Yes, you can dye in your washing machine without ruining it! I know, I know, I didn't really believe it either. I didn't believe it so much that I only attempted dying in my washing machine because I had an old washing machine I was about to get rid of. But sure enough, if you follow the instructions (and I followed the instructions CLOSELY, let me tell you) then you can continue using your washer even after you put fabric dye in it without everything turning intensely fuschia. My denim color was nice and appropriately denim-y and while I was concerned that I would need to buy extra boxes to cover my dye job, I really didn't need more than the recommended amount. Totally a great deal that I would buy again or recommend to friends and family!

Just used it today. Brilliant hue. My denim is truly dark washed now.

I have purchased Rit dye many times and I am always pleased with the outcome. I use it in the washer to darken my jeans and other clothing when they get washed out

Worked really well so far. Gave my jeans a much darker look. Didn’t think I was going to have enough at first but I only used half of the packet in the box. Mixed a little bit of salt(because that’s all I had) as recommended in some YouTube videos with half a pack of dye in a bowl big enough to fit my jeans and soaked in hot water for 30 minutes. Rinsed it out with cold water and let them air dry. Some of my jean faded were still showing which is what I wanted.

Used it to refresh my demin covered couch. Worked like a champ.

Love the powdered dye when dying in washing machine! I dyed over a lilac color, so I'm not certain how true the blue is but it did a good job of covering up the purple.

Going to dye cotten lace

Worked beautifully and looked great!
