Love this machine. Only had it for a few weeks but have used up one of spools of thread already. Re-threading was a bit tricky for this one spool, but not hard once I looked at directions in book. There is a diagram right on the machine but I could not determine where to find this one loop. Works great.

I got my new machine after reading reviews for weeks on end. This one is replacing my Bernette by Bernina. It sews like a DREAM!!! Threading is pretty simple if you pay attention and the DVD walks you through it AND gives you additional info on tension adjustments for gathering and stuff! LOVE LOVE LOVE my Janome!!!! This is one of the best purchases I have made!!!! I ordered it on Saturday and Got it on Monday (prime member)!!! Thanks AMAZON and Thanks JANOME!!!

The serger arrived quickly with no shipping damage. I began using machine the same day it came in. It works perfectly. The blind stitch foot and extra needles were a great bonus! Seller is an authorized Janome dealer so warranty is valid too! Very satisfied with this purchase.

What a great machine! Especially for the price. Everything you need to get started right out of the box. I am a first-time serger and cannot believe what a work-horse this machine is. Very happy with this purchase (just wish the threading instructions were a bit better!)

It couldn't possibly get any easier than this machine as a first serger. It came pre- threaded and was ready to go, making it easy to start. I encourage any new user to watch the DVD that comes with it, it's quite helpful in rethreading and setting up the stitches.

I'm very pleased with this machine. It is very similar to my previous serger, so not much learning curve. It is quieter and has less bounce than my old 134d. Great value for the price.

I'll edit this review as time goes on, but I ordered it after doing a bit of research and knowing I wanted something sturdy, simple, and straightforward. Janome seems to have gotten it right with this serger. It came threaded, but my toddler got a hold of it before I could ;|, and I had to re-thread it before using it. I had heard that a serger would be extremely difficult, and while initially appearing overwhelming... it was relatively simple and straightforward... getting easier after each thread. I looked at a youtube video and also the manual. Once threaded it worked perfectly!

I researched for a reliable serger and decided in the Janome8002D. I am making cloth diapers for my daughter's first baby. I have made about a dozen and the serger has worked perfectly. I have even changed the threads and after a failure at the first try, I reviewed the video again and got it right. I plan on making some oil cloth table cloths and this will be perfect. All kinds of projects in my future!! No regrets. Arrived timely and packaged with no damage.

I love this machine. Was intimidated when I first pulled it out of the box. Watched the dvd and was no longer confused. I have never used a serger before so the dvd was extremely helpful. I did a lot of shopping around before I bought this. This appears to be a very sturdy and well made machine. Very happy whith my choice.

I do not know why I waited so long to buy one of these. Yes it can be challenging to thread but after doing it once the color coding makes it very doable.
