I have some serious back issues and bending down to use a normal dust pan has become quite the issue for me. I finally decided to invest in a stand up so I could clean with a little less pain and I am glad I did. Now, this is definitely not a tall stand up but I'm only 5'5 so that didn't really bother me. I definitely have to use a normal sized broom for the actual sweeping instead of the one that comes with it (solely because of my back), but it seems to be a good quality broom. This dustpan does not seem to leave the annoying line. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

Quality Product, Handy Tool

Sweeping small areas has just gotten easier for me with this handy tool. My favorite feature is the "fingers" at the top of the pan - just drag the broom through the fingers and lint and cat hair fall into the pan. I use it in the area of the litter box to tidy up regularly.

Perfect as if I designed it myself.

Absolutely flawless. Extremely sturdy. It's for perfect size broom and pan to use after the messy grand kids leave. Wet or dry the rubber gasket on the front of the pan firmly grips the floor for easy sweeping and disposal. Very impressive.

Makes the floors look good without having to sweep the whole thing.

This is my second purchase of this set. The first is dedicated to the room with the kitty litter box in it. Great for keeping kitty litter swept up. So then I bought a second one for traveling around the house sweeping up the stuff that falls off shoes, clothing, dust, every particle that falls on the floors. Great to have. No bending over to pick up the detritus of life.

This is the one!

I have been looking for a good quality broom and dust pan combination. Most of the inexpensive ones have a plastic that does not sit flat on the floor so dust and dirt goes under not in. If you go the professional route they are not much better. Either they don't lock in the open position or stay open all the time making storing difficult. The broom is made well nothing special but it works well sweeping the fine particles as well as large. I imagine it wouldn't do a good job sweeping up nuts and bolts but thats not my application. The dustpan has a nice rubber strip that lays flat and prevents particles from going underneath it. It locks open and closed for transport to the trash bin. The most important thing is that it picks up everything. The best feature is the red fingers across the top of the dust pan. They work perfectly with the broom provided. We have two cats and as you can imagine, a lot of cat hair. Usually when you sweep cat hair it always catches onto the broom bristles and I usually have to pull them off by hand. With this set those fingers pull through the bristles and take the hair off and it drops into the pan. NO BENDING. I thought when I bought it that it was a little pricey but I will be ordering another one for the second floor. You get what you pay for. Buy with confidence you will not be disappointed. By the way, I'm 5' 7" with a very bad back and I think it works perfectly. My mother is much shorter and it works for her as well. Nice product!

The "rake" on the bin part is WONDERFUL! With two large cats running around and me ...

I wish this was taller but as I didn't take the time to measure me so I can't take off points for that. The "rake" on the bin part is WONDERFUL! With two large cats running around and me with waist length hair, fur and hair is always clinging to the broom bristles and that rake cleans the hair clumps off so easily!! The groom does a great job is gathering up litter, dust, fur and hair and the bin is level with the floor so all of it gets in the bin. Very pleased!!

Great Product

I have another upright sweep set from OXO. I've had it more than 10 years and love it. I wanted a second one exclusively for the kitchen while the other, older one will be for my backyard porch area. Yes, the older set is still doing well and even the broom is of good quality, almost like new. I am in a wheelchair and this set makes it easy to sweep without holding & juggling so many things. The dust pan snaps tightly in the open position where you put it and this new feature of the bristles to clean the broom is a great idea. The set is lighter in weight than my old set, so this is much appreciated. Someone on crutches, in a wheelchair, not as steady on their feet or with a bad back can really appreciate this broom set and I highly recommend it to everyone who likes to keep their hands clean when sweeping up AND would rather stand up to do this chore. I agree with a few people who want the broom to be taller, but it's what I'm used to and that never bothered me, it's a back saver, pure and simple. PLUS, my older set is gray and this white set looks nice in my white kitchen!!!! Good price for a product that will last many years.

Best Purchase EVER

I feel like I've just discovered The Big Kahuna! I love this broom and dustpan. The way it is designed, it takes up very little space because the dustpan encloses the broom and flips up to prevent the broom from losing its shape. The dustpan also has little teeth on it to help the broom release anything which might be stuck to the broom. I have two long hair cats so it helps remove the hair which sticks to the broom.

Perfect

This is perfect. Not too short. I am 5'8". Broom is not too soft. The dustpan has a soft lip that stays flat on the floor when the dustpan is tilted up to keep the lip pressed against the floor so all crumbs and dirt go into the dustpan. I use this OXO product to sweep up food crumbs under the tables and chairs in a large dining room and the small items, dead bugs, pits of paper, leaves that are on the floor in hallways. Its small size is perfect for such "walk-around-and-sweep-up-what's-fallen-on-the-floor" tasks in the dining room and the connecting hallways. Well designed and made of good materials. Its light weight and small size is exactly what I was looking for to sweep up that occasional small item on the floors in a large community building with high traffic.
