Saved My Marriage
Needed this in an emergency because our central air system broke down during a heat wave and could not get repaired for 2 weeks because of the lack of parts. This unit was a life saver and worked very well. I followed the instructions exactly and had no problems with this unit. It cooled our one bedroom condo very nicely and it did not consume a lot of electricity in doing so. As far as using this as a temporary solution, it was a good investment.

So Far GREAT! GET THIS ONE!
Bought this to replace a brand news Honeywell 12.000 BTU combo heat/cool/dehumidify unit That unit cooled (as stated in enclosed brochure) 1 degree F per hour and after 10 hours was at and stayed at 72 F regardless of how much you lowered the temp. Installed this one after that unit and was very surprised that this unit "cools like a dream" and as expected: blowing out cold air, exhaust hose functioning without heating up, cooling very quickly.able to cool adjacent spaces as am extra bonus. Easy to install hose into well-made window barrier that is also able to extend very wide. Bonus hose outlet cover for window piece. 3rd floor unit we have so plenty of comparison and this equals the cooling abilities of the others. Sturdy, no broken or flimsy parts.

VERY PLEASED SO FAR!
I read a lot of portable ac unit reviews before settling on this one and am VERY PLEASED with it so far (approximately 7 days). The temps this past week in Southern California have reached into the mid 90's and between this Honeywell portable ac unit, an a/c wall unit in the bedroom and 2 ceiling fans my entire 1 bedroom apartment has been a cool dream in the mid 70s. I have vertical sliding windows so I took the advice of one of the reviewers here and utilized the foam that came with the ac unit packaging to fill in the gap between the provided panel and the rest of the window opening. I also ordered high density foam tape to create a good seal as well as reflectix wrap and foil tape in case the heat coming from the hose was so warm it became problematic in dropping the room temperature (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000052030/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1)(https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0022NH3CQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)(https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BQRBB4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1) So far I have NOT had to utilize the Reflectix materials- just the foam tape. Once it hits 100 degrees that may change, so I am keeping it handy. For reference (because I personally find that helpful when I read reviews), I am a 45 year old and very capable single woman who can do just about everything on my own...but I had ZERO knowledge concerning portable ac units prior to my internet search on the subject. Thank the gods for product reviews and the helpful advice/ photos of reviewers! Because of you kind people I had no trouble setting this unit up all on my own, despite my ignorance. Color me GRATEFUL. Thanks, fellow reviewers!

Surprise! It's SOOO Quiet and Efficient, with all sorts of plusses. A VERY nice machine.
I got this as my second choice, since my first choice was going to take weeks to get here and I needed it for summer, not for autumn. Honeywell is an old name with a good reputation, so I took a chance, even though I wasn't so sure about the top vent outlet it had. Amazingly, it's not only VERY QUIET, even with the fan speed in high, but it's efficient, easily cooling an upstairs, west-side (hot) room that's 24x16 with a vaulted cathedral ceiling from a body cooking 87°F down to 68°F in 18 minutes. My last AC unit (died) ran all night to do the same job and had this noticeable shift of sound when it powered on its cooling phase. I thought it was quiet, though, by comparison to others. But the Honeywell? It's sweet-dream quiet. The one down side is, if you have cats, you should prop open the vent because, invariably, they'll hop up on it and shut it. The really nice thing, though, is that the controls are on the front, not the top, so cat-hopping-on-it doesn't change the settings. A VERY nice, quiet, good machine! Highly recommended.

Works Very Well, Did Some DIY
I bought the AC last week after being hit with 90F weather in Southern California and because my 2nd floor bedroom facing the sun during the day makes sleeping at night unbearable. I also rent so landlord doesn't allow us to install anything to the window/wall. AC arrived on time and assembling it was very easy. There are cheaper ones at Home Depot, but Consumer Report rated this one as #1 and I wanted it to be delivered because it's so heavy (I'm single & live alone). The only part that needed extra work was the window kit because it was too small for my window even after the extension. So, I went to Home Depot and bought a piece of wood that they cut to my measurements, which in my case was 12" in length. I also bought weather stripping to ensure there would be no gaps in installation. I painted the wood piece white and then assembly was a piece of cake after that. The only eye sore is the exhaust tunnel/pipe which the cat tree hides nicely. See the pictures for more detail. I slept really well last night and I even felt cold and had to lower the temperature :) I'm very happy with this product! I should add that I did hear the sudden ping of the machine during the night as it pushed more air, but this sound isn't any different from what you hear in regular AC's. In addition, the noise level doesn't bother me, this is how AC's run. If you've ever been to Vegas, or other hotel rooms in hot climates, you know what AC's are like and I find the noise level pretty comparable and tolerable. Some reviews have really complained about that, but don't let that deter you from buying it because t's not a malfunction of the machine. ***UPDATE 9/16/19**** I've gotten a lot of great comments about this AC, thanks for them and I have read them all! Just wanted to say that it's still working really well for me and I sometimes have to turn up the temperature because I get cold at night! I've never had to drain any water as some have asked. The only thing I've done is vacuum the filter foam at the back of the AC from accumulated dust and cat hair (this is normal). In the winter, I was able to roll away the AC and store it nicely. I threw out the old weather stripping foam and just bought a new package for the summer because it would adhere better to my window and setting it up again wasn't too much of a hassle. I also found a white colored weather stripper from Home Depot which was more aesthetically pleasing since it matched with the color of the white wood and AC hose. My routine is to turn on the AC about 30 min before I plan to sleep just because my window faces the hot sun most of the day and it takes a little while to cool the room down. I did want to mention that the weather stripping and customized wood extension aren't 100% noise proof; you can still hear police cars zoom by/ambulances/trains/beeping cars (it's great living on a busy street, isn't it!?), however the sound of the AC running creates white noise and blocks out the exterior noise really well so it hasn't bothered me at all. As I've said before, the white noise actually helps me sleep and doesn't bother me. The pings still happen but just like your grandfather's old clock...your brain does an amazing thing and blocks it out. Hope this helps!

Cools off fast
This portable A/C can cool off most good sized rooms with the help of an oscillating fan. We use it on a 14x16' living room. I think it has other features too like dehumidifier. Fat chance on getting a hose for that drainage for the dehumidifier feature, that needs to be purchased separately. What I like about this A/C unit is a pissed off teen could figure out how to put it together. It's quick and easy to use with the use of any window that slides open. It won't work with french door windows.

Just buy it... You need this!
Hands down on of the best purchases I've made on Amazon in years. While it's not aesthetically pleasing and doesn't match with the decor of my condo. This unit is AMAZING. I do not have my windows sealed, as I have a flip out window and need to have an acrylic sheet created with a hole cut out to replace my screen and keep in the cold. But despite that, it still cools my 800sq foot condo down nicely. IT IS LOUD though, so be prepared for that. I have the unit in my living room near my television and I have to crank the TV up to hear it. I can also hear the unit running loud and clear from my bedroom, which is no big deal as I no longer use my sound machine to sleep.. LOL. It was easy to setup and begin using right out of the box. I live solo and do not like to put things together, install things, etc. etc. With this, I unboxed it, attached the hose, extended the hose and put it out of my window so the heat could escape.. turned the aircon on.. and boom it was good to go. My condo stays at a very comfortable 65 degrees... and mind you, this is without my window being properly insulated. I love this unit.. best purchase ever.. aside from the aesthetics and how loud it is when it runs.. I've experienced ZERO issues and have been blissfully enjoying my summer.. the heat outside is 80-90 degrees, but inside its a very comfy 65-69 degrees always...

Happy with them
I can only comment so far on the AC part. After being quoted $2000+ for new house AC, I was forced to buy small units. I did research & anything halfway decent is around $300. These were $350 with tons of good reviews. My house is 2400+ s/f. I bought 2.The idea was one on each end. It doesn't make the house cool but very tolerable. To be fair it's not meant for a whole house. Thank GOD for the rollers on bottom. That made ALL the difference!! In a living room very nice, my bedroom COLD in mins. A bit loud, but reasonable. Moving room to room isnt hard. Bulky bit not too heavy. I throw cord over shoulder, hold tube with one hand and give it a little push with my foot to get it going. Overall very happy.

I finally had to accept the idea of using A/C in the Puget Sound area of Washington State!
Our natural air conditioning is seemingly being overwhelmed by climate change, so I finally gave up. After reading many of these product reviews and consulting a local plastics company for advice, I settled on this Honeywell MN10CESWW. Ordered it on Aug 4, during warm, but not ridiculous, weather, it shipped from Reno with an estimated delivery date of Aug 8, when temps were expected to be in the low 90s (AARGH!). Well . . . ! Whatever can go wrong WILL go wrong. Murphy is the only guy in the universe with full employment. First comes the update from UPS early on the 8th: The A/C has arrived at the local UPS hub - about two miles away - at 2:30 a.m. At 3:00 a.m. the next update said the truck was late and that delivery to my address would be delayed. After no more information all day, I called UPS to find out what was the hang-up. It's just two miles away and has been there for 15 hours. Oh. It was too late for "processing off the truck" so wouldn't go out for delivery until Thursday, the 9th. [I grit my teeth.] Thursday, the temps are higher. I tell myself it will be here early. . .. uh . . . NOPE. 7 pm comes and goes. No A/C. Finally, at 7:48 pm, one utterly exhausted UPS-truck guy parks that huge box near my door and staggers back to the stairwell. At the time, it was nearly 98 degrees here. Now, please note: UPS is rarely this late in the day delivering to my address, and I strongly suspect a dastardly plot by M. Nature and the aforementioned Mr. Murphy to pick this very hot day to pull a stunt like this, and with an Air Conditioner, no less! Now, for the good parts - I mention this only because it was covered by other reviewers - the box was in near-pristine condition, the packing inside the box obviously factory installed, and there was no damage to anything. The instructions for unpacking it are printed on top of the box, so follow them and liberating the 70 +/- lb. machine is a snap. Lifting off the box leaves the A/C standing on more styrofoam and a cardboard pallet; I removed that by tipping the machine onto its side and pulling away those packing pieces, then righting the machine and rolling it to its location near the window where it is now installed. The installation: THAT was the tricky part. Unlike the double-hung or horizontal sliding windows for which the attachment was designed, mine are casement windows that open outward with a crank. This is where TAP Plastics, a nearby plexiglass business, comes in; although no suggestion is included by Honeywell for using this type of portable A/C in casement windows (a mistake on their part), it took quite some time for me to figure out how to solve the window problem, since their attachment wouldn't work here. Then came figuring out who to take the project to - the people at TAP Plastics were ahead of the game. They already had many templates for fitting different brands of A/C. They cut a plexiglass sheet to fit the window, using the window screen for sizing, and a precision job cutting the hole to receive the exhaust hose, using the included Honeywell window part, notches and all, for a guide, and away we go! The plexiglass sheet is secured to the window frame with clear shipping tape. Photos are included so you can see how it looks - if this is your issue, you're in luck! This machine has been in place for a week, in temps ranging from 68 to 100+, in a 1000 sq.ft. top floor apartment. It has been VERY effective. As for noise, not really. It is no noisier than a regular fan, in fact, it's probably more quiet. When the compressor comes on, the sound reminds me of the operation of a forced-air furnace. It quickly fades into the background. Highly recommended.

Works great, keeps our room nice and cold on these warm Spring/Summer nights.
We like to sleep with the air conditioning at 67 degrees. This has been running our 10 year air conditioner a little too hard so I was looking for another alternative when I came across this Honeywell 10,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner on Amazon. It came fast, packaged well and my wife had it set up in minutes before I even got home. This model comes with everything you need to get going and includes an easy-to-install window venting kit that can be removed whenever the unit is not in use. Does it work? This works so well we are able to cool our room down to 65 degrees for a nice deep sleep. Also a big plus the Auto-Evaporation System allows for hours of continuous operation with no water tray to empty. ADDITIONAL FEATURES: 1 to 24 hour Automatic Shutoff Timer - 3 Fan Speeds - Dehumidification Capacity of 81.1 pints/day Eco-Friendly R-410A Refrigerant - Digital LED Display - Feather-Touch Controls - Scratch-Resistant Front - Single 1.2 m (3.94 ft) Hose - Noise level of 54 dBA I would highly recommend this product for your cooling needs.
