I was hoping this was big enough to suspend itself in my new rice cooker (an Aroma model I purchased at Costco) to replace the plastic steamer basket (don't like cooking in plastic). Sadly, it is just sliiiiightly too small, and slides down to the bottom. I was going to return it and try another brand, but as I was putting it back I read the packaging... Those handles latch lightly together in the pot (so you can lift the lid without having to cram the handles back in each time, like my old silicone steamer) AND you can roll it up for storage--one of the handles loops around the little peg legs at the bottom to keep it tidy. Never mind, I'm keeping this one! It has since taken over as my primary veg steamer. It holds a lot of veggies (I usually cook at least 4 cups), and the contoured sides keep them in even when you take the steamer out of the pot (LOVE this feature! All of my other steamers go flat when you remove them from the pot and set them on the counter, meaning a lot of chasing peas). It is quite a bit thicker than the other silicone steamers I've seen, so it doesn't do well in my Cuisinart 2 quart saucepan (height issue, the diameter is okay especially with the folds in the sides, but it's not floppy enough to deal with the 1/3" of extra height and just pops the lid up). I use it with a bigger soup/pasta pot and it's fine. If that pot is in use I can use it with an even bigger pot--because the sides don't flop down it just sits in the middle of the pot and keeps the veg in by itself.

I got this for use in my Instant Pot Duo Plus. It works beautifully. The handles are a little tall but you can fold them over and they sort of "hook" into each other to stop them from popping up. I use it mostly for steaming vegetables and fish. It washes up perfectly! Love it!

Whoever came up with this, thank you! I just threw out my old metal steamer and will never look back. I mainly use to steam veggies and fruits to make baby purées. So easy to clean. And fits different size pots. Easy to take in and out of the pot without scalding your hand. And the best part is, I can roll it into a small thing when storing. Capacity is good. I can steam broccoli crowns enough to feed 6 people.

This is an awesome steamer for my 6qt. Instant Pot. Easy to clean and store. Just roll it up and the handle hooks on the feet. I never really liked broccoli until I started using this steamer with my pot. It cooks it perfect, not mushy or under done. Manual 0 minutes and quick release. Broccoli cooks perfect, just in the time it takes to come up to pressure.

I’ve used this everyday since I bought this. I use to steam buns and dumplings and dim sum items, bowl of chawamushi, and veggies and fruit to purree into baby food. The handles don’t get hot enough to burn so I am able to lift the steamer right out of the pot immediately after turning of the heat and opening the lid. And its so much easier to clean and takes up less space then a metal or bamboo steamer when you just want to steam a small amount of items. I also love the fact it is in the pot rather then sitting on top of the pot. I think it steams faster as a result. Also- this fits in small pots and large pots bc of the way there are folds designed into the steamer. This is one of those items I wonder why I did not buy sooner!

Great product! I use this product in my pressure cooker as the material inside can easily be scratched removing the protective coat. It works every time as expected. I really like that it is easily cleaned and can be stored with minimal space taken up. Pros: - Won't melt in pressure cookers - Not easy to break like metal steamers - Easy to wash - Easy to store - Handles help during removal so that one isn't burned Cons: - None

I have the 6 quart Instant Pot. I figured I should go with the name brand (OXO) and go for silicone as a better bet than stainless steal. So far I have used it to cook corn, but I definitely am happy with it as previously I was just using the trivet it came with. the handles are a little higher but being silicone they just bend down in.

This steamer basket is amazing! I purchased this oxo silicone steamer for my 6 qt instant pot, and it's perfect! I originally had purchased a generic instant pot metal steamer basket but it was cheaply made, and even after cleaning, it left black residue all over my produce. I didn't think the sides were high enough on this OXO steamer but I was still able to fit a lot inside. Attaching a picture to show that it definitely fits in a 6 qt instant pot easily (just make sure you overlap and lock the handles as designed). Love this product, highly recommend.

If you steam veggies {spiralized or chopped] this is perfect for you! It fits most pots because of the well designed folds. The feet keep the strainer enough off the bottom of your pot for the right amount of water. The feet won't get too hot, so after steaming you can rest it on your counter. It's also not to hot to hold after steaming. It holds a good amount of veggies too! The BEST part... the way it rolls for storage! Simply start rolling it kinda tight and tuck one handle neatly over the feet. I'm SO glad I melted my old plastic one [forgot to add the water] and was forced to find a replacement. I can't see how I could possible melt this one.

The long handles save your fingers. This rolls into a small roll that locks into place (handle hooks onto the feet), so it's excellent for small spaces / small kitchens. Ideal for boiled eggs: Boil an inch of water with steamer in place. Set timer for 9-12 minutes (depending on if you want medium soft boiled or hard boiled eggs). Add eggs from the fridge. Once timer goes off, remove steamer full of eggs. Tap eggs with the back of a spoon and place in cold water. Egg shells will peel off VERY easily without any rubbery parts and no smell of sulfur.
