SO AMAZED!
My girls and I love fruit smoothies. What I don’t love is the time and money that is involved with it, so I began to search for options to make them at home. That is when I came across the NINJA PROFESSIONAL BLENDER (BL660). I have had a juicer for years, but juicing is different from a smoothie. Aside from that, the juice takes time in preparing to juice, but not only that, there is so much waste and the clean up takes work and time as well. Too much time and work. The combined time of preparation and cleanup is what hinders me from making juice drinks. So there it sits. Unused. I have purchased blenders in the past that claim to crush ice. Not even close to doing a good job, I was sorely disappointed and gave up on the idea of having any drinks made with ice. So you can imagine my hesitation in spending a large sum of money for a “quality” blender When looking at the blenders, watching Youtube videos on other blenders in comparison to the NINJA, I was sold. The next step was to to figure out what NINJA BLENDER was the right one for me. I am happy to report that the NINJA PROFESSIONAL BLENDER (BL660) is everything it says it is. I am VERY happy with the results. It does exactly as it claims. I am in awe in not only how well it crushes ice and mixes fruit to smoothness, but at how quickly it does so. So worth the money to have a quality blender that does exactly what it says. Aside from working so well, the cleanup is quick and easy. Yes. Quick AND easy.

Why buy something more expensive when this one does the job well!
We replaced an expensive blender ($400) that died after 5 or 6 years (old blender died with metal shot flying out everywhere) with this blender. We researched many more expensive ones and then decided to try this one verses buying another $400 or $500 blender. It is very powerful and straight forward to use. It is powerful and easy to clean too. We really like the cups that come with it for a quick personal smoothie! The design for pouring is very nice also! We have had no issues chopping up ice, ice cream, sherbet, yogurt and fruit (apples that were sliced, bananas, avocados, pears that were sliced, strawberries, raspberries, blue berries, celery, peanut butter, peanuts and a lot more. It has been two months using it and we really are glad we purchased this blender as it does everything we need - smoothies, shakes, deserts, puddings and energy drinks!

Amazing Blender!
I got this blender for my wife for Christmas. She always hated how our cheap, $50 blender couldn't handle ice when making smoothies. I didn't know anything about the Ninja, but it seemed to be gaining a lot of popularity so I decided to look into it. The thing that really sold me on this blender was simply the fact that it could handle ice like it's nothing at all (it can quite literally turn ice into snow in a matter of seconds) and even though I wanted a Vitamix, I just couldn't justify spending $400+ if this blender could do what we wanted it to do. I also liked that it came with the single serve option, because not only can we get rid of our Magic Bullet, but sometimes blending is a hassle because we don't feel like cleaning the pitcher. But with the single serve, it is a lot less hassle to clean, plus there isn't anything wasted because we can make just the right amount. Basically it has all the same benefits that the Magic Bullet does. And yes, even the single serve pitcher has no problem with blending ice. This blender is by far the best blender I have ever used. You can *easily* tell the difference between this blender and regular, non-high end blenders. But I also noticed that a lot of people seem to be comparing this to a Vitamix or Blendtec, and I'll say it's just not going to stack up compared to those blenders (there is a reason those blenders cost more than 3x the amount this blender does). So if you've got your heart set on a Vitamix or Blendtec, and for you having the absolute smoothest drinks are worth that kind of money, then you might as well take the plunge and get what you want. But if you're like me and simply wanted to have great smoothies, but you're not expecting Jamba Juice level quality, then this is a really great blender. A few things need to be said though: -The six blade technology seems great on paper, and has its advantages. But one downside is it makes it so you cannot fit as much into the pitcher as it takes up some room. That is probably why Europro gave this thing an extra large pitcher. But on the plus side, I've noticed a lot of cheaper blenders have problems with the contents getting stuck at the bottom near the blades while everything else above it doesn't get blended. That's usually because the cheaper blenders simply don't have the power to make a powerful enough vortex like the Vitamix does. Also, because of the Ninja's blades being shaped more like a food processor's blades, it makes it easier to make things like salsa using the pulse option. A regular blender tends to blend too much, even when using the pulse option. -The description is wrong, this unit is 1100W, not 1000W. -It makes AWESOME fruit smoothies. But I tried a green drink that was nothing but spinach, carrots, apples, and a cucumber. Aside from the fact that it was the nastiest drink ever, it was too pulpy to drink. I'm not sure how a Vitamix would have handled this disgusting concoction, but I've heard a lot of complaints that the Ninja doesn't handle green drinks very well. But I have found that if I essentially make a fruit smoothie, made of things like banana, strawberries, or blueberries, and then throw in a handful of leafy greens, it handles it very well. I'd recommend this blender to anyone who wants to have a good, heavy duty blender, but cannot afford to spend $400+ on a Vitamix. It's stylish, it makes the best smoothies I've had from a home blender around this price, and it's got a lot of power for a reasonable price. UPDATE 2/8/2013: My wife and I have been using this blender just about every single day, two to three times a day since getting it. So far it is still doing very well and working as good as new. But with more experience with it, I just wanted to give a little more details. If you're reading this review and wondering whether or not you should get this model of the Ninja or the regular $99 Ninja Pro without the single serve, I would say you should really get this Ninja. Because one problem I have found with the big pitcher is that it cannot grind flax seeds because the blade sits about an inch from the bottom of the pitcher. This means that if you put flax seeds (or some other grains) into the pitcher the blades will spin above the seeds and they won't get get ground. The only way around this is to put in enough flax seeds so that they can reach the blades. Or a better way is to use the single serve cups. The single serve cups have a more traditional blender blade set up that sits at the bottom of the cups and this makes grinding flax seeds a breeze. Also, there has been concerns with the Ninja making green smoothies. In general, fruit smoothies turn out very smooth in the Ninja blender. Green smoothies can also be done. However, it partly depends on what you consider a good smoothie. The Ninja can blend green smoothies to a drinkable consistency, and you'll never have a "chunk" to chew if you let it blend long enough (at least for a minute or two on speed 3) but it will often be gritty. However, the single serve cups are the key to make the green smoothies into a "Vitamix-like" consistency. In general the single serve cups make better smoothies than the big pitcher does. Also please see the comments on this review where I give a link to the basics of making a green smoothie. I think it can help people out a lot, as it really helped me. So what is the big pitcher good for aside from the obvious (more volume)? It can make great fruit smoothies, it can make drinkable green smoothies (but not as good as the single serve cups) and I use it to make homemade peanut butter! I just go to Winco and buy some dirt-cheap bulk peanuts and put them into the blender. Then I blend it on 3 for a few minutes and before I know it, I have a real, home-made peanut butter. Also, as I said before, because of the big pitcher's food processor-like blades, it does a really good job of chopping food without blending them. I use it all the time to "shred" cabbage for coleslaw, or chop onions. And of course, if I want a large volume of smoothies (even green ones) I'll use the big pitcher. Overall, if not for the single serve cups, I would probably give this blender a 4 out of 5 stars. But the single serve cups make up for the deficiencies of the pitcher. The main point is that the single serve cups can make fantastic smoothies while the big pitcher can only make great smoothies. But the big pitcher is good when used as a food processor, which the small cups cannot do. And the small cups are better for grinding grains like flax seeds. Final Update (10/9/2015): Since writing this review, there have been other blenders that are better choices and are much more affordable than a Vitamix. I would suggest looking into: Omniblend V, Oster Versa or even the Ninja Ultima. Each of those blenders will do a much better job than this blender, and any one of them are significantly cheaper than Vitamix (although you can get a refurb Vitamix for a pretty good price). This blender was good for the time, but as with most technology, time brought us better, more affordable (than Vitamix) options.

I was like wtf
Works great! I seriously recommend this for anybody blending fruits or vegetables or even ice. I was amazing like wtf amazed at the shredding power of this thing! Within 1 - 2 - 3 seconds everything was liquefied. Now lets just hope it lasts for years and not 1-2 years like every god damn blender I got on sale at walmart.

Highly Recommended
I bought this to replace my Nutribullet which was leaking badly, had a small capacity and smelled like smoke if I ran it for more than 45 seconds. I chose the Ninja because it was highly rated by consumer reports and the Nutribullet was lowly rated. I am very glad I bought this. It never leaks, it makes smoothies much smoother than the Nutribullet, has a much larger capacity and costs about the same. If I want to make an individual serving I can but most of the time I like to have a couple of large glasses of a smoothie and the Nutribullet or single serving size of the Ninja is not enough. This is worth every penny of the $90 and the Nutribullet in comparison should cost about $30 because it is 1/3 as good but it is way overpriced at $90 at most stores. The only negative is the pitcher doesn’t wash well in my crummy dishwasher but that might just be my dishwasher. Either way it is easy to wash by hand and probably prolongs the life.

Buy it - you will love it!
This review is really going to be simple. It works great and we love it!. We like the individual cups much more than we thought we would. We make smoothies in them all the time and the clean up is really simple. When we want to make something up in the bigger pitcher, it's a breeze as well. Both the cups and the pitcher clean up easily. The power behind both of these is better than any other blender we have ever had. This was a really good purchase and we recommend it to everyone looking at them.

My dream blender
OMG I’ve always wanted a Ninja ever since I was in college. I’m a gym rat and love smoothies after my workouts or beforehand for breakfast before my afternoon workouts. I used to have an Oster blender as a broke college student but it was so big, hard to clean and super loud. I saw this on sale for Black Friday and instantly bought it! It’s easy to clean. Has two separate cups to use for traveling. I don’t really use the big huge one since I only blend in the house. So I use the personal cup one and it’s so great. I don’t have to worry about making too much and wasting food. It also isn’t super loud. I can also easily chop ice. I had the hardest time with my last blender because I’d have to stop and clear the blades and the ice would just melt in that time lol (so annoying) but the Ninja does it effortlessly. I can blend while my newborn and toddler are sleeping which is great! It’s easy to store and I don’t have to hold the cup down to blend it’s so awesome. I highly recommend this to everyone!

I am very happy with it
Monster power. I have not had the Ninja Blender to long. But I have used the full size blender as well as the individual mixer cups. I have also used it to make an oreo crust for a dessert. I am very happy with it. Smoothies as easy as pie. Blends almonds so perfectly in the smoothie no big chunks. Ice cubes no problem. I clean after each use. I make sure it is completely dry before storing it for the next use. Just common sense. I have read about some complaints about the individual mixer cups leaking..... I say again COMMON sense. Don't over fill past the mark on the cup and make sure lid is on correctly you will not have a problem. Packaging was great, no way to move around in the box to get damaged. LOL... unless it is a UPS delivery...... They may lose it..... but cant damage it........ I Would Recommend !!

I made applesauce in it and it came out better than my usual method of an immersion blender
This was bought for making baby food for a tube fed baby. This works well for this base on what I see so far. Planning on putting the blender food through a strainer to help out. Haven't done this yet but so far no concerns. Ymmv. I made applesauce in it and it came out better than my usual method of an immersion blender. As other people say it is loud. But that should be expected with as much power as it has. I'm good with compromising noise for function. Also as others say, watch out the blades are sharp. Which is a good thing considering its function. They will cut you if you are not careful. They will also fall out of the blender if you are not careful. Easy enough to pull it out ahead of any pouring.

Intimidating at first, luckily this one comes with the small blender too!
So when my husband bought this I got upset because it's expensive plus it was absolutely huge but then I realised that it came with like a bullet sized version of the blender part with a small blade and everything and it's pefect! Easy to clean and use if it's just 1 smoothie you're makin, not so heavy and intimidating. Plus if I wanted to make enough for both of us the big version is there too. It's honestly the quality of the blenders we used when I worked at a smoothie place. Although I will say if you have minimal bench real estate then this is not for you.
