Perfect for a basic educational globe.
My 11 year old grandson wanted a globe for Christmas. I checked out local stores and only found a few expensive decorator ones. So I chose this model. He's a thoroughly modern kid, so it was delightful to hear him exclaim "Oh boy! A globe!!". We let him do the simple assembly himself. This is a basic, no frills model, but it is detailed, sturdy, and large enough to see clearly. There is nothing like a globe to get a good perspective. We were watching "Mutiny on the Bounty" the next night with him, and we were finding Tahiti, Tofua in Tonga, Kupang in Timor, and Pitcairne Island. It's a detailed globe if it has Pitcairne on it.

My Great-grandson Has Been Introduced To The World
My Great-grandson received his globe and Atlas book yesterday and I talked to him on the phone last night. His favorite of what he received was the globe. I sent him a US puzzle map last year and he enjoyed that, but he is really excited about his globe. He is 6 years old and I decided that I would quit sending toys and start ordering educational items instead. I am so pleased with what this company has to offer to help me fulfill my goals. Shipping is super fast.

Nice little lightweight cheap globe
Wanted to get a nice cheap globe to show my 5 year old where various parts of the world are! This one was perfect for us! Yes it is lightweight, but that's fine for us, as we are not hard on our stuff at all. We keep it on the desk in our office and it looks nice and stands up perfectly fine anywhere that we put it! It was super quick and easy to snap together. It's VERY STABLE and stands up fine for us! But again, we are not hard on things and our 5 year old daughter is not either. So this cheap lightweight glove works PERFECT for our needs.

My 8 year old nephew wanted a globe for Christmas
My 8 year old nephew wanted a globe for Christmas. Really? A globe for Christmas? Not a new game or toy? So this is what I bought him. I was satisfied with the purchase. Good points: The size is right to put on top of a dresser or chest without overpowering the room. It is lightweight and easy to handle. The globe shows nations, boundaries, latitude, longitude, and is relatively easy to read since it is not too big. TheThis globe is not the kind that is textured to show geographic features. The price was right for a little boy who may only have a passing fascination with globes. The family has consistently used it to look at countries in the news, to find locations we visited on vacation, to help with geography and history lessons, and where some of our family that either live or are visiting overseas are located. Points to consider: This is not the type of globe that shows geographic features - textured for mountain ranges, etc. The globe needs to be assembled. It comes as two hemispheres, and about 4 pieces to the stand. It snaps together very easily, but it will come apart. This is good for storage, but not good if you have children that like to take things apart or turn the globe into a ball. (as most 8 year old kids are tempted to do!)

My dad was happy!
My dad and his co-worker were discussing the world and couldn't remember where a particular country was. They both are a bit long in the tooth and are trade workers so using the computer is foreign to them. I told him I could easily buy this and have it shipped to him and boy was he excited!! I checked in with him later and he received it in good order, has taken it to work, and I believe they now spend their lunch break looking at the world!

Nice
I got this as a gift for my 8 year old who has been wanting a globe. He loves it. I read some complaints about the base being flimsy but we haven't experienced any issues. I would recommend this.

Nice globe
Got this for my grandson for Christmas. He is 7 years old and it is something I thought might help him in school or just to see the places we travel to. He thought this was really neat. I think he will use it even more as he gets older. It is a little smaller than I expected but the prices of globes were ridiculous. I did think this one would be larger though. It will do for now.

Just right
We bought this for my child with a budding interest in world geography. It was a wonderful surprise for him. The assembly instructions were pretty easy to follow. The price is great for us. I appreciate that the frame is decently sturdy. The globe seems durable enough to handle being utilized primarily by a child. It seems exactly like what you would find in a classroom. The size works and the country names are legible. It's been very useful already, and I am happy with my purchase.

Spin me round and round
This is made of plastic but it is a great globe for the price. There are really no complaints. Please be mindful of the size, everything else is as described and spins like a charm.

Must have for kids education.
Perfect size for my 3 year old grandson. We are teaching him Geography and he enjoys the fact it spins around. We also use flat maps to educate him.
