Excellent Products that Never Disappoint
This is my fifth purchase of a server rack drawer from NavePoint and definitely not my last. I've also purchased several of their other products including sliding rack-mount shelves and stationary rack-mount shelves. I'm a sucker for rack rails and cabinets because they keep everything nice and organized. I have them in my home office, garage, workshop and my main office in NYC. NavePoint consistently delivers an extremely well made product and at extremely competitive prices. The drawers roll smoothly as they open and close, never getting bound up. They stay straight and true over the years and the locking mechanisms glide like the day they were made. I've had to use graphite on some of my units from other companies but I've not yet had any problems with NavePoint products. My one gripe (and it's a small one) is that all of the locks that they use on their various drawers are keyed the same way - meaning the key from the drawer I purchased last week will open a drawer I purchased last year. This is both a blessing and a headache all at the same time. It's convenient not having to sort through a zillion keys to open a drawer that holds XLR cable; however, if you want to secure anything more valuable than that, then you'd have to go buy a new cylinder. Again, most of what I keep in these drawers isn't exactly lock-worthy so it hasn't been a huge deal for me but it may be for you. At the end of the day, I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase. If you're reading this review to help you decide on purchasing or not, then my opinion is to click that "add to cart" button.

I use this in my live rig and it works great. I have it racked up in a small SKB and keep it full of the neccesities I need at a gig. I'll throw a few mics in there, extra guitar tuner, strings, capo, picks, etc... to have on hand and quickly. My TC Electronics racked FX unit also has the ability to connect a foot controller to mute the unit. I keep the pedal for that stored in there because you can knock a few holes out of the back of this thing so I'm able to run the cable in behind. I also run a power cable into the drawer to feed my ipad, etc... that I'll leave running to pipe music through the PA, etc... and it's nice to have it in there with the drawer locked (my PA also runs off a iPad (Mackie DL1608) so having the locking drawer to put important stuff in that's easy to walk away with is nice. If I'm doing an early setup I can setup mic's to check then unplug them and store them in the drawer so that no one is tempted to lift one off the stand. Good stuff - happy with the purchase. But, this thing is on the heavy side.

Great Rack Cabinet Drawer
I have other rack drawers in my work station. This is priced great, the whole's lined up, no problems. What I really like is the handle is setup on top where you pull the drawer out. The other rack drawers I have the handle is on the bottom, so I always need to push down on the others BEFORE I pull out the drawers. So when I need another drawer, I'll be coming back to Navepoint.

Fantastic
I can’t remember what I paid for it, but whatever it was, it was worth it. This thing is super strong. I put foam in the bottom and sides and I keep all of the wireless mics in here and lock it up

Great value
The good: * Overall solid feel * It's not a drawer inside of an enclosed box, this means stuff doesn't get stuck inside. * It has knock out ports in the back so you can run cable through if you need (for me it's an external eSATA dock for server backups) * The runners are solid and smooth letting the drawer slide in and out easily. The Okay: * The metal is thinner than some of it's competitors, but I if I wanted something that couldn't be yanked open by a determined individual I would go for a more industrial level product. The bad: Honestly I've not found anything about it yet, if I do I'll update the review.

Nice rack drawer
I really like this rack mount drawer. I needed a place to stash things for quick access. Being that I needed only a two post for my needs, I am not sure that it would be road worthy, I have the three U drawer, two post, so I'll need to be mindful of the weight limit. I will add a strap hanger to the rack for added support.

Excellent quality at a nice price point
I replaced two old ADAT studio recorders with one of these drawers. Why just one? In order to check out the quality before ordering a second one. Well, to make a short story shorter, I just ordered the second one. The quality is beyond my expectations, it was double-boxed for shipping so there was no damage and while there are less expensive rackmount doors out there, I doubt that the quality matches this one. It is well worth the asking price. All Pros, no Cons.

Multipurpose to fit your needs
Great drawer for your rack. It works great and provides great storage for items that would typically clutter up our sound area. Also, the knock out holes allow you to run wires into the drawer. We are able to store our battery charging stations on the drawer and charge our batteries in there in a organized way.

Great for Fixed/Permanent Install
After looking at the reviews for this cabinet I was a bit torn, but ultimately decided to get it. Boy I'm sure glad I did. It works perfectly for me. I do a lot of tech stuff at my church and needed a storage solution for our wireless handheld microphones when they aren't in use. Before they sat on a tabletop and have been damaged as a result of being knocked to the ground. Now I'm happy to say: Problem Solved! As you can see in the photos, I lined the inside with 2" tall Acoustic Foam, which gave me 7 spots to securely place microphones. I purchased 2 12" by 12" squares, cut 3" off one and glued them together with some carpet/headliner adhesive spray. It gave me the full 16" across. I packed a row of foam along the back of the drawer as well. This I happened to have lying around, but I could've cut this from the remaining acoustic foam. As advertised, this mounted to my standard audio equipment rack and took up 3 Spaces. I had no issues with it fitting properly or obstructing the equipment above and below it. The drawer does not have a latch but remains securely closed and will not slide open on its own. The drawer pulls out smoothly and freely. I will not use the lock feature on it so I simply took a screw driver and removed the locking latch Inside. The drawer is a bit on the lightweight side and I can see how it could get damaged if moved around a lot in a mobile setup. Just remember the application of this product. First and foremost it's a network server cabinet, and will hold up perfectly fine in a fixed install. I feel that for the price of this unit and some foam, it's a fantastic value, especially when it's purpose is to protect almost two thousand dollars worth of equipment. On another note.... After reading some other reviews I felt compelled to add one and hopefully clear up any confusion with the product. Based on the many descriptions and photos, it was hard to determine the exact dimensions of the product as there are some conflicting reports. The outer shell of this unit is approximately 5 1/4" tall, 13 1/4" deep, and 17 3/8" wide (19" when you add the rack rails). The internal drawer measures approximately: 4 3/4" tall, 13" deep, and 16" wide. The drawer, when full pulled out, leaves 11 7/8" unobstructed space to place items into the cabinet. I plan on purchasing another one of these in the future, as I reorganize some other equipment. Again, for the price, and the application, it's a fantastic value on a great product.

Well built, sturdy, durable drawer at a reasonable price.
The NavePoint 3U server drawer is very well built and fits like a glove in my rackmount effects unit for my guitar effects. It is a very sturdy drawer built from a heavy gauge steel and glides in and out smoothly easily and the locking mechanism is an good security feature which comes with 2 keys. The unit fits perfectly into a standard rack unit and has 3 pre-cut knockout holes on the back of the drawer about 1.5" or 2" in diameter should you need to run cabling into or out of the drawer. I personally do not have the need to use the knockout holes but they look like they could be removed easily with a hammer and punch. The drawer was very reasonably priced and I would buy another from NavePoint if I ever have the need. I own several products from NavePoint and they are all very high quality and precision engineered.
