so far i love it the saw is really doing better than the reviews had me thinking it would, and she is lil easier on fuel than i assumed, they complain about weight but all pole saws are a lil on the heavy side because you arms are at full lenght hextended,i found nothing out of my expectations, shes not a power house but if ya keep the chain sharp she gets the job done with very lil effort

Works Great right out of the box. Not quite as powerful, nor is the blade quite as long (8" vs 10"), as my old Poulan Pro 31cc. But, with that said, it is much lighter and easier to handle and reaches a lot (2ft) farther than my big ol' clunky Poulan (which went Ka-Poot after about 10 hours of run time and needs a new carburetor.) Even better still, the Maverick cost me less than half of what I paid for the Poulan Pro-found disappointment. I've run the Maverick for about two hours so far, and cut through numerous white oak and live oak branches; seven of which were 6+ inches in diameter. The Maverick performed flawlessly, handled like a wand, and never bogged down. As of now, I think it was a great purchase and, if I had to do it over, I'd buy it again.

Extremely easy to put together! Had it out of the box, assembled, filled oil and gas tanks and was cutting limbs within 20 mins! Cut through some pretty sizeable limbs (approximately 10" in diameter) with not problems at all. It was so easy and fun that I was trimming every tree in sight! Definitely would recommend!!

Waited a little bit to do a review. Great tool to have if you have a lot of tree branches or small trees to remove. I'm a tall guy so I haven't used the extension yet. Thickest tree I cut with this was 6in around. Small branches are a breeze to cut. Actually had fun with it, and if the wife didn't stop me, the 40ft pine tree was next! I would recommend this to anyone that wants a professional look, without the hassle of paying someone else to do it.

So, I bought this after reading the mostly positive reviews. We have a 5 acre lot with about 500, Ponderosa Pines on it. We are starting the process of building a house on it and the trees have never been cleaned of dead branches. I rented a larger Echo pole saw from the local Home Depot one weekend day and it worked very well but was $75 for the 24-hour rental. I purchased this figuring if I could get 2, solid work days out of it, it would pay for itself. If it happened to still run after those 2 days then I would consider myself ahead in the long run. Well, I was simply amazed at how well it cut and worked. The trick is just to let the saw pull itself through the cuts at it's own pace. There are several advantages of this saw over the larger Echo rental from Home Depot. The Echo had a longer reach but was probably twice as heavy. Lifting it over your head and reaching up into the trees exhausted me quickly and required me to take a break every 20 minutes or so. With the Remington, I could keep working. In the long run, I think I cut more with the Remington...kinda the tortoise and hare thing. On the negative side, the saw will give you the "bees" after long term use. It does not have a balance shaft to offset vibration from it's single cylinder engine as the 5X Echo did. Also, the bar was shipped basically finger tightened. I was lucky to notice this since the instructions say to adjust chain tension after using for 15 minutes. This could have thrown the chain...no bueno. It's pretty loud too. These negatives are very minor. I strongly recommend this saw and have only written a product review one other time on Amazon. Buy it! You won't regret it.

Great if used as designed.. It's not a very large saw, so you need to go easy with it and get it up to speed prior to contact with the branch, but it cuts better than I expected it to. I use a couple of large husky saws on a fairly regular basis, so I know how to run a saw - that might have helped me. I thought the small engine on this would bog a lot more than it does. I've used it quite a bit and have had no issues with starting or operating the saw. I now have several very large brush piles waiting for the first snow and seem to keep finding more areas to clean up around my property and this makes it very easy. I highly recommend this saw to any property owners that have trees to maintain.

This rating and review is based on initial use. So take it for what it's worth. This thing is simple to put together out of the box. Just a couple of pieces that snap together and your done. There's quite a few steps to take when starting the engine but it's not that bad. It starts very easily with a simple pull on the cord. You don't have to yank on it several times or anything. I bought this for residential use and it did what I needed without any problems. The biggest limb I cut was probably three inches. While the limbs were on the ground I had to cut them smaller to transport to my burn pile. There was a lot of starting and stopping of the pole saw during this process. I didn't have to do the whole starting process over since the engine was already warm. It started with one pull every single time. Based on first time use I would recommend this product for residential use.

If you're looking for a decent pole saw for around the house then this is for you. I haven't bought a Remington product in a while so I'm really satisfied with my purchase. Pops and I pruned all the trees around the house in prep for winter. The thing has some good power. It is a bit heavy when you're high up but that's so that you can just touch the blade on the branch and don't have to push for it to cut. You might want to change the blade but I found the stock blade was sufficient enough. Cut through a branch about 10 inches in diameter. As long as you know how to cut properly you can use the saw to it's fullest capability. Really really satisfied. Update: It's been 16 months since I've had this pole saw and let me tell you if you're reading this just add it to your cart then click the proceed to checkout button without a second thought. Man this thing is impressive. Just finished cutting up a few trees at a friend's house and this thing was just chewing through the branches. Mind you, I'm still on the chain I got with it when I first purchased it. I've never had to shorten the shaft since I've had it until this time when I used it and it was so convenient with the quick disconnect system. I'd recommend this to everyone asking for a reliable pole saw. As long as you clean it after using it and make sure you keep an eye on the chain oil you should have a good solid working machine. After all the cutting we did Wednesday, I'll be looking into getting a new chain just to have as a back up. Also, you should note: when the carburetor starts bogging you just have to adjust the high idle screw on the top located next to the choke switch. I didn't have the tool to do it so I used a grinder and cut off the casting around both the high and low idler adjusters. Now I can use any needle-nose pliers and quickly adjust the high when it starts to bog so I can get right back to chewing up branches. This is a must own for any homeowner.

Works very well. I have an older electric model from the same company, and it's not so good. But with 2 acres electric wouldn't go where I needed it to, even though I was trying to be green. Bought this one and cuts a lot nicer, faster. Starts very easy which is really nice. Only thing is that it has some weight - which is to be expected. So you'll get a little shoulder work out - but it's fast so you don't have to hold it up as long as the electric - so balances out.

I have been using this chain saw for the last few months. It starts up right away and runs well. I have TONS of mesquite trees that I have trimmed with it. I was impressed it cut the mesquite, which is a really hard wood, so well. It did struggles a little with branches over 8 inches thick. I just had to make a couple slow cuts to get through it. I would definitely buy this again
