I have the Windows 8.1.whatever-it-is-today and this print reader is awesome. It is NOT a swipe-reader. You put your finger on it and you hold still for a split second. I believe I have not had a misread yet since I bought it several weeks ago. Print-readers (including the iPhone) tend to freak out if you have washed your hands in the past few minutes or if you hands are extremely dried out. Thing looks good on my desk and a very impressive addition to my setup. Only thing I'm disappointed is that it comes with a trial of Roboform (which is addictive). The prog fills in passwords and screennames based on your fingerprint. You can trick out your passwords to the craziest non-sense EVER and your fingerprint will fill it in. BUT the Roboform trial is just that... and expiring trial. :-/ What to do what to do. Bottom line: this thing is awesome. Rock solid metal construction with an accurate reader. Extremely accurate. Worth it over a swipe reader.

I've been using this product on my Windows10 desktop for several months now, and it works great. No issues whatsoever. Recognizes the fingerprint pretty quickly, though not quite as quickly as, say, and iPhone 8. Still, beats typing in PINs or passwords every time. And, it's great for other users of the computer too, as they don't have to remember their PINs or passwords either - just set them up with their own profile and their own fingerprints, and you're good to go.

Only thing was getting Microsoft "Hello" to recognize my fingerprint on initial setup. Once it did this thing is so easy to use and works on the first try. Greatest point, this is not a swipe but just place finger in cradle and print is read. Now how many of you feel M$ is sending your print and info of to FBI! I wonder sometimes.

Works exactly as intended. PLEASE NOTE: You don't SWIPE your finger with this ready, you just tap your finger on it. This along with the overall build quality accounts for the disparity in cost between this model and many others. This is made from a really solid metal which is a nice refreshing change from most other products today. Also, it reads super fast. I am using Windows 10 Hello. I didn't install any drivers or anything. Just open up Cortana and search for "Bio-Metric Devices" and walk through the fingerprint setup. Easy.

This thing worked right out of the box with Windows 10 Hello. After plugging it in, I was immediately able to configure Hello to use it as a fingerprint reader. Scanning in a couple of fingers took a few minutes. On my next reboot, I placed my finger on the reader when I reached the Windows login screen. Within about 5 seconds, Windows recognized me and logged me in. It has worked each and every time since without a hitch.

My Lenovo laptop has a fingerprint reader but I generally use the computer closed in a docking station. I wanted the convenience of fingerprint login so I purchased this reader. Windows 8.1 recognized the fingerprint reader automatically when I plugged it in. I didn't have to install the software that came with the reader. To add fingerprints open "PC Settings," choose "Accounts," then "Sign-in options." Click "Add" under "Fingerprint" to register your fingerprint(s). The P5100 logs in me in quickly every time, I have never had any issues with speed or recognition. I like that I need only press my finger to the reader -- it seems quicker and easier to do repeatably than the "scroll" motion required by the laptop's reader. I do find the reader's shape a bit funky, left alone it sits at an angle and likes to move around my desk. I took care of this quirk by using a Command adhesive strip to stick it to my monitor's stand. Definitely recommended if you want to log in to Windows 8.1 using an external fingerprint reader.

i had to learn not to "swipe" my fingers like other readers I've used. You need to "press" your finger into the device and higher not lower as the message will tell you. Also the cord must be down toward you, you can't turn the device upside down or it won't work. You have to press several times and keep waiting for it to say success. When you start your computer (I start mine from sleep) you wait for the screen and simply press your finger into the device (unlike the start screen which requires pressing enter then inputting your password). Computer came up immediately. I'm delighted. You should go to the support section of the zvetco.com site to see how fingers need to be placed on the device. Also note which way the wire is oriented.

I've had the reader for 2 days so far and I've really fallen in love with it. I can now log into Windows 10 without even having to wake up my monitors from sleep mode. You can just hold your finger on the sensor for a few seconds and Windows jumps right to your desktop. I didn't even need to install any drivers. Windows 10 recognized it immediately. I'm also a LastPass Premium user and have since set it up to authenticate with my fingerprint. I no longer have to type in a long password as it just prompts me for my finger print. I would definitely recommend this reader to anyone who uses Windows 10 or LastPass. I'll probably be buying a few more of these in the near future so all my machines have it.

Works with Win 8 Pro 64bit. Easy setup. just a few steps. Install software, install driver, reboot, setup biometric recognition in Control Panel (its in Hardware & Sound) and now when you log into windows you can do it with a fingerprint scan. With the included RoboForm (just the starter addition but you can upgrade for unlimited login cards) you can use your fingerprint to sign in the first time you login to RoboForm. Very neat. I did use Zvetco's tech support. They were very friendly and responsive. Though their hours were limited, my rep *Rob Rice" offered to stay late so I could be at my computer. I first got the P2000 and it did not work so I returned and got the P5100 because it is a bit larger and to scan a print you just need to press on the sensor and not swipe your finger like on the P2000. Thanks Zvetco for your help and creating a great product. I highly recommend it!!!

Expensive, but in this case you do get what you pay for. I had used an iDOO Lockey mini fingerprint reader for over a year but found it very frustrating to use, frequent misses and constantly having to be retrained. Probably the very small sensor was to blame, but for $25 what do you expect. The Zvetco Verify is a completely different story. All I had to do was plug it in and Windows 10 Pro instantly recognized it and provided the driver, no installation needed. Once I had it trained and set up in Windows Hello it has been smooth sailing, almost. There was a conflict with RoboForm's update, causing a BSOD, but that was fixed by RoboForm in a subsequent update (though they claimed it was the reader's driver causing the problem). Zvetco's email support was very prompt and friendly, but unfortunately could not provide a solution. Anyway, that's fixed and the reader has been a pleasure to use. So far (after 1 month), it has been 100% accurate. It takes a little longer that the iDOO to recognize my fingerprint (maybe 1 second in RoboForm, 2 signing into Windows), but it has a lot more data points to analyze. It's an extra wire on my desk, but the reader is very sturdy and attractive. Overall I'm very happy with it and highly recommend it. Money well spent. BTW, RoboForm is an excellent password manager which I have been using for many years.
