I purchased this as a Valentines gift for my boyfriend, who had long expressed interest in a food dehydrator. I figured this would be a great place to start, and boy was I right! This dehydrator is pretty quiet and does the job exactly as advertised. The first night he got it (I gave it to him early, I can't keep a surprise! lol) we washed it out and made some strawberry and banana chips. We let it run for about 12 hours because we both like em real crispy. The results were fantastic. I'm munching on dried strawberries as I type this review. We're doing jerky next! This is a great starter product and I would recommend it to anyone looking to dip a toe into dehydrating their own snacks.

So far am loving this dehydrator. If anything changes my mind, I will let you know. Have only had it a couple of days, and it has not stopped running. I have considered getting one of these for a while, and then my husband came in with bukus of apples and peaches from the neighbor and said there was more where those came from. I did banana chips first since I got a whale of a deal on bananas. It is full of peaches and mangos now. I am thinking about getting two more trays, but I think I may just order a whole other unit with the price of the trays.

I had been wanting a dehydrator for years so, on a whim one day, I just made the plunge and purchased this one. It was relatively cheap compared to others I'd seen so I figured if it didn't work, or I didn't enjoy making jerky after all, I'd only be out $30 or so. I am so glad I bought this thing though! My first batch of deer tenderloin teriyaki jerky came out fantastic. I follow a Keto diet and beef jerky is my go-to protein snack and it can be quite an expensive habit. Store-bought jerky tends to be very high in sodium as well. I love being able to make my own marinade for my jerky a healthier way. The dehydrator comes ready to use...there really is no "assembly" once you figure out which side of the trays meet up (which isn't rocket science). It comes with 4 trays which is plenty to start with but I've enjoyed mine so much I am ordering 4 more trays because I want to make larger batches of jerky at one time. (You only get 1/3 jerky from whatever meat you use...so 3 lbs of beef will yield only ONE pound of jerky.) This means four trays full trays might sound like a lot but it's really not. This dehydrator is simple and easy to use. You lay the meat, put on lid and plug it in. There is no power switch or temp control. It is already set for the perfect temp. I will say this, be wary of HOW much time you use this because I got carried away in December making jerky as gifts and my electric bill shot up $70 for that month. lol

I reviewed serveral food dehydrator's before I made my purchase and I am happy to say I made the right choice!! I chose this dehydrator over others due to its ability to store compactly and its aesthetics in regards to appearance (oh, and the cord winds up underneath). I will probably use this dehydrator less than ten times a year; primarily used to make jerky, with occasional fruit assortments. After researching this specific dehydrator with and without thermostat, I chose to save a few extra dollars (due to my usage stated above) and purchase the one without. From my findings, there was maybe 10-15 degrees difference between each model at its highest temp and for my use was not a concern (I urge you to make your own findings.). I made jerky in thin cut slices (by knife, so as thin as I could make them) and started the process a 9:30pm. By 6am the next morning, almost all the jerky was finished. I let a few pieces go a little longer due to their thickness, but was very impressed in the outcome. The noise from the fan is minimal, at least to me. Once you place the lid over the top, it probably cuts the noise in half. Our sleeping quarters are upstairs, and since I run the dehydrator at night, there is no issue. Based on the description I have given above on how I use my dehydrator, I highly recommend to all that will have similar usage. It's a great little machine for the price. I purchased two extra trays just so I could receive free shipping, knowing I'd end up needing a couple more in order to cut the drying time down. Hope you enjoy your new food dehydrator as much as I do! Good luck with your purchase! Thanks,

I've only used it once, but so far: I love it. The only thing I would say is this: If you are looking at this; pay the extra and go with the next model. This has no power switch, so once you plug it in; it runs. It's super simple to setup, it comes with four trays - plenty of space to get started. It does come with a book and pre-dehydrating and offers some insights to dehydrating food and the process.

This has been great so far. It's a little bit larger and has more room than I expected, but it has been perfect for drying out some peppers I've been growing to eventually grind into powder!

with some modifications its work well enough to dry 3d filament. gets about 65C-ish.

Just used it to dehydrate some banana slices. Only the really thin slices dried well and took 3-4 hours. Tasted great though. Will try making some jerky next.

Wow, I've definitely gotten my money's worth from this little dehydrator. It's been running pretty much every day since I got it. I bought it in a bit of a panic when forecast early deep freeze and snow required me to pull in everything still in my garden. With no room in my freezer, I turned to dehydrating. In the last month, I've done several kinds of peppers; zucchini; tons of apples; tomatoes; beans; and a few other things. I put the dehydrator in the garage, load it up in the morning, and check during the day until things are done how I like them. I wish I'd gotten it sooner, actually; I'll be doing a lot more of this next year. The dried apple slices & tomatoes came out especially well; made 'sun-dried' tomato pesto spread that is awesome. This may not be a commercial dehydrator, but it sure does the trick for me. Best purchase I've made in a while. Pro tip: don't lean over it and put your face in the steam when drying hot peppers.

Read previous reviews, and figured for $35, couldn't go wrong. This little machine makes *amazing* dried fruits and vegetables. I ordered the slick sheets and extra trays. The noise is not an issue...it's not hair dryer loud, but it's not ceiling fan quiet. It takes far less time to dry things than the manual shows. -Banana chips - about 4 hours. -Tomatoes - about 3 hours. -Pears/Apples - about 1 hour. We've used canned apricots, cherries and even pineapple. Everything came out great. We've used applesauce and canned fruits to make puree for roll-ups. We've used it to dry vegetables for easy instant soup stock. This product exceeded my expectations, and with all the accessories we purchased, was less expensive than some of the fancier dehydrators. Features: Base unit is easily cleaned, trays stack nested and clear sturdy lid fits on top. The trays are top rack safe and can be used immediately without to much cleaning for the same food. The cord stores in the unit. The noise is tolerable...place it away from your traffic area, we mostly run it at night, which is more than enough time to dehydrate anything.
