It works
I live in Tamp Florida near several ponds. I have a 3 level townhouse with a stairwell leading up to my entry door. The stairwell collects mosquitos like crazy. When I open the front door, they swarm in and Im up all night tracking them down. The Dynatrap has literally stopped that. I placed a unit at the top of the stairwell and it lures any lingering mosquitos in. I am relieved to say that I havent had a mosquito in my home since I bought the unit. I actually ended up purchasing a second unit for my back yard. The first night, the stairwell unit trapped at least 30 mosquitos. It is super easy to set up. You plug it in, hang it, and let it perform its function. In my opinion, this is literally the best functioning mosquito trap for the money. It also lures and traps biting flies, which was a pleasant surprise. As far as the seller, the trap arrived quickly and was packaged nicely.

Reduced the mosquito swarms to zero
I bought the Dynatrap because the mosquito population has flourished due to excessive rain here in North Texas. Each morning we were discovering swarms of mosquitos hovering over the door from the patio to our living area. At first we hung the Dynatrap above that door, but that was a bad idea. The mosquitos were attracted by the Dynatrap and they don't immediately get caught by the fan. Next we moved the Dynatrap to the most distant corner of our patio and the swarms near the door have been reduced to zero. Although it is unsightly, I am not cleaning up the spider webs in that corner because I noticed mosquitos not caught by the fan are being caught in the spider webs. As we have heard, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."! Also I notice that ladybugs are surviving the trip through the fan, so I am releasing them whenever I empty the container.

We purchased this product after it was recommended to my husband and I by two different friends ...
We purchased this product after it was recommended to my husband and I by two different friends who use it and love it (one lives in the city and the other in the country). We have 4 acres, but 3 of them are wooded. We tried having someone come to spray the perimeter monthly but that did nothing for our mosquito problems and I was not too thrilled with that option. We hung our UNDER our second level deck (40x12) since it said it could handle some water and rain. Our deck has no covering, so we thought that was the best placement to get the coverage we were looking for. And the area under our deck is concrete but tends to be damp because of the size of our deck. We empty it out weekly and by the second week, we have had a significant decrease in mosquitos. I read about the 6 week cycle, but this began working for us after just a few days. How I determine "working for us" - myself and my two boys are mosquito MAGNETS. They never touch my husband. Since we hung this, only one bite. That includes playing in the backyard grass and deck (where my kids are daily and I am with them if I am not working). It does not work on gnats (FYI :) I can not point to any particular change in weather that would contribute to this decrease. We have had rain, humidity, sun up here in northeastern PA. Maybe more rainy that other years. My girl friend said she has had hers for 8 years. i hope ours lasts that long! It was worth the money if it continues to perform like it has so far.

This is the first season I have been able to enjoy my backyard without getting eaten alive by bugs
Those little flying critters have vanished from my backyard. This is the first season I have been able to enjoy my backyard without getting eaten alive by bugs! YEA!!

Where have all the mosquitoes gone?
I placed this under our pine tree in the backyard. Followed instructions regarding height and minimum distance from porch/ hammock area. It has now been three weeks and the mosquitos are under control. Only one bite so far and that was when I was near the Dyna trap checking for operation. We always have just enough of a mosquito population to be very annoying during summer days and evenings outside activities. Other bugs seem to have also dramatically decreased. So far very satisfied with purchase.

Dynatrap is effective at catching flying insects and has a low cost of operation
The Dynatrap DT 1050 is attractive for a bug light, appears to be sturdy and well made. It comes with a 10 foot electrical cord and two feet of chain for hanging. The UV lamp and fan consume 15 watts of power, or about 11 kWh per month. I estimate the cost of electricity at $1.50 per month for my location. After 19 days of use, I emptied the container onto a piece of paper (see photo). I saw all kinds of flying insects, including lots of gnats, some moths, beetles, flying ants, flies, a few lady bugs, any many bugs I couldn't identify. I can't honestly say that I found any mosquitoes, but they may have been eaten by the larger insects. That being said, I haven't noticed any mosquitoes outside. It is the end of June in the South and it's been raining enough to normally be plagued by these pests. My conclusion is that the Dynatrap is working.

works pretty well but you need to deploy it correctly...
These are great, the only part that is gross it the clean up. I've seen a noticeable difference in the number of mosquitos. I live in a heavily wooded, tree, shade/bush area (see pictures). My biggest recommendation is to make sure you get rid of any sitting water that reduced our problem by 50%. I had to drill small holes in our roof gutters as they weren't draining completely. Another issue I think some people who complain about it not working need to read how to effectively deploy these. I put this device in areas where I get flocked by mosquitos (it's near our pool equipment, prior to deployment I'd get 10-15 on me within seconds) but about 20ft away from where we will be. Most mosquitos don't travel more than 25-40ft from where they hatch. The instructions say to put this 20ft from where you will be, so I put this in vegetation that sits near the pool where I think many of the mosquitos come from. I then went on the other side of the pool and put another Dynatrap about 20ft from where we would be. I have a huge yard (1.5acres) so I figured having two would be enough. We get a TON of bugs, fyi. The mosquito lifecycle is around 6weeks so for maximum effectiveness this needs to run for 5 more weeks but I'd say I'm happy with my purchase. Remember that these are only as effective as how you deploy them! Also make sure the area doesn't have a competing light source. So this is in an extremely dark area at night with no other light so it is a huge beacon. Good luck.

Pleasantly Surprised
I'm surprised this worked. It looked like a gimmick. In my area, we have the Asian Tiger Mosquito. I can usually control them by spraying my yard during the summer until around September. Then it seems like there is nothing I can do to curtail them. However, a neighbor of mine had two Dynatraps. One in the front yard, one in the back. She swore by them. I said "well, I probably spend more than that on chemicals to control them in one year, so why not give it a try. I've seen zero mosquitoes in my yard after only 3 weeks. Zero. This time of year, especially after the inundation my area got from Hurricane Irma, the mosquitoes run rampant. But... zero. None. I simply don't believe it. I don't know what voodoo is in that thing, but it works for me in my area (coastal Southeast). I run with two 1/2 acre models. Mainly because I didn't think it could manage both the front and back yard with the house standing in the middle. Supposedly mosquitoes don't fly very far, so I was concerned the backyard mosquitoes wouldn't find their way to the frontyard trap. I included a photo (gross). Lot of moths are visible, but if you take my word for it... I sifted in there and found mounds of mosquitoes.

Great buy
This keeps the gnats and misquitos away. It's great, we can really enjoy the backyard. It makes a big difference.
