Better than more expensive brands!!
After a very successful introduction of this product concept to our household over Christmas (wasn't the same brand, but my 3 kids didn't put them down for three weeks straight), I promised my now-9-year-old daughter that she could have another set for her birthday in February- because she and her 2 sisters (7 and 3) were not able to build their crazy creations as tall as they wanted to. I also feel that this product is a seriously wonderful first lesson in geometry, and wholeheartedly support their desire for a toy that will boost learning and encourage them to work together as a team. So, when I started shopping for another set, I explored getting the same brand of tiles as I had previously purchased. However, Picasso Tiles came up in my search results as well. They were significantly less money than the alternate brand, and the tiles appeared to be identical in the product photos. After some research and finding that user reviews for Picasso Tiles were just as good - if not better - than their pricier counterparts, and that compatibility with tiles from other makers seemed to be a non-issue across the board, I went for it. And I'm not disappointed. Let's start with the box. These, unlike the last (more expensive) brand I bought, arrived in a box that you could actually easily re-use for storage of the set, if you wanted to. The box has a flip-open lid, a plastic carry handle, and an internal organizational tray to hug the pieces and keep them from sliding around, and seemed sturdy enough to support these for many years. Needless to say, the box and the outer box were well sealed and packed and everything arrived in pristine condition. Next, the tiles themselves: the only variation I have noticed between Picasso Tiles and the brand I previously purchased (besides slight differences in color) is that there are a few LARGE square tiles (which the kids are fascinated with) and the taller triangles are very slightly longer/pointier in shape. They are nevertheless completely compatible with the other set, and I see no difference in quality, manufacturing, or workmanship. If anything, the magnets in Picasso Tiles actually seem stronger! Very happy, and if we buy more of these I will be going for this brand first!

LOVE THESE TILES - FANTSTIC FOR ENCOURAGING CREATIVITY! !
I love these tiles, but more importantly my five year old granddaughter loves them. I bought her a couple of boxes for Christmas, so she would have enough to build some fantastic structures. On her very first attempt, she made something very creative and imaginative and beautiful, I think. These tiles are fantastic - I am so happy that I bought them. They are significantly less expensive than the more well known brand, but I see no difference at all. This is a great purchase for any child who enjoys spending time using his or her imagination building things.

Just as good as Magna-Tiles for half the cost
Local children's museum has the authentic Magna-Tiles and my kids loved them so decided to buy these for Christmas. Bought because the reviews were so high citing the quantity and quality vs cost of competition. These are 100% just like Magna-Tiles but for less than half the cost. Bought 100 for $55, Magna Tiles for 100 are $110 as of writing. These are basically same size and quality. Regardless of ANY price, my son has built some truly awesome buildings and towers with these in just the first few days on using at home. He gets so much more out of these use them at home rather than using them at a busy children's museum. I couldn't be happier with this purchase for spurring creativity.

Excellent product, indistinguishable from the more expensive brand
We own both MagnaTiles brand and PicassoTiles. The MagnaTiles and PicassoTiles are identical in size and shape, and they are nearly identical in color (the PicassoTiles set does not include any purple tiles). The PicassoTiles magnets are just as strong as those on the MagnaTiles. We use both sets together completely seamlessly. The only notable difference between the two brands of tiles (other than price) is that MagnaTiles have round metal rivets in the corners that hold the tiles together. I wonder if these rivets will ultimately make the MagnaTiles more durable than the PicassoTiles. I have not owned the tiles long enough to comment on this. But after a six months of daily use by my two young children, the PicassoTiles are holding up without any problem. No complaints. UPDATE: As of April 2018, after 4 years of frequent use, the MagnaTiles and Picasso Tiles show no difference in wear and tear. I think the reinforced metal rivets on the MagnaTiles could be necessary if the tiles are being used at a school, daycare, or children's museum. But based on regular home use, there is no difference in durability between the Picasso Tiles and MagnaTiles. Both brands have held up fine: tiles have been thrown, tall towers have collapsed onto hard floors, tiles have been tossed carelessly into the storage bin during cleanup. No problems.

Can't tell the difference? Neither can I
Magna-blocks and Picasso tiles are completely interchangeable, almost identical. picture is both kinds, mixed together. But Picasso tiles are often less pricey.

Love these magnetic tiles
I am really impressed by these magnetic tiles. We already had a set of solid-colored Magnatiles, and I was worried that a different brand wouldn't fit with our existing set, but they are great! This kit had the exact same shapes and sizes, and they actually seem sturdier and fit together better than the much more expensive brand. I really can't recommend these magnetic tiles enough for open-ended creative play. They are so simple but provide so much entertainment. My almost 3-year-old seriously plays with them every single day (how many toddler toys can you say that for?). At first he just made flat designs on the floor with them, but now he is building structures that get more elaborate each day. I love watching him use his imagination as he makes "spaceships" or "train stations". Sometimes he just likes making a bunch of boxes so he can smash them. These are definitely one of his favorite toys. Also, i had friends that say that even their 11-year-olds still play with them, so I'm hoping for some longevity on these :) Can't recommend them enough! Disclaimer: I received this set at a discounted rate in exchange for an honest review.

Works with other brands. My 3-4 yr old daughter loves them, and so do I.
I'm sure plenty has already been said about these. They work just fine with Magna-Tiles. They don't have the little metal rivets, but they seem just as strong, and the same size. My kids have them all mixed up together, and everything works fine. I had a price alert on these for like two years before I finally bought them, but at least they're cheaper than the other ones, and it gave my daughter time to grow into more interest in building with them. At 2-3, she never really used her Magna-Tiles after the novelty wore off. But now, at almost 4, she really loves building with them and plays with them and these Picasso tiles almost every day. Then she puts them neatly back into their carrying case and everybody's happy.

Exceptional! Better than other brands!!
These tiles are wonderful!! Kids of all ages love them - and adults love them too! We bought and tried several building tiles, including Picasso Tiles and Magformers. Shown in the pictures are orange Picasso Tiles and blue Magformers tiles. The Picasso Tiles are superior (in size, shapes, and play value)! I highly recommend these tiles! Please mark if you find my review helpful. Thank you so much!

highly recommended!
I highly recommend this set. Every piece was well made. Together it provides a nice combination of boards of different sizes and shapes for kids to build things out of their imagination. Our preschooler started to play with magnets recently. We used to have about 50 pieces which apparently were not enough to build buildings. In particular, he likes the squares. This set has a lot of those. The pieces are also sturdy. My son steps on them sometimes and has not broken any pieces. I am ordering more magnets for him to that he can try out anything he likes, hotels, hospitals, school, etc. UPDATE: I have purchased four sets for our son. He plays with them everyday and builds so many amazing objects.
