I'm not that familiar with AmazonBasics products -- I believe this is the first such product I've purchased from Amazon. But if the quality of this camera case is any indication, I may have to try more such items in the future! This case is surprisingly well made of high-quality materials and will hold even a large DSLR camera with a lens attached. I use it for a Sony a6000 with a Sony 18-105mm G-type zoom lens attached, and it still has plenty of room inside for a wide camera strap as well. It has two side pouches for accessories and is well-padded all around. The hard, shock-proof plastic end-cap surrounding the narrow end of the case does a good job of protecting the lens resting inside. Highly recommended!

This is that rare holster case that will handle a DSLR with attached battery handle. I'm a working journalist, and there are times when I want to head out with just my camera and a versatile lens--not my whole kit of lenses, strobes, filters, and the like. I've been on the outlook for a simple, affordable case that would carry and protect my Nikon D7200 with battery handle installed for long shoots and portrait/landscape versatility. This case comfortably holds the Nikon with a Tamron 16-300 (my do-it-all fave) and lens hood attached. (See photo.) Be clever with the velcro inserts, and you could easily accommodate a smaller DSLR without the battery handle and have room for an extra lens. A GREAT CASE!

Just recently bought a Canon camera and needed a bag, but didn't want to get a super expensive one. This is actually a really nice camera bag - I was surprised with the quality for the price. There is definitely enough room for the camera itself with the lens still attached. I gently wrap the camera strap around the lens for extra protection because I am weird like that!. It's "snug" in the compartment, but still fits great. It is as compact as I can get a case that fits everything. Plus, the strap on this bag is super nice to through over your shoulder for walking or even across your body for hiking. It is easily accessed - just unzip, pull out the camera, aim, and shoot! It has two side pockets, plus a large front pocket. These extra pockets can be used for anything! Sometime I put money, chapstick, extra battery, extra memory cards, etc. The plastic bottom "cup" of the bag allows it to stand upright. The back part of this bag that is closest to your body has padded mesh, like a backpack. The quality is superb and I HIGHLY recommend it.

I took a gamble and got the smaller camera case for my Nikon D100. It works great and the size is PERFECT for me. It easily holds the camera body and lens. Space/Size I do like to keep the camera cables/charger, etc. together, but this bag is a bit of a tight squeeze. (I have a UK charger so require an additional adapter--- which combined take up valuable space.) I was able to fit everything in but either taking the camera out or putting back in without fiddling with the other bits makes it a challenge. HOWEVER, I would rather not traipse around carrying the extra weight, so I am contented to keep the charger and cable in a logical location for regular top-up of the battery. Overall, I love the size of this camera bag; it's compact and not something I'd have to worry about side-swapping someone with as I walk past. It's also easier to tuck to my side for security purposes. Design/Shape I thought this was a pretty clever design. The bottom is a flat and rigid (durable) plastic, and even with the camera inside it stands up on its own. The zip into the main compartment is on the top, following three sides of the case. The zipped side and front pouches would be perfect if I needed the space for extra batteries, memory cards, or heck, other sundries if I wanted to forgo my purse. Not really enough room to totally abandon my handbag, of course! But plenty for the 'day-long outing' sort of supplies (lip balm, cards/cash, keys, etc.). I also like the should strap and cushioned handle on the top of the case in case I want to carry in my hand. The exterior is made of a rugged material with nice trim designs, and the zippers seem to be pretty durable. Finally, I think the interior is well-cushioned, which is something I need to see Overall, I haven't had much chance to use this out in the field, but I am pleased with this purchase and despite the space limitations I still would prefer this size as I don't like carrying around larger/bulkier items. I still can't believe I got this for the price paid-- what a steal!

I ordered the Nikon holster case for my P1000 over a month ago and it is still back-ordered so I ordered the Amazon holster case and it fits perfect !

I had another smaller verison of this that I carried for years. This is larger and fit my Nikon D950 with 55-200MM lens with no problem. I removed the flare cap and keep it at the bottom of the case and used the side velcro straps to strap it down, since I don't use it offten. Even with this at the bottom I was able to fit the Nikon and the zoom lens in without any problem. Also the side pocket lets me put 2 spare batteries in one pocket and lens cleaning supplies on the other. The front pocket has 2 small pouches for additional SD cards. It even fit a small backup Cannon G9X camera without any problem. I use my Nikon strap with carabiners for easy removal and stap to the camera, if necessary, instead of the strap that came with it. I have a hand strap on my camera, so I use it as a hoster hung by my hip and can pull my camera out quickly. I also like the bottom weather proof rubber that I can put the bag down knowing it won't bang on the floor or the worry about water or dirt. I find I don't ever need to carry my large traditional camera bag ever on any trips anymore. I just need my backpack if I need a flash or tripod.

What a nice basic camera bag for a great price! This is protecting a Nikon D5200 with a 55-200mm lens attached with room to spare on the sides. A strap tucks in neatly with the camera. The front pocket holds the charger and spare SD cards. Spare battery in side pocket along with a lenspen. Other side pocket holds an emergency poncho. Each area has room for a few other small items. Does just enough without being too much to carry around. The solid base makes it sit upright and is fairly stable. Padding is sufficient. It is not too tight, but nothing is rattling around. My only concern is the strap snaps are plastic, but they seem to be strong enough. This was purchased as a gift and it was exactly what was needed.

In this review I'll be comparing the AmazonBasics case to the Case Logic SLRC-201 SLR Zoom Holster (Black) which is identical in design but a few bucks more. Ways in which the Amazon is better: It fits my camera, Canon 6D with 24-105mm f4L lens, better than the Case Logic. The amazon has a bigger (length and width) opening, so there is still room above the camera to tuck the camera strap in. In the case logic the opening is very tight making it hard to tuck the strap in anywhere but on top of the LCD. The amazon also holds the camera better with the velcro internal straps. You can move the straps around to fit your camera just right. With my camera in the Case Logic, it didn't fit in the "suspension" system, so I had to use the case without the suspension which I didn't like because it puts the force on the front of the lens when the case is in a downward (normal) position. The extra space on the Amazon is also important because it makes it easier to quickly take out the camera without much fuss. The case logic takes more effort because the camera is really snugly in the case. SD card pockets that close. This makes me feel safer knowing my cards are in individually sized velcro-closed pockets, inside a bigger zippered pocket. On the case logic, the spot for a card is in a small mesh pocket that doesn't secure it as well. Ways in which the Case Logic is better: If you have a smaller dSLR, the case logic suspension system works well. It makes it easy to quickly take out the camera since the camera sits on top, and it keeps it safe, putting the force on the body of the camera and not the lens. The side pockets are bigger. On the Case Logic I can fit my filter in its square case in the pocket. It is just a drop too big on the amazon. The strap! The attachment loops on the Case Logic are made of sturdy fabric, I could see them taking lots of force. The amazon loops are made of cheap plastic! The strap itself is also flimsier on the amazon! The clip is pathetic! I am considering buying a separate replacement strap already. Minor detail but the waterproof base is bigger and sturdier on the case logic. The amazon one doesn't feet as well structured. Bottom line: the amazon one fits my camera better thanks to the velcro straps and keeps my sd cards safe, so I'm sticking with it. Have a small dSLR? get the Case Logic. Canon 5D or 6D? Get the amazon but be careful with the flimsy straps.

Time will tell, but my impression is this is a rugged, well padded case for our new Nikon DSLR. It is much larger than the CaseLogic case we had for our old D40. With just our 35mm prime lens on, the camera disappears into the depths of the case.. But at least we have the option of storing with our 55-200 zoom lens on. The firm, waterproof rubber base lets you set the bag down almost anywhere. The front pocket is a bit small but enough to stow the charger and a USB card reader. The price is competitive with the anonymous Chinese cases on eBay, and the quality of the Amazon bag is overall excellent. I had the pleasure of using it this weekend and I'm glad I got it.
