I first purchased this Ame product from ShopKo and I don't think there was a whole of difference in quality. I like this as a college student as a quick and temporary closet. Both shelves have lasted me awhile and are sturdy. They hold a lot of clothes and weight. It's a great item when you know you have to move a lot. The instructions that come with are pretty good, but I would recommend having a rubber mallet to lightly tap some rods when assembling to get them all the way in and make it even. I have a hanging mirror on one side and used to have command hooks all over the sides for belts and jewelry. I can't emphasize how great it was as a college student with limited space and lots of moves planned!! I gave my first one to a friend after using it for two years myself, then needed one again, so happily re-purchased this product, knowing it'd be good and it would last. I would buy again.

After reading many of the reviews, I was skeptical about this product. I really think a lot of folks are not assembling it with enough force. The plastic pieces and metal rods are very sturdy but you have to put a good deal of weight on the rods until they "snap" into the connectors. Put the plastic piece on top of the rods and push down with your weight until they lock into place. I have it loaded down with heavy clothes -- jeans, coats, etc. and it holds everything up great. It's maybe a bit wobbly but much better than some of the cheap-o units I've seen. My only complaint is I wish there were a bit more clearance between the top rod and the shelf, since it's a bit difficult to get hangers on/off the rod.

Great wardrobe. I need two or more to actually hold all my stuff. This where I put most of the clothes I got for my birthday.

I bought one and was so happy with it, I bought two more over the next few months. I am using them in an open plan industrial live/work studio space. These are great for dividing the area for privacy and using as a clothes closet and for other storage. *** I bought the Whitmore charcoal grey covers and they look really nice. I would not use them without the covers. As far as weight and sturdiness, they are okay. They do sway a tiny bit when loaded down, but you can put lightweight stuff on top. Overall I am very happy with these.

Whitmor storage solutions are just amazing! The price, ease of set up, and functionality have helped me organize my home and I couldn't be happier! I still have more work to do in the closet of the picture I posted but I wanted to give a general example.

This is actually MUCH more sturdy than i was expecting! Easy to put together & holds a surprising amount of clothes. The only real downside is my dress shirts hang below the lower bar by several inches (meaning they bunch up). On the surface this is a minor inconvenience, but it means the hook for garments hung on the lower bar will rub the bottoms of my dress shirts. And you can forget about hanging a suit or dress... For me, the only solution was to remove the bottom bar & pop a few small boxes down there.

This is an update to my review below. I bought a second rack because I like the first one so well and it is working great! I added more photos to show how to put together. This time, I was able to put together by myself and without additional tools (unless it bothers your hands to hit hard against the plastic, then I would recommend a rubber mallet). Overall this rack amazed me. I bought it as a temporary solution while transitioning and it is still holding strong. I did not think it would hold so well but I am going to buy another. When putting it together, I would highly suggest having a second person and a rubber mallet to help you connect the poles and the plastic pieces together (unless you have very strong hands and do not might hitting them hard against the plastic). A couple of my black pieces had slightly broken edges but due to the timing, I decided not to send the items back for replacement. I am glad that I did not because it truly did not make a difference and I do see them as well (I do recommend sending back or requesting new pieces if they effect the stability). I currently have women's dress/work shirts on the top hanging rack, multiple pairs of slacks on the lower hanging rack, towels and random items on the shelves to the side and a few light-weight items across the top. I do think the hanging racks would hold jeans but because of the weight and not wanting to risk it, I folded mine and placed them on the bottom rack. I have not moved the rack since I put it together and I cannot speak to how it does when being moved but I am sure that if you take your items off the rack, move it to it's new location and then add the items back, everything will be fine! Again, I would highly recommend and hope that you enjoy yours as well.

I don't have I closet in my room and my clothes stayed in laundry baskets and was always wrinkled. So I got tired of it and I decided to look on here and after goin through about a hundred different ones, and reading all the reviews I decided to go with this one. I honestly love it so far it was easy to put together and it holds all of my clothes and shoes. It is very sturdy, it does not bend or lean like a few reviews said. I absolutely love it!!!

Decent organizer, especially for the price. After reading reviews on here, I made absolutely sure each piece was secure, as I assembled the organizer. I'm not overly "handy", but I had this together in about 20-25 minutes, and that's including disassembling a few pieces, after I became overconfident and put a piece in the wrong place. Anyhow, I had been looking for an organizer to put into an existing closet, that only measures 46" wide (so all the 4' organizers were out). After piecing this together, I popped off my closet doors, and the organizer fit like a glove. For those concerned about weight, not sure if this helps, but I used this organizer to put my knit sweaters on the top rack, hoodies on the bottom rack, and stacked my long sleeve shirts in the cubbies. I wouldn't say there are hundreds of pounds on the thing, but it's packed. Thus far, I've experienced no leaning, sagging, or other indication of a structural issue. I'd recommend, and would definitely buy again.

Very sturdy. No issues putting together. The directions say no tools but I suggest using a small hammer to securely insert the bars. Great for closet expansion.
