Cuisinart is the best...period!

What you'd expect from Cuisinart! Great toaster - thickest bagels fit! Darkness adjustment works very well. did NOT upgrade to motorized up & down because I wanted the manual extra lift! I just reviewed this on the Cuisinart site: This toaster actually toasts! I bought Cuisinart because I respect the brand and because I knew if it didn't operate as advertised, they'd stand behind it. We're using it mostly for bagels - I like mine toasted dark, and "7" does it dark. My wife likes a "4" setting and with the numeric display, you don't have to guess. The countdown indicator and the beep-when-done features mean you don't have to hover over the toaster. I didn't get the one with the motorized lower & raise because I want the ability to extend the lift level for those shorter items.

A bit more lightweight than I expected - I was hoping for a beefy, weighty thing. This looks good but is kind of light -- but really, who cares? I REALLY like that there are four slices - two for wifey, two for me. The thing is only used for like 4 minutes a day, but I'll be darned if it's not the exact same four minutes we both want it NOW. This avoids all issues relating to whose toast is more important at 6:46 a.m. Also, she likes a "1" and I like a "4" - so that's handy also. The big blue numbers are really nice - amazing how much less often I have it on wrong setting - as opposed to prior toaster which had a little knob that I never looked at until the smoke came out and I'm like "HEY WHO PUT THE STUPID THING ON 9????" Looks good on the counter, matches the SS dishwasher and fridge. Also like the extra push up for small pieces of toast.

Great Toaster

I bought this toaster based on the reviews of a similar model (CPT-420). The 420 is leverless and I was a little nervous about the potential for something to go wrong with that, versus the tried and true push-down/pop-up version. The reviews on this model are not as good, which is strange since they are identical except the lever. I considered this toaster to be a splurge but I eat toast every morning and I'm kind of particular about it. Anyway, I highly recommend this model. The toast is not dry, which is what impressed me the most.

Perfectly Brown's keto bread

I used this for the first time today with some keto bread which is notoriously hard to brown. On the 4 setting it evenly toasted my bread on both sides, very much an improvement over my Krups two slice toaster. It does have a bigger footprint, not quite double the size of a two slice one, but finding the counter space was worth it. There don't seem to be any long and narrow ones anymore. Very happy with it so far.

Exactly what I needed to get the family going.

We have 3 kids who all like morning toast or waffles. With our old 2 slot toaster, which took forever to toast, making these for the kids was an 8-10 minute ordeal. When I only have 30 minutes in the morning to get everyone ready, that's a problem. So I was looking for two things, and this hit both of them. 1 - 4 slots so everyone's toast can go at once 2 - Quick. On level 5 I timed it at 2 minutes 15 seconds, and it was a bit past what they like. So I can shave off more time by setting it to 4 I found the toast comes out with one side more toasted...but only when I make a single piece and I put that piece in a middle slot. So not a big deal. Some people have complained about the beep. They must be extra sensitive. The ca-chunk of the old toaster rising was louder than this beep. Certainly wouldn't wake up anyone. Hopefully this toaster lasts for years to come.

I absolutely love this toaster

I absolutely love this toaster. I was getting so sick and tired of having toast that was burned on one side and not even toasted on the other. We googled which brands were the best, but we didn't want to spend a couple hundred bucks on a toaster. (frowny face).. We thought this would be a good toaster and the price was reasonable for us. It is such a pleasure to have toast that is equally brown on both sides. I love that you can program each side individually. My husband like his just one step short of cremated, and I like mine nice and brown, so we are both happy. I also like the fact that you can cancel the toasting if you think it is done enough (before, I had to pull out the plug to cancel) It also has a nice little "ping" when the toast is done so that you can take it out and butter it before it gets cold. Highly recommend this product. Come on, you can buy 3 toasters which don't do a good job, or one that will make you happy forever for a reasonable price....

Perfect Bagles. Very Happy.

Purchased this toaster to replace a 15 year old Black & Decker that I was never that happy with. When the B&D quit working on one side, I was finally justified in replacing it. Ordered this toaster on a Friday, and received it in time for breakfast on Sunday (Bless you Amazon). The LCD display is nice, it shows you the countdown to exactly when your toast is finished. Both sides do finish at the same time too. As some have mentioned Bagels, I feel I must give my opinion. They come out perfect. You place the bagel cut side towards the center post, as the icons indicate on the top of the toaster. I find that setting 5 is what I/We prefer. The bagel comes out perfectly toasted on the cut side, and warm, but still soft on the back. Bread toasts a nice even color on both sides of the, and is warm but not dried out. One last thing I feel compelled to address, the high pitched sound some have mentioned. I don't have that with my toaster. There is the double beep when the toast pops up, but the display shuts off after a few minutes, and no whine, or sound otherwise. I can't speak of durability, as have only had a week. But after daily use. Very happy with the purchase.

So far it is good

It has only been a month or so, but it has been great to have a toaster that actually works. We went through 2 toasters in a year and it was fairly obvious when we first brought them home that they would not last long. This has a durable feel to it and it does a great job of toasting. The last toaster we had would barely brown the toast on max setting. This one will start burning toast on 5 out of 7. It does great on gluten free bread but you have to put it on 7 to start getting it toasty.

Best ever

Although we had a delivery issue and this was definitely an open box I am not deducting a star for Amazon mistakes. This toaster is absolutely the best I ever had. Works as promised makes great toast. Love the countdown and beeps when the toast is done. Even did my bagel great. Great looking also. As long as it lasts we’re very happy

High quality, versatile toaster

Toasts evenly. The "Bagel" setting (one side only) toasts English muffins very nicely when I raise the time/toasting level to 7. Bread takes only level 3. I like that the proper placement for bagel-style toasting (which side you want toasted) is clearly marked on the toaster. It's very simple to operate, and the "defrost" setting lets me toast frozen pastries quickly and correctly: first a quick defrost, then toasting to perfection. The toasting slots are wide enough to handle a variety of breads. The stainless steel construction is sturdy without being heavy. The LED screens are well lit and very clear. The instruction booklet is clearly written and easy to understand, plus it taught me a couple of things. In short, best toaster I've had so far.
