This mailbox is awesome. We kept seeing our neighbor's mail pulled out ...
This mailbox is awesome. We kept seeing our neighbor's mail pulled out of their standard boxes and rifled through and assumed our's was getting the same treatment. After doing a bunch of research and complaining about having to spend $100 to keep our bills and personal information secure we decided to buy this unit, the Mail Boss 7506. It mounted easily to our existing post, is tough as nails and built sturdy enough that it should last for 20+ years, and the key works flawlessly. Recently we had a car break in and someone stole the spare mail key. I was worried we would have to buy a new box but when I called the company their customer service was top notch. Friendly quick service, no phone tree, and they provided a replacement lock + keys at no charge! Exceptional and well worth a 5 star rating, our purchase has been completely justified and we've had no issues with mail theft.

This is the mailbox that you deserve, but not the one that you need right now.
Love this mail box. The quality and build is excellent. The construction is very heavy duty and gives a strong feeling of security; this thing is heavy compared to other mail boxes. I especially like the locking mechanism and key, this is not your cheapo dinky key that comes with other mail boxes. The key is top notch, very similar to what you find on newer cars, it has that grove down the middle of it. I'm a bit cheap so I didn't buy the Mail Boss Post or their duo spreader plate (I purchased two mail boxes, for myself and my neighbor). Instead I purchased the Architectural Mailboxes Oasis In ground Post and duo spreader plate because they were a bit cheaper: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002RQNBG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001TUZH3A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The mailbox mounts to the spreader plate with out any issues. The mail boxes comes with lag bolts, but I purchased some 5/16 nuts and bolts to mount the mailbox to the plate.

Great locking mailbox
Having worked in the stamped steel industry for the past 32 years, I can say this product is one of the most well-built locking mailboxes on the market. No edge seems to fail & rust, heavy gauge steel, and powder coated finish. The only problem is installing the lag bolts. It's easier to install the lags if you have a ratcheted wrench given you have to turn it within the mailbox. I was hoping to use my drill with a socket bit, but it would not work given the height of the box. Make sure your holes are drilled deep enough to install. Love the box, four neighbors ordering the same to resolve mail theft, a huge problem today.

Completely worth the price for peace of mind...
We researched these kinds of mailboxes for a long time. Theft of mail is up in our town and we want to be safe from this. We decided on this one after reading the reviews and it was cheaper than our local Lowes. We ordered and the handyman put it in for us. I have very small hands and arms. I can not get my hand into the box to get the mail when it is locked. I was thrilled by this. The mail lady seemed to be a little confused when she brought the mail, but she figured it out. Now I do not have to get the mail as soon as I can - because now it is secure. This is also a great feeling. I had been watching for the mail and getting it as soon as I get home, but now I am free of this. This is worth the money on its own. It fits my existing post and is very large and sturdy. There is a clip on the front of the lid to leave mail if you choose to leave it unlocked. The mail lady will have to bring all my Amazon packages to my porch now because only very small packages will fit inside the small opening. I also like that. It comes with three keys. I did register them as the other reviewers had suggested. I am happy with this purchase. It is exactly what we were needing for safety and convenience.

This is the one.
Very well made. Drop slot is large enough for small packages, yet impossible to reach through to get to stored mail. Plenty of room for storage of delivered mail. Quality of metal and paint excellent. Easy to securely screw to a standard wooden mailbox post. Liked it so much that I immediately bought a second one for a future house.

Mail thief on the loose!
After 47 years I had to buy a locking mailbox because someone began stealing my mail.I own a small business and I receive payments via my mailbox. No more mail thefts! I really like this mailbox. 1-Thick metal walls (heavy!). 2-Safety slot for mailman to put mail through-no one can get their hand in there to get mail. 3-received three keys. 4-will still allow you to receive small packages that will fit through the slot. The things I didn't like: 1-Heavy! Difficult to place on existing post. I had to modify my current post and add some bracing to hold the mailbox (it worked so I really shouldnt complain). 2-key lock seems a little cheap-rattles when i put key in as if it were loose. 3-cant put boxes (that would normally fit in a regular large mailbox) in this mailbox. If you are accustomed to getting a lot of boxes/pkgs that barely fit in your large nonlocking mailbox, plan on making trips to post office to pick them up-they wont go through the safety slot. All-in-all I really do like this mailbox!! Its worth the price for piece of mind. btw-the mail theif was caught!

A little more peace of mind
Arrived quick and looks very nice. A slightly off white color that appears to be built from substantial, heavy duty materials. After experiencing several lost parcels over the years, I'd had enough. Getting a community mailbox was unlikely since those are pricey and not all neighbors want to have to deal with the hassle of walking down the street to get their mail (especially if they haven't had issue with mail theft). So I decided to get this. A neighbor of mine commented that they'd looked at the locking mail boxes at Lowe's and were not impressed, stating you could still stick your hand in there and grab something if you wanted to. So I gave it a try with this one. I have fairly smaller boned hands with long fingers..and trying my hardest, there's no way I could grab something that had fallen into the lower receptacle area of this box. It's big and deep enough to keep prying hands at bay, so I feel good about that. It comes with three keys, which is nice and was relatively easy to install on the existing post shared with two other mailboxes. I like knowing I don't have to rush home to check my mail everyday now, worried that someone might try to steal it. While this isn't guaranteed to prevent theft from happening, trying to break into this will take time. Not what a crook exactly wants. Glad I got this.

A Solid purchase with the right compromises
There have been some reports locally of crooks stealing the tax information from unlocked mailboxes, so we opted to get a locking mailbox. This model was the best compromise of price, size, and safety for our needs, so we "love it" as much as a semi-normal person can "love" a mailbox. It is solid and I like the locking mechanism. We put it on an existing wooden post, so the lag screws were just what I needed to install (note: you install the lag screws with a metric socket. This was not a problem. Just a little unexpected.) It is large, but not over the top large that it says, "Look at me!" To my mind, that would be an invitation for a thief to figure out why this homeowner has a locking mailbox. It has heavy steel, but not that heavy that it is hard to install. The mail storage area is roomy and accessible. It comes with three keys, which is plenty. Be forewarned that replacement keys are available from the company, but are not cheap. Be sure to register the key number with Mail Boss in case you lose all three!

Very strong, heavy, high quality, and attractive
This mailbox is so strong and attractive, about 5 neighbors have already purchased the same. The mail slot is magnetic and has a clip so that you can leave outgoing mail without the mailman needing to unlock anything. Installation was easy. They provide 4 screws and a drilling bit. Amazon had the best price, about 30 - 40% less than two local stores that had it in stock. The mailbox withstood the wettest California rainy season on record, without letting a single drop in. During the winter, I place a battery-operated, motion-activated light inside so I can see the mail better. The neighbors love it!

This thing is solid and heavy. I was worried it would look too bulky for the post I got, but I think it looks good. Recommended.
