Just what we were looking for
We did A LOT of research on microscopes before we settled on these. We wanted something high quality for our teenagers but not crazy expensive in case our kids lose interest. They loved this scope! It was easy for them to use (just like they have at school), and everything worked like it was supposed to. For the price, we felt we got s very high quality instrument to last for many years. We also purchased extra pre-made slides by amscope so the kids had something to look at right away. They also had a lot of fun finding their own objects to look at under the scope. We are so glad we went with this model and didn’t go for the cheaper student models. This scope will most likely take them through college. We are very happy with our purchase.

Great microscope for the price! I am now able to do my own fecal samples on my goats
This microscope is awesome! We raise goats and bought this to do our own fecal samples! I was amazed at what I was able to see through this microscope! I was able to see worms very clearly and able to identify what type of wOrms we were Looking at. Thank you so much

Good scope for farm use
I bought this to check fecal samples for worm eggs in my animals, to assess wool fiber quality, and to identify bacteria and fungus in cultures. The scope is very solid, all metal, with an adjustable light, no play in the focus adjustment, and sharp optics. I'm amazed at the quality for the price. I chose this over the slightly cheaper My First Lab Duo-Scope, which features a second top light source to serve as a dissecting scope. Although that scope is also highly rated, this one includes a 25x eyepiece to allow higher magnification.

Great for Hobbyists!!
Purchased this back in October, and I was impressed by the resolution considering that I spent about $80. It rivals a $500 model easily. It's not as clear as the ones that I use at work in a medical lab, but those will run you $2,000 easily. It's great teaching tool. My seven yr old daughter loves it. She used it to examine rainwater from a standing puddle. I enclosed some images. Keep in mind that my photography is more at fault for some of the blurry images. The fact is that you can see quite clearly even at high magnification!

Awesome microscope!
Really REALLY great price! For what it does and the functionality it is defiantly the one you should buy. Got mine very well packaged and fast shipping. It comes with a 10x and 25x interchangeable eyepieces so that is how they get it up to 1000x. Oh and also it doesn't say this but it does indeed have a fine adjustment...it's the blue part in the picture. The zoom is great and was able to see my blood cells moving around on the slide. Also, it comes with batteries AND a cord so u can plug it in or take it around with you using it anywhere. Comes with a protective " bag" like thing for transportation. I would highly recommend this product to ANYONE, especially a high school student because this one is the same quality as the ones we use in school AND it's only 80 freekin dollars! Great great microscope.

Awesome microscope for the Price.
I bought this for my Aquarium Hobby and for my daughter. Mainly for myself. The 2 of us have a lot of fun looking at stuff. This really opened up my daughters mind. She said "now I want to see what everything looks like under a microscope." The photo I posted are of parasites/bugs I found in my Fish poop. I also did a Skin scrape of my fish to check for External parasites and that did not have as many fun things as the poop. The stool sample was just a Squish mount and I was very happy with the quality of this scope. I had a Cheap kid microscope back when I was 10 years old in the 80s. I loved that thing, but this one is SO much better. I am happy I made the upgrade. So worth the money. I worked in Vet offices for years and went to vet tech school. So I have used a microscope before. This scope can see most of what you need. I would like a moving stage. You need a moving stage if you want to do a good Fecal or blood scan. This stage does not move. You have to move the side by hand and that is a pain. It is easy to miss things when you do it by hand. So for just general use I love it. It feels really well made I would have liked binocular lens but that was too much money for the amount of time I was going to use it for. If anyone keeps fish and knows what Parasites or "bugs" I have here please let me know. The microscope can only help you if you know what it is you are looking at. I have much research to do.

I'm having way too much fun with this
I'm a budding biology student. I bought this microscope as a relatively cheap alternative to "play" with until I have sufficient funds for something more state-of-the-art. I also purchased a gram stain and bacterial growth kit and I am having waaaaay too much fun.

Great Microscope!
This is my first experience with a microscope, so I don't have much experience with them, but it is working great for my college biology class. As other customers stated, there are some small materials on the lenses, but they are not affecting my experiments. I attached some pics I took today for a lab. I am still working on taking good pictures, but that is not the microscopes fault. All photos are taken with the 10x eyepiece. Picture 1 is a fruit fly taken with the 40x objective lens Picture 2 is a fruit fly taken with the 4x objective lens Picture 3 is cheek cells stained with an IKI indicator with the 40x objective lens Picture 4 is an onion root tip with the 10x objective lens

great starter
I've given these to various grandchildren aged 7-12. They all love them. I give prepared slides, Greg's Microscope, The World in a Drop of Water, and AmScope The World of the Microscope A Practical Introduction with Projects and Activities along with it. Most recently I sent one especially interested granddaughter Rs' Science Microscope Slide Accessory Kit to further peak her interest. It helps to have something to do with the microscope rather than just giving them an object with no guidance. Unlike a video game, it takes some input to get going. I had a microscope with a little mirror 45 years ago. With no ideas besides looking at salt and hair and a few other things, I quickly lost interest.

Great Value Buy You will be very pleased after buying ...
Great Value Buy You will be very pleased after buying this microscope, as it is an extremely good option, especially for the price. The ideal user would be an infrequent user that doesn't not require an extremely high quality internal look inside cells. I personally use this microscope for analyzing semen samples collected from swine. I am fully able to accurately assess motility and morphology of the cells. How It Can Help You This microscope will allow you to accurately view cells on a molecular level. If you are looking for a basic entry level microscope I am quite certain that this device will more than exceed your level of expectations. The criteria I used to evaluate this product are pretty basic; ease of use, quality of focus, and light permeability. You will find that this product is extremely to use. The basic setup of the focus knobs are easy to distinguish between the corse adjustment, larger knob, and fine adjustment, small knob, easily allowing you to finely adjust your viewpoint on your desired specimen. I also appreciate the quality of focus this device can provide its users, which after purchase I'm sure you will too. Lastly the adjustable bulb shade allows you to effectively shade the amount of light that penetrates the slide. This will allow you to easily push light through darker specimens or lower for clear cells. Closing The Deal Overall, I would highly recommend this product to nearly any entry level user it can come with a few draw backs for a more advanced user such as, inability to see inside cells clearly and lack of a binocular objective, which could be expected as it is clearly marketed as a monocular objective however I do think it could improve the ease and clarity of use. However, this scope has fully met and exceeded all of my expectations for this device and I am extremely happy with this product and would buy it again.
