Professional Cleaner Recommends
I'm a professional with 35 years experience cleaning and this vacuum is by far the best I have used. This model has everything I need to get all the jobs done with minimal effort and excellent results. I need a large capacity dirt holder and this one has it. Just be sure each time you empty it to check the top also as hair and dirt can slow the flow. In addition, it has a long cord so plugging into a certain area gives you maximum cleaning without having to keep moving the cord from plug to plug. The filter is VERY easy to clean..I throw it in the wash with my mop heads! This model comes with a hard floor tool and honestly that is one of the main reasons I choose this model. I have tons of clients with hardwood and animals and this baby does A GREAT job picking up the hair!!!.. Just keep the tool on"carpet" setting for best results! I could go on and on but basically, the point is, you can't go wrong with this model !

Great power, easy to use, nice attachments, maneuverable
This vacuum replaces an old and heavy Hoover Wind Tunnel model. I tried to repair the Hoover, but the parts are no longer available. I hate sending stuff to the land fill, but there it goes. The first thing I noticed, obviously, was the weight. The Shark is much lighter than the old Hoover. Second, I also noticed that the head of the machine (with the brushes and all) was much less wide than the old Hoover. At first that was a tad concerning. But once I started vacuuming I quickly warmed up to the Shark. Next, I was surprised at how easy it was to maneuver. The Hoover had a power assist (something I never liked and always turned off; that made it hard to push around on thick carpet). But the Shark was very easy to push around, and the ball pivot head really makes maneuvering around furniture and corners a breeze. I love the removable tank portion for doing the stairs. That makes the stairs an order of magnitude easier vacuum than using the old Hoover. I can't comment on pet hair. No kids, no pets (never have anything that eats or breathes) so my vacuuming chores are a bit easier than many households. I have noticed a couple of things to keep an eye on. First, the tank is relatively small, so empty it often. Once around the block in our home (2100 sq ft, part of which is wood flooring) and the bin was very full. But that was possibly because of one particular rug that really seems to throw off fibers. Second, I did find that the vacuum doesn't work real well on tiled floor. You know how sand and really tiny rocks end up in the grout lines between the tiles? Well, the Shark as a standalone vacuum didn't do a good job of picking up those (neither did the old Hoover), so you really need to resort to one of the wand attachments to do a decent job. But I am used to that, so no real issue for me. But something for others to take note of. Lots of sand on the roads here in the winter, and hence in the garage and on your shoe soles. That gets deposited in the tiled entry. Great bright lights on the front; I suppose it would be great if I vacuumed in the dark, something I am not inclined to do. And a nice selection of attachments. The stairs are now a breeze. The Shark is a little on the tippy side, so be careful when pulling the wand out too far. The controls are well thought out and in good locations. This vacuum really is quite intuitive to operate. So, in summary, a new machine that I haven't used all that much ... hey, no kids or pets, so I don't vacuum every day (even close!). But I am glad the old Hoover finally gave up the ghost so I could justify getting something a few decades newer. Good power, easy to use, great attachments, maneuverable. What's not to like?

OH MY GOSH...THIS THING REALLY SUCKS...YOU GOTTA GET ONE!!!
The Shark Rotator Professional Lift-Away arrived yesterday afternoon and it took longer to get it out of the box than it did to put it together. I have a burgundy colored short pile area rug in the living room that has been looking rather shabby of late. It takes about an hour of vacuuming to get all the pet hair (one dog and two cats) with my Dyson Animal canister, so I thought that would be the perfect test for the Shark. Holy cow...this thing really sucks!!!! It picks up ALL the hair with only one or two passes. I did the "Mother-in-Law is coming deep clean" and it only took 15 minutes. I emptied the bin twice!!! I'm too ashamed to post pictures of all the hair and dirt the Shark pulled out of rug, you would think I have never vacuumed, ever, even though I vacuumed the day before and thought it was clean. The Shark really picked up the pile and now it looks new again. Same thing for the bedroom carpets, they look like new. I'm shampooing them all this weekend after seeing how much dirt came out of them. The Shark has a good sized dust bin and it is super easy to empty. I washed the dust bin and the top sponge filter and it only took about 10 minutes start to finish. The cord length is great, but kinda gets in the way. I put it through the handle and that really helped. Not too sure about some of the attachments, I think I like the Dyson's better. Oh, here's another thing I noticed, there's hardly any hair on the vacuum when you finish vacuuming. The hair actually goes into the vacuum!!! My old Kirby and especially the Dyson look like they have grown a winter coat of their own and have to be vacuumed off before they go back in the closet. I just wiped it off with a damp paper towel and put it away. I'm really impressed with the Shark it works better than I ever imaged it would. Hope it lasts a long time, seems like it will.

I hate vacuuming but now I'm so into it!
I never write reviews but this product deserves it! I moved to a new home with hardwood and rugs. It was a mess from construction. I could hardly breathe the dust was so severe. This bad boy, With all the attachments allowed me to vacuum everything from floors to doors, walls, tightest corners! Look at how much it got! Mind you this is after I paid for a cleaning company which vacuumed and shampooed!

THIS IS WHY YOU NEED THIS VACUUM!!!!
Where to start! Can I give it like a 100 stars?!!! I absolutely love this vacuum!!! Previous owner of a eureka vacuum; (yuck) with in 5 mins of putting it together my 4 year old broke a glass cup in the bathroom; glass everywhere!!! Tiny shards where everywhere!!! I picked up the big pieces and took out the wand and went to town on the tile floor, it got everything shard of glass up! I went over the whole floor a few times just in case I missed any....I was pretty sold! But I had to run a few more tests... did the kitchen beautifully! And the living room, steps, the inside of the couch... I will never use another brand again! This vacuum does everything! It’s got the lift off part, it can do hard floors, it can do carpets it does it all!!!! Steps, can do your car(might need an extension cord) this bad boy can do it all! I love the attachments for it! And I love that the wand can detach too! One for longer reaches like curtains! And a short one as well! I prefer the long wand because who really wants to bend over if you don’t have too! It gets in all the nooks and crannies! Does everything! Have a cat? It vacuums up that so easy! I also love that you can control the suction strength! Depending on what kind of floor your vacuuming! Have kids big mess no problem! Crumbs in the couch after telling them for the billionth time to not eat on the couch no problem! Hubby got this for me, because as you can guess we are moving soon! Best thing ever! I love how it has two buttons for dumping dirt one on the bottom and one on top in case you get something stuck you can get it out! This is amazing! You absolutely need this vacuum! Everyone should have this vacuum! It’s capabilities are better than awesome! Love how it very versatile! Sorry about jumping all over the place! It’s late for me. But this is so worth every penny! I know it (mom of 3 boys!) get it! Get it now! You won’t regret it!!!!

YOU TOO CAN FIND THIS KIND OF LOVE
Let me first start off by saying... I've kissed a lot of vacuum frogs in my life. My relationship with this appliance has been turbulent and unfulfilling in the best of times. And it would inevitably end in some violence - on my part. I'm not proud of this. But, there's no doubt, vacuum cleaners were my most hated appliance. But now, for the first time, I am in love! I adore this vacuum. I gush about my Shark when given the opportunity. First off, I always found my ex-vacuums to be obnoxiously loud. Like a 747 plane. I would always put earplugs in my ears when I vacuumed. Fast forward to my Shark's arrival and I was so excited, I started using it right away. When I was done with one room, I then realized I forgot my earplugs! That doesn't mean it's quiet, it's just not a 747. More like a two-seater plane. Second, some of my old vacuums (some bagged, some canister) I could swear spewed dust into the air. My Shark doesn't seem to do this, since it has a nice, thick filter (which is a round, tube-shaped sponge) that can be washed. This is really important. Who wants to clean the house, only to have dust spit out into the air?! Third, it's pretty easy to clean. You soap up and rinse the canister and let air dry before putting it back in place. WAYYYY better than those horrible vacuum bags. I don't miss those things. And it swivels like a Dyson! But cheaper. The suction is fabulous. Though one day suction was not good and I couldn't find a blockage in the tube. I was worried that my Shark wasn't my dreamboat after all. But then I looked down and saw this round compartment near the back wheel that had debris. I bent down and realized the cover/cap was removable. I was able to remove the debris and put the cap back. Suction was back to normal! And the body of the Shark can be lifted off of the base if you need to do stairs or high-reaching areas! It's the real deal people. And you too can find this kind of love.

Really great vacuum.
Just arrived at my store and vacuumed all the carpets (which were just done the other day). The canister is half full. This is to replace my Shark Navigator that will come to the store. I cannot wait to use this at home and see how it deals with my very fluffy Maine Coon! I always loved my Shark Navigator but wanted an upgrade for the house. The one thing never mentioned is there is a dial on the front that controls suction. This a great feature for fabrics and curtains. Within a half hour of owning this, I am very pleased. UPDATE. Vacuumed with my old Shark Navigator on Monday. Vacuumed with the new Shark Thursday and this is what I got from just the living room. UPDATE 8/26/17 Within a few weeks of using this twice a week, the roller brush button would not stay clicked in. So here, I am pushing with my left hand and holding the button down with my right to have the brushes spin. I called Shark directly (I hadn't even registered it yet) and they sent me the unit that houses the button and the power cord, along with a new beater brush. I can't complain but still wonder how that button broke so quickly..

I own a cleaning service this is our new favorite!
Over 20 years we have tried every vac on the market we used to be Hoover or nothing, however, their new vacs are cheap and not durable like they used to be. After testing 3 of the new Hoovers and returning all 3 we then went straight to the expensive Dyson.....NOPE! Dysons are horrible unless your house is spotless dyson has the best cord at 35 ft and if you are cleaning an office building it would work great. The Dyson scream at you and make scary noises great for office not great for pets and kids. We then moved onto the shark BINGO it is our new favorite unanimous vote from all my team members! This thing picks up almost anything and we abuse our vacs cleaning at least 6 houses a day. If you have kids and pets this is the one! It is a great product great price!! I gave all 4 stars only because we have only had it in service for a month so we are still testing its longevity but so far so good!!

LOVE IT!!
I'm coming off of a 2nd gen kirby so my expectations were really high. I did a lot of research because I was surprised that a GOOD vacuum could be so cheap! My biggest complaint with my kirby was that it was so dang heavy! And to use attachments was so very cumbersome!! I decided on this one and I'm soooooo glad I did! It's super light! Easy to use! And the suction power is incredible! And I have 3 (THREE) dogs over 50lbs that shed like crazy! The shark keeps up with their hair and our regular home dust. I dont always remember to empty the canister and I don't see any difference in suction power. Another thing I like is that it doesn't blow the dust or hair away as you're vacuuming. My kirby would blow dust out the sides making it a longer chore...even with the wood floor attachment. The canister quickly detaches so I can do over head vacuuming. Something I wouldn't have dreamed of doing with the kirby because it's so heavy. One more thing...Me and my mom have LONG THICK HAIR and when I vacuum it up, it gets wrapped around the roller. It did this on the kirby as well. But the chore of cleaning it soooo much easier with my Shark. I take scissors and simply cut and pull. Maybe 5 minutes! On my kirby I'd have to detach the roller and then remove the hair caught and then reattach. It would take about 15 or 20 minutes. I have to do this once every 6 months not because it affects the suction, that's just about how often I think of it :D Overall I LOVE this little vacuum and I plan on getting one for my studio as well!

Set up was super easy, it's lightweight
Wow. This is the first big vacuum purchase I've made since living on my own. I remember not loving that chore and hating how loud the vacuums were that my mom had, and how many times I had to go over a section. I got this in the mail today and was so excited to use it. Set up was super easy, it's lightweight, it's not considerably noisy. I vacuumed a 5ft by 3ft section of my new apartment and could not believe how much it sucked up! I haven't use the attachments yet, but here's a picture of what I vacuumed in that small section, I did not take one after vacuuming the entire apt. If my opinion changes, I'll update my review. I have 3 cats and a large hound dog so I spent an entire week comparing and contrasting the top rated vacuums for carpets and pet hair. The Dyson was stupid expensive and the other shark rated above this one just had a stronger motor I believe. So this is the one I decided to spend my budget on and so far I don't regret it. You can also adjust the suction power on it!
