Great solid stainless hardware
We purchased this to create a barn door in our bedroom after we did a remodel. We replaced all of the doors in the house with custom ordered doors, and ordered just a slab door to use with this, with no jams/etc. This hardware is really nice solid stainless hardware and looks great and is very solid. We had to cut the bar down to fit the space, and the nice stainless caps on the end don't come out, which is one of only two complaints. In ours one end is very close to the wall, which is why it had to be cut, so it's not a big issue, but if you were mounting in the middle of the room and need to shorten the bar, you'll need to recap the end somehow on your own. The other complaint is that the install kit came with two wrenches to install, and neither one fit their bolts correctly. The main issue in other reviews about this product seem to be the directions, and that the guide to be installed at the bottom of the door is too narrow for the width of the door. The guide is not too narrow, it's meant to be mounted parallel to the door and fit in a groove that you've cut into the bottom of the door, not installed so the door passes between the two pegs. Putting the groove in is probably the hardest part of the install if you don't have the right tools or experience to cut a straight groove into the bottom of your door slab. In that case, see some of the other reviews for how others solved this issue by replacing this part. You can use a 1/4" router or dado bit to cut the groove. Had we thought about it advance, we'd have had the lumber shop we got the doors from cut it for us. The instructions are pictures-only with metric measurements. They are difficult or easy to follow depending on your skill level with home renovations. It comes with a round door handle for each side, that you may need to recess into the door on the inside side to pass over any trim around the opening. Something to keep in mind with your remodel before you order your door slab for your barn door, the door needs to be wider then the opening. :-) Originally we were going to put a regular door and jamb in the space and ordered the slab size based on that, so our door was too narrow to fit as a barn door. We'll fix ours when we trim the opening. Very happy with this product for the price. We spent no more than putting in a regular door set to build and install our barn door!

I can't recommend this enough!!
I don't even know where to start with how happy I was with this purchase! I got two of these to install barn doors in my basement, which had two doorways that were different sizes, neither of which are standard. Rather than mess with re-doing a doorway, I decided to just custom build myself a couple of doors. I did a LOT of shopping around for the right style of sliding door hardware and fell in love with this style. The stainless steel color and minimal style is really modern and looks great with the rest of my decor. And seriously, this price cannot be beat! I found some hardware sets at places like Home Depot that cost upwards of $300-$400 dollars and I definitely did not want to pay that much. Not only does it look great, but the quality once I received the hardware blew me away. It is all very sturdy, clearly well-made. This isn't some cheap curtain rod type of set, it is very hefty and built to hold a large door. Like some other commenters mentioned, the instructions do leave something to be desired, but anyone with some basic skills and a Metric tape measure can easily figure it out. Overall, I just can't recommend this set enough to anyone looking for a sleek, modern way to put a barn door in your home!

Nice Hardware set, worked good
We really love this hardware set, we didn't use a few pieces but the ones we did use it was still worth the money to purchase this set. We used ours in our laundry room. We had to cut it down because the pole was too long, we used a hacksaw and we were able to cut down quickly. Over all it took few hours to install but we wanted to make sure it was done correctly. We used the existing door to hang. The only cons to using the existing door is that there is no over-hang so you can see the molding around the door still from the inside. Also the handle did not fit our standard door hole. We ended up buying a door handle plate from Lowes.

Great Looking Barn Door Hardware!
This is a quality product for only $100 including shipping! Well packaged that works like a dream. The instructions don't say how to mount the bottom door keeper. I cut a dado 1/4" wide x 1/2" deep in the bottom of my door to make sure the door wouldn't swing out away from opening. You could also mount it on the floor behind the back of the door so the door slides along it it to keep it from hitting trim. I also used long screws to attach the top two rollers vs the nut they give you to screw into the door to receive the mounting screws. Pre drill the holes for the screws if you're going into a hardwood. Easier and I think stronger than what they provide. Very smooth/quiet rolling door.

Lots of Bang for the Buck!
Great Quality. I don't know how they produce such a great product at this price point. The rollers are silky smooth, everything is finished extremely well. My advice if your hanging it yourself is to plan ahead making sure the door can slide as far as needed and the bar is mounted perfectly straight and level. I used my 4' level to ensure both. We bought a new door from Home Depot for less than $100 so all in for less than $200 we have a updated look in the kitchen and without the old hinge mounted door in the way the kitchen looks larger. Beware: The instructions are useless. Couldn't be happier.

Very solid and well made. Easy to assemble despite no text in instructions ( pictures only). Looks very modern and opens and closes smoothly. Saved me $$$ over other options

I agree with most that this was not difficult to ...
I agree with most that this was not difficult to install. Yes, the directions are minimal and in metric measurements, but look at the photos online of the installed product -- you'll get it! Oddly, NONE of my tape measures have metric on them, so I just looked up the conversions on Google and used the closest standard drill bits and measurements. My project involved hanging a hollow-core (not very heavy or wide so I used only 3 of the 5 supplied rod supports) bathroom door with "normal", builder grade 2" trim around the frame. This hardware can be installed if you have trimwork around your door opening, but you'll need more than just 2 inch wide trim above the door. In order to have enough space to mount the hardware above the door, I removed the door trim above the door and substituted a 6 foot piece of 4" wide trim. I cut the new trim piece at a 45 degree angle to abut the current trim on one side of the door opening. I cut the miter off the side trim on the other side of the door opening. (See attached photos. I'll cut the extra trim to end at the miter and I have yet to caulk and paint the new trim piece. I'll also cut down the rod.) I mounted the new trim to the studs in the wall (most doors have a header so there's plenty of wood to screw to above the door. If you don't have a stud finder, use a very small drill bit to drill into the drywall until you find the next stud. All the little holes will be covered by the new trim/mounting piece anyway.) After having this installed for a week, I have determined that 1. I do need some sort of roller (the one that is supplied won't work for my project) to keep the bottom of the door from rubbing against the trim and 2. the door that was in this opening is really too narrow to be the sliding door for this opening. When it's pulled close, the door, of course, fits the opening perfectly so you have to push/pull it out to get it to slide past the door frame to open; and it's not exactly private. I'll either find a wider door (that doesn't have hinge or knob cutouts) or add trim pieces to this door to widen it. As for the roller, I'm going to install a small fixed caster (Uxcell Plastic Wheel Fixed Swivel Caster Set, 1-Inch, White, 4-Piece) to the trim board along the carpet. Yeah, the sliding door now covers the bathroom light switch, but it's still reachable.

Great product.
Very well made. Has a "German" feel to it. I cut the rod down because my opening was only 2 feet and it was no problem. Ok, my arm was tired because it was a thick pipe. ;) The install was easy. The directions weren't the best though. I would recommend buying some high quality wood screws (3") and using those to attach the door to the rollers. Way easier.

Excellent quality hardware, easy to install
Bought three of these, one to use by itself and two to combine into a single long track for two hanging doors. These things are fantastic. Easy to put together, easy to install, relatively easy to figure out where all the parts go. We cut one of the tracks using a hacksaw with a regular blade - took a few minutes but wasn't particularly difficult. We didn't use any of the screws/anchors for attaching rollers to the doors, just got some 1.5 inch wood screws (our doors were thinner and lighter than standard doors). We also couldn't use the door "handles" for the double doors due to thinness and placement relative to the door opening, but that's not a strike against this hardware. Even compared to much more expensive doors these seem like a great option, at their price point, it's a no-brainer.
