Bought this for my daughter for Christmas. She loves it! The set up was easy. I was surprised by how many little tiny pieces there were. Like, the toast to go in to the toaster. While I'm not worried about choking with my 4 year old I did put up the smaller pieces to avoid the inevitable crying when she losses them.

For Any Age, They'll Love it!

I just want to say that Calico Critters go beyond any age limit. I took my 9 year old granddaughter to a store and let her pick what she wanted for her birthday within a certain price range. She first picked some other things but when she saw this the deciding was over. She has the cottage, nursery school, and carrying case and quite a few Critters and accessories. But I was surprised and pleased she still wanted them. She recently commented she'd like more pieces. She never had a dollhouse, but she loves these. This house has much more room for pieces and to actually move things and Critters around than the cottage. It also can be connected to the cottage to make a mansion. And the lights are a nice touch. All the Critters she has have held up well, so I don't hesitate to spend a bit more on them. So for anyone reading reviews and see that there are many commenters purchasing for toddlers, don't be put off buying this for an older child. Honestly, I think most of the Critters toys are too tiny for toddlers. But that's JMO.

Cute, cute, cute !

Cute, cute, cute ! We bought the Calico Critters house, car, kitty cat family, and little bunny friends for out grand-daughters to play with when they are visiting our house. They REALLY love them. I think the Calico Critters set are their FAVORITE toys. They love them sooo much, that when it is time to put away the toys, all the toys go in the toy box and closet EXCEPT the Calico Critters. These have a special place on the fireplace hearth. The Calico Critters are the very first toys our grand-daughter go to every time they come to visit.

My 3 year old daughter loves it

My three year old daughter loves it! My mom gave her money to spend for Christmas and this is what she picked out. She saw a commercial for it on TV. The house is so adorable and there are so many cute little details. Just a warning, if your child is still putting stuff in her mouth, there are a ton of small accessories so that may be dangerous. My daughter is over that phase so it was not a concern. Also, it only comes with two bunnies so I bought her a set of additional bunnies. Everything in this line is precious!

Spot on!

The house is beautiful. It is exactly what was picture and described. Putting it together for my daughter brought back memories of my childhood and playing with similar toys. Every little piece to this house is so detailed and spot on to real life, except they are critters. Its absolutely adorable and I recommend any parent to get if for their children.

Absolutely adorable!

I’m living vicariously through my daughter, as these are little replications of the Mapletown figurines I played with is a girl. This little house lights up, and folds up for easy storage. Everything is well-made, and even though I’m 38, I could sit and play with this for hours! So adorbs!

4 and 6 year olds have a lot of fun with this house

My 3, 4 and 6 year olds have a lot of fun with this house. Absolutely fantastic for pretend play. It comes with tiny really cute accessories, two bunnies and 2 lights you can turn on and off. I purchased a CC kitchen set,CC living room set and CC nursery set. The sets fit in the house really well. My kids have exspressed that their critters still need a bathroom though. Love Calico Critters they are always adorable and great quality toys.

Wonderl toy that is well made

We purchased this for my daughters second birthday. She loves it! She will play with this and the Critters for hours on end, which is fabulous for this mommy! It does come with several small pieces that we did not give her to play with for several reasons...1) even though I'm fairly certain she would not put them in her mouth, we didn't want to give her the temptation of the little food. 2) I didn't want her to lose them and be upset at the chance we couldn't find them. So we will save them for when she is older. Overall it is a great playhouse that doesn't scream gaudy, cheap, plastic toy.

Love it

This is really cute and well made. My girls got this for Christmas and they absolutely love it. They've played with every day. It was easy to assemble out of the box but my husband went the extra mile and super glued the pieces together. He said it was almost necessary since some of the connections were loose. At least this way we won't have to worry about pieces falling off easily during play. With that being said, I would definitely recommend having a tube of super glue handy while putting this house together. Overall I am very happy with this. The Calico Critters are adorable and my kids are very happy.

cute creatures for play!

We aw this at the store and looked online and found it on here for $30 cheaper! our daughter LOVES IT! the details and the lights and rooms are so much fun to use with play! I love that the people are animals! I think so many dolls are so un realistic these days so its cute to be able to play house with adorable fuzzy creatures!
