The guides make it easy to line up the paper, the base is wide enough that the whole works doesn't flip up into the air when you depress the handle, and it cuts clean holes without leaving behind a little hanging chad that rips open the paper's earlobe when you try to detach it. You wouldn't think there's much to saw about a hole punch but that's because you haven't used a terrible one.

Works great and looks good on desk. You cant ask for more from a reasonably priced product than to do it's job and to look good. The reduced effort is not a marketing scheme it is easier to punch through 10 sheets than the old model that this replaced. The Swingline Desktop Hole Punch, Precision Pro, 2 - 3 Holes, Adjustable Centers, 10 Sheets (74037) has adjustable punch settings and is great if you don't use it too much. Eventually the adjustable punches become loose and have to be constantly re-tightened. Also this model has more leverage making it take less force to do the same job.

Really like this hole punch!

This hole punch works exactly like a hole punch should work. It's inexpensive but well-constructed and sturdy. It also has a nice locking featuring so that it can store flat, limiting the space it takes up when not in use. Also has an easy to empty dispenser.

This is the "three wolves howling at the moon T-shirt" of hole punchers. Except instead of howling at the moon, these wolves punch a hole into a sheet of paper, and they line it up so that it will go into a binder with no trouble. And instead of wolves, we're talking about paper punches.

The best way to sum up this hole punch is simple: It's the Cadillac of hole punchers. Look, I'd never thought I would be sitting here ranting and raving over a hole puncher. It's a hole puncher, right? Wrong. It's Swingline so you know it's quality. It has a little ruler on it, so you can measure your paper or use it for straight edge. This hole puncher will punch holes and punch holes through paper like none-other. What about those little messy round piece of paper left over? Ha! No more with your baller-status Swingline Hole punch. I've went through reams and reams of paper and still haven't seen one single leftover circle escape the grasp of this high end hole puncher. Buying this hole puncher, at first, it was something I regretted. I had buyer's remorse and almost canceled my order initially. It's a little on the expensive side, obviously. But from the moment I opened up the package, and laid eyes on this beautiful peice of American craftsmanship, I knew I had made the right choice. Before long, I was the envy of the office. Even the guy going through his mid-life crisis and recently bought a high end BMW, -- he was jealous of this gangster no holds bar hole punch. This is a hole puncher for ballers and shot callers. If you want to go and buy one of those weak hole punches from Wally World for $3, go ahead you pleb, but if you want to become an overnight executive -- get this hole punch --- If you do, all of your dreams will come true.

It’s easy to use

Swingline is a staple of office supply product brands and this little 3-hole punch lives up to its brand. It’s easy to use, is low-force just as advertised, and is pre-set for an 8.5 x 11 size sheet so there is no guess work; it comes ready to use right out of the box. One feature that I especially like is the little locking mechanism that gives it a low profile making it easier to store. As far as the 12-sheet capacity claim, I have not yet tried it with that many sheets yet but yesterday I punched 10 sheets at one time and it went right through them with no problem. I have no doubt that it will punch 12 with just as much ease, possibly even a few more than that. I recommend this product to anyone looking to purchase a 3-hole light duty punch.

Useful and Efficient for My Small Home Office

I really like this 3 hole punch. I prefer using notebooks rather than manilla file folders (also cuts down on paper cuts - ouch!) to keep my administrative and operational paperwork organized which is why I bought this. For my purposes, a heavy duty one would've been too much but so far, so good on this one. I had confidence it would be quality because its a Swingline product and this 3-hole punch is indeed consistent with that. Also, aesthetically, it's nice looking. Great finish, good function. Thank you.

Real time saver

Before getting this I would have to measure and punch single holes in paper stacks. This handy item is durable and is easy to align and accurately punch a set of pages at once. When not in use it can be locked to save space and avoid accidental punching. I have no problems with this product whatsoever.

It works, but...

It's important to know that you need extra pressure depending on how many extra sheets you put in the hole puncher. I have another hole puncher by Swingline that can hold 20 sheets and not much effort is needed to punch holes. This one holds 12 sheets but you must push harder when that many sheets are in there but it works.

A DREAM compared to cheap/old stuff!

I am LOVING this so far! The handle is great, the size is perfect to store in a drawer. It punches through sheets like a dream, and even the locking mechanism is easy to use. The size isn't really adjustable like older ones I've used, but I only use standard paper anyway. I've mainly only used ancient 3-hole punches before, so this has been amazing for my home office.
