Much better than expected!
When I purchased this I thought it was going to be a lot "dinkier" than it is. I have read many many reviews on sim adapters and figured that these would be garbage. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that both the cutter and the adapters are very good. The cutter looks like a stapler in the images but it much smaller than I expected. It is all stamped steel except for the press mechanism itself which is solid steel. I had so much doubt I tested it on an old sim to verify that it worked. The cutter did the job just fine actually. Once cut, the sim did require a little sanding to smooth out the rough edges, but that's to be expected. The now nano sized sim fit beautifully into the adapters provided and then into a sim tray with no problem. The cut sim actually does press into the adapter and is held by the pressure retention. The only complaint I have is that the instructions are on the box provided, which means that once I lose the box I will have to somehow remember how to orient the sim to cut.

It works just like a stapler but may require a little more force ...
(Skip to next paragraph for review) (Story how i got this)This probably saved my life(and money). I recently switched from an S4 which uses a micro sim, to an s6 edge which uses the nano sim. I didnt know this at the time and tried fitting the micro sim into the nano slot and was getting frustrated because it wouldn't fit. I saw tutorials and videos on how(and if you could) cut a sim card to make it smaller and have it still work. Turns out you could! So being the cheapskate i am, i almost attempted cutting the sim card myself with a pair of scissors and thought. "dang this is too sketchy". So i finally caved in and bought this! This miracle device cuts your micro sim(or larger) into the size of a nano sim! It comes with adapters so you can cut whichever size sim you have with ease. It works just like a stapler but may require a little more force than one. It does look like it cuts part of the metal part off when you look at the final cut but the sim card will still work. (Mine is still working) It does come with a nice little sand paper to file down the card if it is too thick. Great product! Would recommend if you're looking on sizing down your cards for whatever reason!

Simple and very effective.
I needed to cut a micro SIM down to a nano for use in a new phone. I considered just going into a local phone store to see if they'd do it since this is something I'd not do often. This is so inexpensive, and highly rated, it wasn't worth my time to drive around and find someone that wouldn't screw up my SIM. I wish I'd gotten one of these sooner. I recently went through hell with a friend gifting them my old phone, and watching the local VZ store struggle to figure out how to activate a new nano SIM for the person. Cutting the old SIM would have been far easier. Now I've got a tool for these rare occurrences. While there's no included directions, if you know why you need this, you should be able to figure it out. I saw at least one review where the person had cut their SIM wrong. While you can only put the SIM in the included metal tray one way, you can put the tray into the cutter upside down. The cutter has an engraved icon to show what the orientation should be though, so as long as you "measure twice, cut once", you're good to go. Others commented how it cut into the gold contacts of their SIM. I tested this on a few junk SIMs I had first (see above on orientation), and noticed this. However, on my activated SIM, it lined up perfectly. I think some SIMs simply have a larger contact area than others. In any event, it won't harm the SIM and it will work fine. The included adapters to allow you to use your newly cut SIM in larger slots is a nice touch, as is the included SIM removal tool. I love a good, simple tool that does what it says, at a good price. This is such a tool.

Perfect Solution
I was really nervous to use this. I have the unlimited data plan from Verizon and they have been trying to kick me off for years. My old phone used a micro SIM and I ordered the Galaxy S7 that takes a nano SIM (I didn't realize this until after I had received the phone). When I tried to activate the phone with the nano SIM that it came with, I kept getting messages that I had to change my plan-even if I indicated that I didn't receive a SIM. I did lots of research and read lots of reviews knowing that there was a strong possibility that I would get kicked off of my plan if I damaged the SIM from my old phone. My advice is to make sure that you line the SIM up prior to cutting it. This was done by simply holding the SIM in place after you inspect the line up, and turning it around on a flat surface to make the cut. If you are careful, things will work out fine.

Decent Quality at Reasonable Price, Instant Gratification with your New Cellphone
I purchased this cutter after viewing several videos where people had cut their larger SIM Card down to the Nano SIM size used in today's products. It cut cleanly with the need for any further smoothing or trimming and the SIM Card worked perfectly. This strongly resembles a medium-sized desk stapler, but instead has a punch that cuts through your existing SIM Card and deposits a nicely-formed Nano SIM out the bottom. It took longer to read the instruction images than it did to adapt the Card. I did take a few minutes to notice the instructions were lightly printed on the box, but once I looked at those images with a magnifying glass it was fast and simple to get this accomplished. I also appreciated the inclusion of a Tray Release pin. While there is one included with any cellphone that stores the card in a tray, they are not always easy to find in today's overly clever industrial packaging. There were cheaper punches available, but I feel the US$8 paid for this was a bargain, and it avoided any contact or over-zealous fees from my cellular provider. I highly recommend this unit, and the SELLER delivered it very promptly, the same day my Google Pixel arrived.

Put tool on top of something soft like a notebook and do it on a solid table
Brought this to cut a mirco SIM into nano for my Honor 5x. Tool is well made and cutting process is simple. Here are some pointers. 1. Make sure micro SIM is flushed perfectly with the silver metal tray. I pushed SIM into the tray using my thumb on top of a notebook to give it some support. Next, insert tray into tool, make sure gold SIM metal contact is facing out AND the corner cut of the SIM tray is on the same side as the tool. Before making the cut, push tray fully inside the tool and hold it with the tip of your finger. The tray is loose and may move accidentally if not secured. Put tool on top of something soft like a notebook and do it on a solid table. Put you palm on top of the tool and give it a good push down. Do not hesitate, make it one smooth slow motion. It does not require a lot of force. Another reviewer compared the force to punching 15 sheets of paper using a 3-hole puncher. I say that's about right, maybe just a little less effort. Finally, smooth the edge of the nano SIM with either included sandpaper or a nail filer. This is an excellent product, took me just a few minutes to do the job. The cutter did not remove gold contact on any sides. It came really close and my understanding is even if it did remove a tiny bit of the contact, it is ok. The actual circuit is in the middle of the SIM.

Nexus 6 on Verizon? Buy this!
Exactly as advertised. Used it to cut two Verizon micro-SIM cards to nano-SIM cards for Nexus 6. Worked perfectly. Nice touches: - Includes adapters to use your newly-cut nano-SIM card in full size SIM or micro-SIM slots. - Includes a tiny square of fine-grit sand paper to clean up edges of your newly-cut nano-SIM. NEXUS 6 ON VERIZON Just wanted to offer some advice to anyone who is planning on activating a Nexus 6 on an existing Verizon account right now. Since Verizon has not yet added the IMEI numbers for ANY Nexus 6 phones into their whitelist, they will NOT be able to activate your new phone for you in store or over the phone. That being said, if you already have an active Verizon nano-SIM card, you can simply pop it into your Nexus 6, and it will work just fine. No need to go to the store or call Verizon's customer service. Of course, this depends on you already having a Verizon nano-SIM. Which is where this nifty little device comes in. If you already have a Verizon SIM or micro-SIM, just use this to cut it down to a nano-SIM, pop it in your shiny new Nexus 6, and you're good to go.

Great price for a great product!
I needed to cut down my full size sim to a nano sim for a new phone, which I still had not received. Unfortunately I only had this one sim available and if I messed that up when cutting it, I would be without a phone until I could locate a replacement sim. So when my nano sim card cutter arrived in the mail, I unpackaged it and looked everything over. It looked so simple to use and also included adapters to make my sim fit larger sizes once it was cut. So I placed my sim in the cutter in the direction that was clearly stamped into the metal near the slot, held my breath, and pushed down on the handle I pulled the larger part of the sim back out of the slot, and looked under it to find my nano sim. The cut looked great and I didn't see any problems with it at all. I then used the included sandpaper to smooth the edges just a bit, and to sand off a portion of the back of the sim because nano sims have to be slightly thinner than full size. I checked it by placing it into the included adapter to make my newly cut nano sim fit my old phone's micro sim slot. I placed it in the phone and it works just fine. My new phone comes in today so I'm sure it will work great for that too, when I switch them over. I've included pictures of my full size sim after the cut. You can see how the edges are quite clean.

Snip and go! FANTABULOUS product!
So I've read all the stories about people's sim cards getting ruined with card cutters. NOT HERE! I opened the box and stared tentatively at the product. What is this thing? Looks like a stapler. I'm not putting MY sim card into that thing, I said... THEN I pulled the sim card out of my other phone and dumped out the little bag that comes with the punch and found that my micro sim card fit nicely into the steel slide that comes IN the LITTLE bag. So I carefully slid my sim card in and it's very visible (the gold that carries your data) and ensured it was properly seated and went SNIP and inserted it into my new phone. Before I could do anything I pushed the little handset icon on my phone and poof (!) all my contacts came flying over (not thrilled with that as I don't like MOST of those people and was hoping to just eliminate them from my phone). But I called my landline to ensure clarity and sent some messages to ensure all it working. PERFECT! Popped the card out and put it into one of the adapters (the BIG one) and put it into a very old phone and it worked immediately. Popped it back out and it is now comfortably seated in my permanent phone. NANANANA!....phone service provider... I don't have to go NEAR your store so that you get my information to have a card cut for my phone. I don't want my unlocked phone touched (they always end up with proprietary information on them when you go near a store... that's a big reason we BUY unlocked phones to start with... to avoid that). My phone is set and ready to go and should I need to use a different device, the adapters (while they are not the sturdiest on the planet, will do nicely.

It does the job
This little device comes with everthing you need if your new phone uses a different sized sim card. Perfect for those of us that just can't wait for the free replacement card to arrive and then have to deal with an hour on the phone to try and activate it. One piece of advice. After getting it set up, check that the metal contacts show up in the window at the bottom. If not, you didn't use the right blank for your sim or you have your sim upside down. You will ruin the sim. If they show up, you are good to go. A tiny bit of the metal contacts was cut off on my sim, but it is still working fine months later.
