I still haven't had one split even at the opening above the seal. The clarity of these bags is good as well.
I store all by small jewelry in these bags. I rarely ever have to clean my jewely. Here is a little extra advice. Go ahead and buy the bigger size as well. You will need it for your necklaces and your large bracelets.
They're small plastic bags that seal shut with a zip lock, what more can you say. I will say these are easier to seal than other ones I have used before so there is that. Good product and one I can recommend.

Attached a couple pictures including one with length measurement. They're not super sturdy like the freezer ziplocs, but they're sturdy enough - kind of like the sandwich ziploc bags. Highly recommended if you're not looking to do some crazy heavy duty stuff in these.
