In terms of usability it's far superior to the PSP but its audio player and certainly its video player are far less versatile. Another complaint i would have is that you can't just drag and drop files onto it and you have to disconnect the vita, close the media manager on your pc, reopen it and rebuild the archive when you want files you've recently added to any directory per category (photos, music, videos) to show up on the vita, which can take a while if you have a lot of files in any of the folders or their subdirectories as it scans all of them when you rebuild. Despite the clunky nature of getting media onto the vita its quite easy to use from there on and swapping between playing a game while listening to music to browsing the web is near instant and the screen is vivid and crazy sharp.

I've never owned a portable system before - not even a Gameboy. This is the first portable system I own. I find it to be AMAZING. Below are some thoughts. I also own an Nintendo 3DS XL so I will comment on some of the differences. Construction The Vita is sturdy, and the weight feels just right. That said, there are two plastic pads in the back which, I assume, indicate proper grip but I've never really used them. Your hands can get a bit tired from using it too much, but I blame it on Persona 4 (one of the BEST RPGs I've played, and I go way back to the NES days) and not on the design itself. Having two control sticks is just great, as opposed to the 3Ds/3Ds XL which only has one. Sound The speakers on the Vita are good enough to not wish you were carrying your headphones. It is loud enough so you don't need them. The 3DS however is not very loud. Also, the Vita has Bluetooth which to me is REALLY important, as I have several Bluetooth speakers. The 3Ds has no Bluetooth. Screen/Graphics It will blow you away. The screen is just beautiful and the touch screen is incredibly responsive. Even the text in the Web browser looks beautiful. The HD pictures in Persona 4 will make you think this is pretty much a portable PS3! The graphics, however, may not be up to PS3 level but really close. Persona 4 and Zero Escape look great. PSP games played on the Vita look good also: I expect they would look blurry but they look just fine to me. By the way, the Vita does not have 3D as the 3DS has, but the picture quality of the Vita is just in a class in and of itself. Memory This is the big disadvantage of the Vita. You need a big memory card if you want to use Playstation Plus a lot. This means the real price of the system will increase by around $40-$80, because the memory card is proprietary. The 4GB card will be sufficient for saves for, say, 4 physical games, but you'll run out of memory fast. I suggest just investing in the 32GB card right off the bat if you can and forget about memory - sometimes they are on discount. Game library and current selection A bunch of titles for PSX/PSP, and some capabilities for playing PS3 games. The PS4 will improve this even further. I'm highly satisfied. That said, I feel the 3DS lineup is at least equal if not better right now (e.g. Shin Megami Tensei IV, Fire Emblem, upcoming Zelda game...). I think the current Vita game selection could improve a bit but is solid enough. Persona 4 is great, as is Zero Escape and Mortal Kombat. I haven't tried Uncharted and Gravity Rush yet, which come in the bundle and are also supposedly real good. However, I do believe the legacy lineup of the Vita (PSX/PSP) is vastly superior to the legacy 3Ds lineup. Honestly, if you have a Vita with Persona 4 and Tactics Ogre (PSP) you probably won't need any other game for at least a few months! Battery I've never really gauged how long the battery life lasts, but I'm satisfied with it. That said, I'm almost always able to charge my Vita, so this is not something I can really comment on. It seems to me however that the 3DS XL battery last longer. Playstation Plus You'll get a free game around every two weeks or a month, and this truly adds up. For example, the PS Plus subscription is $50 a year. You get it for free. Just as I unwrapped the Vita I downloaded Zero Escape (almost $40) for free on the PS Plus. So it pretty much paid for itself. Also, I got Mortal Kombat at a big discount, and so forth. PS Plus is really a good investment. Final thoughts I think the Vita is a terrific portable system and an investment for the future once the PS4 is out there. Invest in a large memory card and PS Plus from the get-go and you'll build your game library in no time. If you prefer Nintendo games or can't wait for the Vita to have a stronger game lineup, you may want to get the 3Ds. Both are great systems (if so, get the 3DS XL - the regular 3DS's screen is a bit too small).

THIS! This is the handheld console I've always wanted. I own a PS3 so I really appreciate the Cross buy feature (Purchase on PS3 get a free digital PS Vita copy). It comes with Unit 13 free, and PS Plus. With PS Plus you can get Gravity Rush, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, and some racing game... FREE!

The vita is very nice. Has vivid colors, a nice bright screen, DUAL ANALOG STICKS, and feels good in your hand. I think this is much nicer than the 3ds, but the 3ds has a bigger library of games, so I'll leave it at that.

I've had a psp, gameboy, DS, 3DS and that one sega made I think. Anyway this is one cool system with touch screen and the instant classic edition is worth every penny. Free games until you cancel your subscription, games that actually use the front and back touch screens well. Being able to remotly play ps3 games on it, playing ps, ps2, psp, and others on it is a amazing plus! One down side, the memory card on it is WAY too expensive. Other than that its great.

If you still can, get a hold of a 1st gen like this. They look so much better. the OLED screen is very crisp, with the tradeoff of a couple hours less battery power when compared to the newer models. Quality over quantity in this case.

The combination of a Sony system and PS+ is a real value. The Vita can easily stand without a PS3/4, but having both is really convenient. The titles for the Vita are not as well known as Mario or Zelda, but the playability is just as good. It does seem like the titles are more plentiful for an older, more mature/refined audience, but there is still a variety for younger one.

By May 2013 there were so many Vita games that I had collected with no additional charge through my PSN subscription, and there were other games already on my radar, including Unit 13. It made sense for me to go ahead and get this package in preparation for a road trip we had been planning. I couldn't be happier with the device itself. I read some less glowing reviews earlier in its life cycle, but by now the system firmware has been updated to the point that there really isn't anything negative to say about the Vita except maybe it doesn't have many/any games that you are interested in. Unit 13, also included in the bundle, is not as good as I had hoped, but it's still a decent game and saved me the trouble of buying it separately. One downside is that it's a digital game code and not a physical copy, which brings me to the next item in the bundle: the memory card. Unfortunately Unit 13 alone will take up almost 1/3 of the space on a 4gb memory card. I've been strategically buying physical copies of games that I want that I know will be more than 500mb or so, which has let me put about 5 smaller, indie games on the card alongside Unit 13. The last item that comes with this bundle is a subscription to PSN Plus, which I highly recommend. For about $55 for the year previous I have managed to add around $500 worth of games to my collection FOR NO ADDITIONAL COST. As long as I keep my subscription, I will have access to the "instant game collection." I have also gotten discounts on other games as a PSN subscriber, and those games are mine even if I cancel the PSN subscription.

After SONY announced that the Ps4 will have built in hardware streaming of all games that don't need the PS-EYE cam I placed my order for the Vita. This bundle was really a no brainer since Ps4 will require a PS-Plus subscription for online play (Which I already have) The bundle comes with a 1-Year PSPlus card that can stack onto your current subscription so now I'm good into late 2014 and I have a 3G enabled Vita (I don't use the 3G but it's nice to have the option if I want to). I've been really impressed with the Vita so far the top level games like Assassins Creed, Uncharted ect... Look amazing and run great on the hardware so I have no doubt the Ps4 titles will look great and run well since they are only streaming from the Ps4 to the Vita not even running on the Vita it's self. This is a A+ bundle, If you can catch it on sale even better grab it fast!

A PS Vita is a excellent portable device, a lot of fun behind a small and portabe device !!!. Excellent resolution of images and graphics, you also can stay connected with Skype and Facebook. Other good App in the PS Vita is Netflix. Thousand of games. but the recomendation is buy a 64 or 32 GB Memory for storage of games and videos.
