If you’re considering at these you SHOULD buy them! I have had these for about a week and have put 10 or so miles on in quite icy conditions. I walk my dogs on trails that get very icy and have to skip many days due to ice. Today I trialled them on the hills of our trails which are steep and I have to normally go off the trail so I can stay upright. Today walked down center of trail and did not slip even once nor did I ever feel insecure. Last week we had a freezing drizzle which coated a parking lot and I trialled them on it and had the same results. They stay secure and so far I feel the best purchase I have made on Amazon.

I used these bad boys after it snowed a whopping 2 inches in Portland, Oregon the other day. I was running around Portland like Usain Bolt. I didn't slip a bit. Best < $20 purchase ever. Even if they break after one season, I'll get another pair.

Just received my Yaktrax and returned from walking my dog. Am in love with them! We are having a brutal winter in ND with so much snow, ice, etc. I now feel safe when I head out for a walk and don't feel like I am taking a chance on falling. The Yaktrax stretch on easily and quickly, fitting all my different pairs of boots, and grip the ice and snow so nicely. I wear a size 9 1/2 shoe and ordered the medium. So happy with this purchase!

My friend bought a pair of these last winter and I had bought a pair that just strapped on my boots with Velcro. The Velcro kept coming undone and would never stay on my boots. So this winter I opted to buy the Yaktrax, so happy with these! My shoe size is 8.5 and I bought a medium and they fit perfect on my boots. I have no choice about going outside in icy, snowy weather, as I live on a ranch in Idaho and have horses to take care of and I can't afford, at my age, to fall on ice. These are perfect, black ice, snow - you name it and these keep you upright with confidence. However, you do not want them on your boots when you go into a store with tile. Common sense really but I had to walk very gingerly while in a store with these on. I highly recommend the Yaktrax's!

These work amazingly well for increasing traction on snow and compacted snow (whether by people or by car tires). However, these don't really do anything for ice, it feels just as slippery. Just keep in mind that while these cleats do dramatically increase traction, they're not invincible. You will still slip if you're not careful. These also aren't that effective on super slushy snow. Certainly better than not having these at all, but not great overall. Strongly recommend buying these if you live somewhere where it regularly snows. I've only had these for a week so I can't really say anything about durability. But so far nothing about the build quality concerns me. There's no good way to hold these cleats/the water that melts from these cleats when you do get indoors though. Putting these on is an easy 20 second process. I do it standing because there's usually not somewhere for me to sit to put these on when I'm walking between buildings. It's not that hard. Taking them off takes basically no time.

These are wonderful! Got a chance to use them the day they arrived. Our steep driveway is covered with ice and snow so I was relieved to see they have great grip. I was concerned about what size to purchase. I wear a size 8-1/2 shoe and boot. I wanted to wear them over my clumsier boots and was concerned about the SMALL being too hard to put on. I went with the MEDIUM and I'm glad I did because they slipped on my boots effortlessly and didn't slip, fall off or feel sloppy when wearing them. They also fit my L.L. Bean Snow Sneaker, Size 8M. Time will tell if they stretch but for now they are a perfect fit. Glad I got them and would highly recommend them.

I live in a rural mountainous area of the US East Coast where there is a strong need for shoe traction cleats perhaps only abut once every 5 or 6 years. However, the past 5 or 6 days here have been a bit of a record-setter, with tons of ice and ice-covered snow, making walking outside without cleats or crampons extremely dangerous. So, I ordered a pair of these traction cleats from Amazon Prime a few days ago, and, because I was concerned that they might, at times, not offer sufficient traction for walking on hard ice on slopes (my home ls located on a mountainside, and the entire yard has a slope of 22 degrees), I also ordered from Amazon, at the same time, a pair of true metal cleats for shoes as well (it was STABILicers Walk Traction Ice Cleat and Tread for Snow & Ice). Well, I have been using the Yaktrax Walk Traction Cleats extensively for a couple of days now, and I must admit that I am extremely impressed with their performance. They work great for walking on snow, ice-covered snow, and, despite my earlier concerns that they might not be up for the job, I have found that they are great even for walking on hard smooth ice on a slope, I am extremely impressed! The performance of these inexpensive shoe traction cleats has greatly exceeded my expectations. BTW, I have size 12 feet, and I bought the Large size, and the fit perfectly, and every snugly, on both my running shoes (I tend to wear running shoes year-round, except for walking in very deep snow) and on my two pairs of winter hiking boots, which I rarely wear. I expect that these shoe traction cleats will last me for years, because I will be wearing them for only a few days each year, and only for an hour or two each day during those periods, as I wear them while walking to our mailbox (125 feet downhill, down a steep slope), while feeding my poultry (the entire poultry pen sits on a slope), while shoveling snow or applying ice melter, or while walking 130 feet uphill to visit my meditation dome or lab/workshop.

As of typing this, I have had these for 1 year (2 winters). I've used them enough to actually review them. These are great. Every year in the past I've slipped in snow or ice. With these on, I have yet to slip or fall. The size fits perfect around the 2 pairs of work shoes I have. They stay put and haven't come off or broke while using them. One thing I will say, take your time to make sure they are put on properly. Sometimes the outer rubber part doesn't slide all around your shoe when putting on. If that happens, correct it BEFORE walking on the cleats. If you don't, you might break/tear them or they might come off in the snow and ice. Taking them off is easy with the rubber pull tab on the back, near the heal. Just be careful, dirt, ice, leaves, sand, etc can get caught up in the shoe tread and cleats. Debris may go flinging everywhere when taking these off. I also like how there are no spikes to mess up floors or whatever the cleats touch. These are only rated for walking around in but I've used them for normal snow and ice clearing activities with no problem. Excellent to keep on hand in the winter months.

Wow these are well worth the price. I'm getting older and decrepit and not as spry as I like to think I am. If you have ever slipped on ice and laid there thinking @$%&&!@ that hurt. Well, you need these. We haven't seen bare ground in any amount since Thanksgiving here and at one point we had thawing temps and rain in the evening followed up by cold and snow. Well a lot of the property we walk on is just sheet ice under the snow. I use these on an older pair of Sorrells/Pac that have the rubber bottoms that are worthless on ice slip my Yaktrax on and no worries. My wife leaves them on her pair of outdoor type slip on mocs and changes shoes inside. She teaches grade school and between the ice parking lot and recess when the weather breaks she swears by these. Most of the time ice fishing there is enough snow cover to get by without a traction device but I will never try that again. This is actually the fourth pair I have purchased this winter. They make great gifts for old timers like me.

This review requires some context. I live in Portland, which occasionally has winter ice storms. Not every year. Walking gets treacherous and scary. During the one in December 2016, it occurred to me that cleats or something would make walking safer. I found these and ordered them. The storm would be over by the time they arrived, but better to buy them while I was still thinking about it. When the arrived, I tried them on. Seemed well made, worked well with the heavy walking shoes I normally wear. They'd obviously wear out with constant use, but that's hardly an issue for me. So I put them on a shelf, expecting them to stay there for a year or two. Ha! A few weeks later was the January 2017 Snowstorm, one of the worst in Portland's history. City shut down for over a week. Sidewalks were covered with drifts almost a foot high, and too many property owners didn't bother to clear them, so in a couple days a lot of sidewalks had these treacherous mounds of ice. I was *very* glad I had bought these cleats. People complain that they wear out easily. What do you expect for $15? If you need to walk in snow and ice a lot, invest in something more substantial. For those of us who just need them occasionally, these are perfect.
