Saved the cost and time of replacing the entire distributor. I used 3M emblem adhesive (very thin double sided tape) to hold this in place while getting the screws started. Other reviewers are correct. You have to have patience. Very hard to hold one handed and start the screws. Trying my idea may not be a cost effective way if you have to buy the 3M product first. I happened to have a package of it and after many tries and fails I remembered the 3M tape and had the repair plate on in less than 15 minutes.

fits the distributor perfect simple easy solution instead of replacing the distributor on my 2000 chevy express van 3500 series vortec 5.7 L again this would have been my fourth distributor i will gladly pay the lower price for this bracket instead of a couple of hundred dollars (bad design by GM )

GM dsigned a CHEAP distributor housing that is highly effected by heat. the tighter your engine compartment, the worse it is! The shape is a little odd looking but also factors in total failure (broken off) of the Threaded "plastic" mounting ears. The Cap is self aligning but be careful to tighten the screws almost to tight and MAKE SURE the cap is sitting right before tightening down. PS. even the replacement caps come with instuctions for Heat Issue corrections!

When my Yukon begin to have problems starting, I replaced various electronic components. One of the issues I found was that the distributor cap is held down by two screws that had stripped out of the composite body of the distributor. I was relieved to find this repair plate - it is less expensive than an entire new distributor and much simpler to install.

Finally a piece to work for these plastic distributors. Works awesome, little hard to get screws started but run them through before install, much easier.

Worked as advertised. Previously, tab on distributor was broken, cap held on by one screw, was causing engine to stall under load. I cleaned the part and the underside of distributor followed by jb weld. Runs strong now under load. Havent had to change distributor yet so hoping will stick.

Works perfectly for stripped screw holes. Tough to screw in, just maintain your pressure and be patient with it.

Worked great fixing loose distributor cap on a 2000 blazer with 4.3.

Nice fitment, put some sticky caulk on the side that touches the dist. so if I have to change out the dist cap in the future The repair bracket will stay in place, also use the long screw towards the back (firewall) of dist. not bad to install. I removed the coil assembly for better dist. accessibility .

Amazing savior. When your friend the hulk breaks off the plastic on the distributor, this comes in to save the day.
