Easy peasy and affordable

Cheaper than products from chain auto parts store. Very easy to install. Easier if you have someone hold lift gate while installing. Quality is better than pictured (ordered product for 2003 Grand Cherokee). The only slight negative is that washers weren't included, but I just used the old washers with the new hardware. Tools needed but not included is a Torx or star driver. The ratchet driver came in handy because I was holding the lift gate with one hand and removing/installing the hardware with the other. Installation time is about 5-10 minutes.

Even though i no longer have the vehicle i got this for they worked really great.

Its better with 2 people

I should have replaced my shocks earlier, that's the only regret. Too many clunks in the head for too long before I bit the bullet and replaced these. I guess I was thinking I had to go to a mechanic to do this for me and it would be expensive. My husband and I did this in few minutes, no problem. Its better with 2 people, so one can hold up the tailgate while the other installs them. If your tailgate keeps falling down...don't wait...replace them. So worth it.

Really strong. Only had them on a week or two so can’t comment on longevity.

Soft metal on screws, but they work

One strut was very stiff and had issues positioning it but didn't give me too much trouble, they work, keep the tailgate up and aren't too hard to close. The metal on the screws is quite a bit softer than the stock ones. Used the proper sized torx bit and actually stripped one of the screws tightening it, hopefully these struts last long enough that I won't have to worry about replacing it, but a stripped screw extractor should work just fine. Just be careful when installing.

Nice treat to your old jeep

Got this for a tired but reliable 2000 Grand Cherokee. Easy install and quick fix. Gate height is roughly 6ft when open, and as a roughly 6ft human, i was able to swap this part with the gate resting on my head... Lift gate is both lifty and gatey now. Cannot confirm longevity, but for a 19 year old vehicle, that might be a matter of expectations...

Perfect replacement for Jeep rear hatch pistons

fit perfectly on my 2002 jeep grand cherokee & now the rear hatch raises on its own & actually stays up! Should have replaced the factory pistons years ago. I installed them by myself in about 30 minutes, but could do it again in about 10 now that I know what to do. The trick to installation was propping the hatch fully open with a 6' ladder then kicking the legs of the ladder in toward the jeep to get the hatch to fully open. This allowed the piston screws to line up perfectly with the mounting holes & prevented any cross threading. Fast shipping & dimensions look exactly as the OEM.

Stop getting bopped in the head

Tailgate on my Jeep Grand Cherokee kept dropping from the open upright position and bopping me in the head.
