Saves a lot of time and extra expense !
These are a lifesaver if you don't want to pull your axles ! Backing plates rust out on almost every full size GM truck built in the 2000s very quickly.. Have been putting off replacing them on a 2003 suburban for a long time but after I ruined the second set of rotors I knew I had to do it . Was ready to order one piece ones plus new diff. gasket ,axle seals and diff fluid when I found these .Still not an easy job as you can't get an impact in to take out the bolts so you have to use hand wrenches but sure beats the hassel of opening the rear end and pulling out both axles . Several youtube videos show how to install as it is a little tricky around the arm for the emergency brake ,do the right side first as the videos show that one,the other side is upside down.If your truck has this issue I think it is a great idea !!

Saves a lot of time and aggravation.
You can't beat these. Installed on 2003 Silverado 1/2 ton. Easy install. No rubbing or grinding. A pleasure not having to pull the axles! Update: Been on for three years now and just a hint of surface rust is beginning to show. I'm in the Northeast in the mountains where they really lay down the road salt! Very pleased with these backing plates.

Easy Install
Install was pretty easy. Much simpler than pulling the whole axle shaft out to replace a single piece dust shield. Seems well made and was sturdy once installed. I'll come back and update if I have problems in the future with these but so far so good.

not really easy to install for the back yard mechanic no special tools just alot of patience.
Much easier than pulling axels to put the one piece dust shields on . Just a bit tricky to install and there are no directions with them. Beware once you install them make sure you bend the guide tabs over . If you don't bend them they drag on the no rotor and make a horrible screeching noise.

I'd go with these 2 piece over the 1 piece
I debated about getting the one piece or the two piece shields. I couldn't get the bolts loose with the wrenches I had, so I ended up having the pull the axles anyway. This was good, because I discovered a small problem that was developing inside the differential. I actually liked the 2 piece shields as I didn't have to completely disassemble the emergency brake connections.

Way better than OEM
The only way to replace dust shields on a silverado. I did have to bend them a little to get them to not rub on the brake disc. Still better than removing the axle to install an OEM.

factory ones were rusted out. used a punch & pliers to rip the old ones off. this way sure beats pulling the axles out just to replace old dust cover. test fitted with rotors passenger side rub a little bit couple taps with a hammer fixed it. My covers didn't come with directions so my tip is,there are two tabs on the cover that need to be bent to help lock the cover to the alxe.

Funky fit with close to profane words while installing but ...
Funky fit with close to profane words while installing but works well. The first side will take you a minute to figure out the interlocking tabs. The next side will go quicker. Still less hassle than pulling out the axles. Buy a pair.

Time saver
Went on without a problem just have to play with it a little to get it to fit just right. Just make sure you have a 18mm wrench not socket cause it won't fit all hand work for these bolts. But not hard takes about 30 - 40 min a side.

Excellent and easy.
Excellent - you don't need to pull your Axle shafts out with these two piece units. Just remember to fish the Emergency brake bracket through the hole first, then slide them both onto the axle and tighten down.
