we empty when full. We've carried around a floppy grocery bag. We've hauled around a bucket with a plastic bag inside. None of them really left me feeling...clean. I always felt like I had poop all over me, especially after tying the bag because, most assuredly, poop escaped the scoop and got on the handles. But this. Thiiiiis. This thing. You hook a bag on the far outside bottom of the bucket, away from the poop, load the pan full of dookie, then tie the CLEAN handles and toss. Yesssss!! We have an awesome scooper that we are still using but it's seen better days. We've had successful afternoons of poop picking with 0 issues. with either piece. I actually got upset when my husband took it upon himself to use this set first...before I could. For now, 5 stars for sure!
