Dad review. We have leather seats and as I removed our first, now-too-small carseat; I was horrified at the (probably) permanent indentations the old carseat base left in the leather. Immediately purchased this item with our larger carseat, (diono rxt. Very, very heavy.) and was relieved how protected the seat felt with this covering before I installed the rxt. Time will tell if it works, but it's weighty, sleek, and has a mesh multi-pouch that hangs over the seat edge for... travel wipes? A diaper? An 8-page baby book? I dunno. They're thin; slots almost. They don't give much, but I didn't buy a seat protector for accessory storage so it's a cool surprise. Will definitely buy again for carseat #2 in a few months.

I bought a Diono carseat for my youngest and bought this to protect my seat from indenting so much in my new car. I read reviews about not being able to get the seat tight enough on this, but.. I was able to get my car seat tight enough to where it doesn't move at all. So its really how you install your car seat. This product works!

Two Years Later -- Highly Recommend

Purchased three of these 2 1/4 years ago. Came back to purchase a fourth for Grandma's car and the spare car seat. Has withstood scorching Texas heat and has held up extremely well. Using them in two different cars -- one with cloth seats, the other with leather. No damage or breakdown / melting / etc. in either car. Highly recommend.

Good car seat protector. And specifically made to work with rear facing Dionos!

We had a britax car seat cover which because of the way the diono car seat is made will not work. So the diono mat it is. I like this better than the britax. The non slip backing is better, the upper material seems better. I like that it has smaller storage pockets. The big plus over the britax, the britax is almost hard. It is a thicker material and while you might think that it will protect the car better, if you have anyone sit in the back seat with your baby/child getting to that other seatbelt latch may be a pain. As you have to try and lify up the corner of the stiff protector. This protector is more pliable, so you can easily lift up on the material to get to the seat belt latch.

Keeps Your Seats Clean and Protected!

The Diono Seat Protectors are a great buy! My daughter suggested I get them for my new cream color car interior. She has them in her car, and said that they are great way to protect the back seats of the car from getting marred by child-car-seats and to keep the leather upholstery clean. I agree. They are easy to "install" and remove. There is a small strap that goes around the back of the backseat headrest to help keep them in place, plus a small "tab" that slides behind the car seat to keep the seat cushion stationary. The Protectors are cushioned a bit ( not bulky), to prevent the child car seats from leaving an imprint in the leather. They are a mesh-like fabric, so if food or drink were to spill, it seems that they would be easy to clean ( has not happened to us yet.....). We live in a climate where we get winter snow. But as the kids get in and out of the car with their dirty boots, they can step on these protectors rather than the leather seats when they get themselves into their car seats. What is not to like? Who doesn't want to protect the back seat of the car from getting marred and soiled. These Protectors are definitely a good buy!

Finally, Diono is coming out with their own seat covers. I’ve been using the brica seat protector that looked more like a bucket to catch any spills. But after 3yrs of use it was pretty filthy and I had to the bottom to fit the Diono hook base for the rear facing anchor. I replaced it with the Diono seat cover for both my bmw and Mercedes and it looks better than in black than the brown brica seat protector cover. Only time will tell if this Diono cover will hold on. But so far so good.

Excellent product, as I would expect from Diono. Main reason I got this, was so the leather seats don’t get messed up from the seats, and also so food and drinks from the little ones don’t get into the seats. Doesn’t cost much for what it is, and works well. My second one, for my second child, and the one I bout two years ago is still holding up like new.

Super helpful in protecting our car's upholstery

This has been super helpful in protecting our car's upholstery from the mess our child is somehow constantly making. It's well made and pretty rugged. It fits well in our Toyota Yaris, although I think it would fit just about any car if it can fit it our tiny one. I love that it has the little pockets in the front for storage. I do with that the storage section was detachable via Velcro or something though so that I could move it to the side rather than under our child's feet now that she is front facing. Overall I'd highly recommend this to anyone with a child in a car seat and especially as a shower gift since I don't think I realized how messy cars could get until it was already too late.

My 3.5 yr old loves it!

I spent hours and days, searching to find the best ones out there. Life is too short and I rarely spend time writing reviews, so I've done your study for you. Like many other similar products I found that followings the the keys. Make sure 1. it doesn't bleed color to the seat. 2. the anti skid pad on the bottom doesn't melt onto the seat 3. measure the seat (this one is the perfect height for our Nissan Quest 2014) 4. Great quality and nice paddings. 5. Stays in place 6. Extra pocket storage is a plus And this one meets them all! I even got so many compliments! The only complaint would be I wish they would make in other colors like tan and grey and etc. but it's really not that big of deal since they match the car seat.(evenflo MAESTRO=great booster seat wt harness, just got this one too 2/25/14).

Great seat covers for heavy car seats

I’ve bought four of these now. Two have had big infant seats under them and two have had HUGE booster seats. We have leather seats and after using a car seat with no cover underneath and ruining a leather seat I said never again! After getting another car with leather seats we bought this seat cover and I couldn’t be happier with it. I’ve had to move the carseats and the leather seat underneath is in perfect condition, even after having the seat cinched down as tight as possible. These covers are pretty thin but do a great job protecting from pinches, lines, and also spills. I will never buy a different kind. For the money, I feel like these are a great choice!
