Roland has a tendency to have high price points on sophisticated engineering due to R&D that leads to high cost. but this item is a win-win-win for Roland, vendor and the musician.

A nice, relatively inexpensive way to expand your kit.
These are great. I have 3 of them on my TD-50KV. The documentation is a bit lacking in terms of explaining how to remove the spacer for mounting to a bar instead of a pad (protip: pull the hard plastic part down and toward you), but other than that, it's a relatively inexpensive way to add a shaker, cowbell, tambourine, etc. to your kit. They have a fairly nice bounce too, so they're much more pleasant to hit than a rim.

Very flexible.
The set up and mounting is very flexible. It works great. I am using it for several latin sounds.

Very useful supplemental piece to our Roland kit
Very useful supplemental piece to our Roland kit. Not the most dynamic trigger (you probably should get a small pad if you want very controllable dynamics) but for what it is (something to hit) and its size (unlike a pad it can be mounted pretty much anywhere on your kit) it's a great little device. Works great as a control trigger too.

Nice drum trigger
I've been using this product all summer with my electronic drums. It's comfortable to play and triggers easily. Only complain is you have to be careful when mounting as you can get sympathetic triggering if not mounted correctly.

Fantastic add-on trigger for the TD-30kv and other electronic drum systems
I have a Roland TD-30VK -- Roland TD-30KV-S V-Pro Series Electric Drum Kit - New -- and I utilize these within its "auxiliary" inputs, which can quickly be configured to play any sound the TD-30 "brain" unit has. You can also setup two different "head" and "rim" areas and essentially get two triggers with one device. I am currently using three of them and am so happy with them that I have just ordered another one. Fantastic add-on product for Roland electronic drum modules. Also, for "hybrid" electric/acoustic players (I am not) these can be used as triggers for essentially any sort of setup.
