Ranger SRA-198 is a keeper.

This is the heaviest, most solid mic that I've used for a cb radio in 4 decades in the hobby of cb and amateur radio. It appears to be very well built. The added spring at the point where the cord enters the Mic is a nice feature. The mic hanger has a hole in the top for hanging the mic from stretch cord, or you can clip it on a regular clip mount. It has a quality feel to it that matches the quality of my Galaxy transceivers. It's made in Vietnam and not china. "A plus IMO". I haven't had it long enough to give any negative feedback on this mic so as of now I'm giving it 5 stars. Not sure how it will perform long term but for now it is my most favorite hand held mic. Very nice noise cancelling mic.

Best passive and noise canceling mic!

Passive (no battery) and noise-canceling. I use two of these. One in my personal vehicle, and the other in my work truck. The noise canceling property of this mic allows me to achieve maximum modulation (mic gain) with zero clipping, distortion, or feedback on the air. I get a clear sound on my talkback. My main radio is a galaxy dx979 and it is peaked, tweaked, tuned, and aligned. You will also be happy using this with any stock radio. Works nice on ham radios or any radio with a 4-pin hook up.

Was very hesitant in ordering this mic. I've read all the reviews, watched all the YouTube mic tests and so on. I've used just about every 4 pin mic made and my favorite has always been the Diesel 360-3 noise cancelling mic. These are no longer produced and this one is pretty beat up. I broke down and ordered this mic and received it today. I must say that it sure is a throwback to the old military mics. It is very comfortable to hold and has a bit of heft to it. I installed it on my galaxy DX979 and started calling for my buddies on the air. Every one of them complemented on how clear it sounded even when running down the road with all the windows open and the stereo playing. Zero background noise and crystal clear. We installed it in my friends cobra 29 and I listened while he was driving and it has outstanding sound quality. Very happy with the purchase and am ordering 2 more, one for my base and a backup. Get one, you won't be sorry!

Best noise canceling mic on the market this thing is rock solid and heavy duty, audio is crystal clear I’m using mine on a galaxy 98vhp.... most people that complain about this mic just simply don’t know how to use it.....the lip guard is there for a reason not just looks make sure you’re getting right up on the mic when talking

I think its the best CB mic out there

Great mics, better sound and far cheaper than the RK56 has a nice heavy feel to it. I run one on a DX98VHP and one on a Stryker 655 ... Get compliments without soliciting for them on the sound of these mics

I appreciate the added weight and feel of this mic. Appears to be well constructed and the internal weight in the back may also serve as shielding? I do not get feedback when talk-back in enabled like with the stock mic. Sound quality is good, natural and it being a true noise cancelling mic in order to use it properly and be heard you must 'eat the mic' as we say. The PTT is smooth and solid feel, no rattling what soever or audible noise heard on the other end of the transmission relating to it. Definitely a keeper.

Astatic and Road King put together

I've used Astatic 636l mics for years with a Galaxy 99v, but decided to try this because of the reviews. Wow! It's like someone took the best of an Astatic and the old Road King 56 and made this. It's smaller than both, but metal instead of plastic. No squeal even with the mic gain wide open. I'm converted!

PUT THE RUBBER PAD TO YOUR TOP LIP AND TALK NORMAL it will sound great!!!

AMAZING !!! these just work , I have it on my stryker 955hp and it is amazing, my Tech at fine tune cb shop also tuned the radio to this mic, so it is even better.. make sure to PUT THE RUBBER PAD OF THE MIC ONTO YOUR LIP!!!!!!!!!!! then transmit this is how they are designed,, many buy noise canceling mics and do not use them properly,, PUT THE RUBBER PAD TO YOUR TOP LIP AND TALK NORMAL it will sound great!!!

perfect replacement mic

Great replacement mic for cb radio. The noise canceling feature blocks all but the heaviest of wind noises, but in a vehicle, with the window open and at highway speeds, works great!
