I'm a union journeyman carpenter and bought this for work, it works great and my brothers really like it also! I would highly recommend this product and they shipped quick!

I'm a carpenter and use a chalk line every day. I've used just about every box out there. These snap the best and most accurate lines without making clouds of chalk everywhere. If you use other brands of chalk besides tajima they are prone to clump. Pricey for a chalk box but if you rely on your tools to make money it's well worth it.

I was using cheap Irwin snap lines for 7 years now, and finally got tired of them. With this Tajima I was amazed as soon as I opened the case. You can feel the quality in your hand. Aluminum case will hold up worlds better than plastic. When not using, the fill cap has a nice "latch" that the end hooks onto securely when not using and WILL NOT come off. I can't tell you how many times my Irwin would get pinched under a tool in my toolbag, and when I went to grab it 10' of line would be unwound and chalk on some of my tools. It winds up smoothly and has a line lock so if your arms can span it, you can snap it with your free hand. The fill cap is just a 1/4 turn, and has a nice rubber o-ring to help keep out moisture. The line is a thin braided line and produces a great line every time. No more lines that are 1/8" thick with excess chalk everywhere. I've never thought a chalk line was much of a tool until this Tajima showed me that they actually have "features". Make sure you buy extra Tajima chalk right away, as the bottle that comes with is only 1.4oz. However the small bottle comes in handy as it is much easier to carry around.

Tajima CR202B-P Chalk Rite II - Contractor Grade Ultra Thin Chalk Line -[FOR THE THIN-LINE]- Already was asked to order 3 more of these for 3 different people at work. They talked **** at first about it being a thin line, but quickly realized that it draws the most visible and a 100% accurate line they've ever seen (even at max. drawn distance, and not separating the pulls). Anyways, use a different chalk than what's provided. It's not completely terrible, but there are other options: industrial-grade reds that make this a 10/10 product.

If you want a fine, pen line chalk line, This Is It. The best application is if you're making a 4ft control line on a block wall or any wall due to the light nature of the string it will not sag over a very long distance.

The absolute best chalk line in my opinion. The line is extremely fine which make for accurate cuts and easy clean up. Very little chalk will spill out unlike many other lines I use. Everyone who uses this line is extremely impressed. Worth every penny. Exp: Custom decks and basements.

Chalk box has always been one of my favorite tools, a rock and a string that has been around since ancient times and is perfectly accurate all the time. Tajima refines the rock and a string concept into a very fine product. A very rugged aluminum case holds up to the rigors of daily job site use, the gear train rewind retracts the string very quickly and a very well designed and rugged hook works exceptionally well. Couple that with the fine, yet strong string and the very fine chalk (which you must use for this product) you get very fine, yet very visible lines. The Tajima is a great upgrade from the rather unrefined Straitline brand chalk box.

So far I haven't broken the thinner line using it for framing. The string is lighter weight so you really don't need to go as tight as you're used to with normal string. Just go tighter when snapping lines on walls, and it should last a while. Local lumber stores carry the thin and thick Tajima string anyways if I change my mind. They only have the all plastic case version of this chalk box for about the same as I paid for this metal one here on Amazon. Much better than all my previous chalk lines.

I've always had a passionate hate for the chalk lines at Home depot and Lowe's. I knew that if there was nothing better than those chalk lounges this would represent one of man kinds biggest short comings. So i took to amazon and found this. This chalk line saved my faith in humanity, for now. I'll go through 5 if those home depot lines in a year at $10 each. This one cost me $25. The line is really thin and snaps a morw neat and cleaner line, yet it seems more durable than the HD ones. The reel is fast and smooth and the frame is solid. It even has a lock on the reel which really helps you comfortably pull tension on the line before snapping. I could see this line lasting me years. Totally worth it.

Best chalkline made. But if you snap multiple lines on plywood, for instance, get the red one. The line in this one os so fine, you will only get one line without recoiling. I own four red ones and one blue and have various colors of chalk in each.
