Nice Product

The horses are very durable and the stable itself is made of quality material. My granddaughter got this for Christmas and is having fun carrying the horses around (she is 2). They are big enough to not be dangerous for a toddler. There is information on what type each horse is (Appaloosa, Thoroughbred, etc.) but it is not a permanent part of the stable. It came as part of the wrapper, so it would have to be kept separately or taped/glued onto the back of the stable if you want to retain the info. It is useful and I wish they would have made it part of the stable instead of part of the outer wrapping. There are also stickers you can write on to give each horse a name if you want. It's cute. Both my 4 year old granddaughter and the 2 year old granddaughter will get lots of playtime from this stable and horse set.

Excellent toy for all ages

This is the third stable for horses from Doug and Melissa that I have bought. I have many children pass through my house and every age picks up this toy first. It is well built and can handle being dropped. The horses are fun to play with and pretend and it is a beloved toy. I have also bought one for my granddaughter in Texas and the latest for another child. I would recommend this toy for his longevity and for the fun and imagination that this toy induces in any age child.

Granddaughter loves this!

Our granddaughter is crazy for the horses. She loved this stable full of different horses and spent several hours making sure they were all in the right stalls, next to their "friends" and made a corral where they could exercise (she JUST turned 4). I read through the comments (before buying this) and realized that some were concerned about breaking the gates. I'm not sure I've ever seen a toy that a child COULDN'T break if they so desired, so yes, I'm sure you could break the gates. If this is your concern...find a bag of just horses. I just know that having the "stalls" for the horses was important to our granddaughter because she could "care" for them.

The Best!

This is a well made toy. Every once in a while you get a poor-quality Melissa and Doug item, but don't worry, this one is not it! The barn is sturdy, the hinges are hardy, the horses are solid, the latch is secure, and it comes with multiple stickers to put over the stalls for when the young owner inevitably changes the horses' names. We opted to cover the signs over the stalls with clear tape before writing in the names, but that was before we found the stickers in the packaging. Two minor drawbacks are that the two stalls on the end are a little harder to get the horses in and out of because of the doors (but not too tricky for even small children), and, yes, the horses' eyes are painted on a tiny bit creepy.

Great toy for floor play, and to carry along with the child.

These Melissa and Doug horses in a wooden horse stable are so wonderfully made. I have purchased 3 of them and each recipient was thrilled with the gift. Girls and boys alike, play with them all the time. The stable provides a nice way to store the horses and also to carry the toy with the children when they go places. Reasonably priced.

Great fun for a horse crazy boy or girl!

This barn is very sturdy and well constructed. and comes with a nice array of horses. One huge perk is that it is gender neutral— my son loves horses and is hard to find quality horse items that are not all pink and princessy. His favorite aspect (besides being able to transport his horses in style) was that it came with labels for each stall so that he could name each horse. This was a great gift and will be enjoyed for a long time!

Must-have for horse-loving toddlers

Pro: My toddler is over the moon. This set satisfies his obsessive love of horses, and his parents are pleased that the stable is a great place to keep them together when being stored. The plastic horses have suffered a bit of paint loss, but with all the abuse they've taken in the two weeks we've had them, we're happy they aren't breakable like some other toy horses we've purchased. Con: It is marginally difficult for my child to remove the horses from the end stalls due to the doors partially blocking access. Not a big deal for most kids, but he has some issues with motor skills.

8 year old loved it!

Horses are super cute my 8 year old loved it so much, she is a crazy horse girl! She especially loved the fact that she could write the horses names on a label and stick them on. The box is real sturdy only problem is the handle was glued down but my husband had to wiggle it quite a bit so it could come lose. Other then that it was super great quality! I will also be adding these to her birthday cake as well.

This has to be a favorite toy in our house

This has to be a favorite toy in our house. I bought this for my daughter when she was about a year old. She's always loved organizing things and any kind of animal. Horses are special to me and I thought we'd give this a try! It has held up for years and is still in rotation! We've managed to keep all the horses due to them not being too small or too many pieces. When the doors are opened the end stalls are a tiny bit harder to get the horses in and out of. Which ever bothered me. My daughter figured it out real quick and I saw it as an educational mishap. Some people may not be cool with that though, so be aware! I think I will actually buy another one for my nephew because it's still played with fairly often in our house!

Very pleased with high quality product

My almost four year old daughter had been begging for horses, but all the ones in nearby stores seemed cheap and flimsy or weird looking. I know that Melissa and Doug products tend to be quality, so I gave them a try for this item. Not disappointed! The horses look great and are perfect for her to play with. She loves putting them in and out of the barn (great way to store them too). Very pleased with the product.
