Takes the hassle out of watering!
This is one of the best purchases I have ever made! I use it with a soaker hose on my garden and no longer have to worry about going out of town and my garden dying. Although it looks a little complicated at first glance, it is incredibly easy to use!! Do not make the mistake of leaving it out during the winter (I didn’t read that part of the directions) because it won’t make it through freezing temps, but it is perfect for all summer long! Mine lasted through 2 hurricanes and some 100+ degree days! I love this item so much that 2 of my best friends with gardens also now have this water timer too!

They work, but make sure you understand a Y valve setup.
I bought 3 of these with the Amazon suggested 2wayz All Metal Body Garden Hose Splitter and so far they are working fine, but today I experienced a new issue. I had accidentally left the opposite Y valve open a tiny bit and when the Orbit timer shut off it created massive water hammer in our system. I'm assuming air was getting sucked into the system, the hammering was on the opposite end of the house where the main line comes in. My wife identified the timing and when I inspected I found that y valve partially open. I see on other reviews that water hammer is an issue, but I ran 3 of these all summer last year with no issues, I think just make sure it's the only open avenue on the bib it is controlling, when it runs. You can also buy a "mini rester" to eliminate the chances of it happening. You will see these on your washing machine water valves. Live and learn, not docking them a star for my ignorance.

Excellent Lawn all summer
This is an excellent timer! I put 3 hoses with sprinklers on it. I had each sprinkler run one at a time for about 1 hour each every other day. So it ran for 3 hours total. The batteries lasted all summer. I tried to keep it mostly out of the sun. It can be set for everyday, every other day. Lots of options. Definitely worth it. I used it with turbo rotary sprinklers, which are cheap, QUIET and work very well. I also had 50/75 foot hoses that worked well. I was able to keep my lawn watered almost as well as my neighbor with in ground sprinklers. Didn't have to worry watering my lawn all summer! If it rains, You just turn the faucet off, and turn it back on when your ready. The settings keep and resume when you put the water back on.

If you get this, you also need this
The product is excellent but shuts the water off abruptly, causing water hammer (which makes a loud noise and can damage your pipes.). Here's a picture of my setup; spend another $10 and also get this: Sioux Chief Mfg 660-H 3/4-Inch Female Swivel Hose Thread by 3/4-Inch Male Hose Thread Mini Rester https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000H5MQNM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_eTLGxbF5YM86P

Simply perfect
Perfect item! Surprisingly solid design for the price. Simple navigation. Enough settings, but not too much to make it too complicated. Previously I purchased one item to test on my back yard, then after using it for a few weeks, I decided to purchase the same model for my front yard. Now I don't have to worry about watering. I thought it would be useful to give a few more details about watering options: HOW LONG: 0 - 240 minutes with 1 minute interval. HOW OFTEN: every 6 hours, 12 hours, 1 day, 2 days, 3 days, 4 days, 5 days, 6 days, 7 days. MANUAL: 0 - 240 minutes with 1 minute interval. Manual mode is managed by a dedicated button, so using it does not affect your automatic settings and they remain unchanged. When set to start in manual mode, it gives a few seconds before starting. I find it quite useful as my hose outlet is on the other side of the yard, and I have enough time to get of the way. I used this timer for about a month, so it is hard to say if it will last long. But considering how it appears, I have a strong feeling that it will. Overall I am impressed and can strongly recommend this item to others. P.S. This is my first review on Amazon, I just thought this product deserves a few minutes to tell people about. :)

Excellent and easy to use water timer
Works great, I bought 2 last year for use in my vegetable garden with drip hoses. Simple and Easy to program. I have it sent to water twice a day (Every 12 Hrs) 30-Mins at 6am & 30-Mins at 6pm. A Word of Caution: Most battery operated water timers on the market today utilize a instant on plunger valve which means your watering hoses and piping as an instant pressure surge which can damage your rupture water lines and fittings causing leaks. To remedy this and help protect from water hammer damage it is highly recommended to also install a "Sioux Chief 660-HB Water Hammer Hose Arrestor, 3/4-Inch" same as water hose end fittings. Easily Installed Water Hammer Artester on the inlet side of the water timer and you'll be good to go.

modifications for improved reliability
We have purchased the 3 outlet programmable and the 2 outlet programmable versions which have both produced excellent results and ease of programming. I modified the installation to cure some annoying problems which may be troubling other users. I installed a water hammer arrester (at bottom of picture) with a quarter turn ball valve on the water supply line T off the hose bib to prevent water hammer when the valve closes. To prevent dripping at the inlet top hose bib connection, I wrapped white Teflon tape on the threads. I modified and painted the supplied bracket which attaches to one of the outlets securing it to a steel stake driven into the ground. I also added an adjustable water pressure regulator set to 50 psi to reduce pressure on the valves and seals to improve longevity and reduce water hammer. The pipe manifold system I put together keeps a free hose bib at the top and allows for future expansion with another capped hose bib at the bottom near the arrestor. Stainless steel clamps secure the assembly to the steel stake. Painters and deck demolition work above failed to break this arrangement. I installed 2 long life AA lithium batteries to improve long term reliability. Back flow preventers were installed on outlets to protect against both back-siphoning and back-pressure of contaminated water into the potable water supply.

It’s just a timer!
There’s really nothing special about this timer...not meaning that it’s hard to use or anything, because it’s not, I’m just saying it’s a timer! I needed one for my garden...as I spent all last summer hand watering my veges and plants! It was extremely time consuming and got BORING after only a couple weeks! So here’s my solution for this year! I bought this timer and a new broadcast 360° sprinkler, and so far so good!! I’ve been standing outside with it for the duration to see if it’s going to malfunction or anything during my watering, but it’s done great so far! It is kinda heavy, which is ok, you need 2 AA batteries for it (not included), and it clearly states it shouldn’t be left out in freezing temps! The interface and dials are SO self-explanatory, it’s insane. Set clock, set time to start, set how long, manual, auto, etc.! A chimpanzee could probably figure it out! It also has a rain delay, but I’ve *never* been able to figure out rain delay...lol! But only mainly because I’ve never tried!! Anyway, it’s super simple, and looks like it’s going to be an awesome little garden timer!!!

Great product!! Completely satisfied.
This is perfect for what I needed. We have a soaker hose buried in our garden beds and this allows us to keep the hose at just a trickle, then this turns on twice a day so we get a long, slow soak and never have to remember to do it. I live in the Southwest US and even one forgotten watering can really damage the produce in summer, but this has made my garden flourish. I love the features, like the manual setting if you need to use the hose for something else for a little while, and the rain delay. Very convenient and it all works great! Once or twice we've had some dripping where it attaches to the spigot, but we just tightened it again. I don't know how long it will hold up in our intense southwest sun, but so far it's been a great purchase and I'm very pleasantly surprised.

why I love these!
I have been using these in a commercial application as well as home. I have about 15 in use. I love these because- I cannot begin to tell you the time that these have saved me and water too, they are super easy to use, the setting are versatile enough for most watering and misting applications, The price is reasonable, no special plumbing, simple batteries, the batteries last a long time even with daily watering. (12-18 months, maybe longer but I change them when they show low), They are so reliable. I have some of these timers in use now for 4-5 years. All that I do to maintain them is the following: before the first freeze, I turn off the water supply, open the timer valve to drain it and turn the timer to off, that's it. It would be even better to just bring them in. I have tried many timers, some are better or worse in the different features but I think that these have the best combination of all.
