Beautiful Desk

This was quite easy to put together. Took maybe 2 hours total for one person. While directions are mostly pictures, hardware is marked as are the pieces. Take your time and don’t use a powered driver! I learned that the hard way. Even tho it clearly states not to use one. Purchased for my sons gaming center. You know, pc, multiple monitors, game system, etc. He loves it and it’s very very sturdy! It’s also very heavy! Do not try to move box alone. UPS driver helped me bring into house. Packaging was fantastic. Nothing was damaged. Very pleased with purchase.

Strong, functional, well made desk.

Purchased this desk in March 2016 for my newly renovated home office. Yes the package is quite heavy, yes there are many parts to assemble. But I was quite pleased with the construction, the clear instructions, and the overall look and function of the unit. All my parts and pieces were fine upon delivery. No broken parts or damage of any kind. A good hint is to allow yourself about 4-6 hours to properly set up. Follow the steps in proper order, and orientation of the pieces is crucial. Towards the end of the assembly process, I needed to set the lower shelf and press the plastic covers over the screws and lugs. In doing so, I needed to move the unit which weighs a significant amount. Being in my carpeted office, I simply used some of the furniture sliders I had for carpet and slid/maneuvered the unit as needed to complete it and position it. Some have suggested cutting pieces to fit that were too long, DONT do that. All are cut correctly and join nicely when completed. In conclusion, great desk, highly recommend.

Can't beat it for the money!!

Exactly what we were looking for. We took our time assembling it and had few issues - slow down when you get to the metal pieces that hold the drawer. One major complaint: the pull out drawer would NOT go together the way it was supposed to. We tried 5x to assemble the drawer and finally said screw it. For our purposes, it acually worked out for us - we eliminated the drawer and used the space to hold a PS4. There is PLENTY of table top space. Our set up includes 27" & 24" gaming monitors + two 20" computer monitors in the center of the L. Other than the drawer, the plastic pieces for cable management are an absolute joke - don't even install them. Why am I still giving this a 5-star rating? Other than small things, we paid < $170 for it, was straight forward to assemble, and is EXACTLY what we needed. You won't go wrong with this desk!

Wonderful product. Did have a small crack on the top surface.

I have to say I am really pleased with this desk. I had been looking online for weeks and hadn't found something that I liked for a decent price. This really came as a surprise and I was so excited to buy it! I was deathly afraid because a lot of reviews mention broken pieces. When I opened the box I didn't notice anything, until I flipped over the top part of the desk and realize it had a slight crack on the thin covering material (the black top). It's not incredibly noticeable, but it's definitely a little disappointing. However, the desk was pretty easy to put together (thought I did need some help when flipping it over a few times, and the box itself is really heavy). I think it fits my set up perfectly and really works well with my newly painted office! I am very pleased. I'd give this 4.5 stars simply because of the crack, but aside from that it's great.

Very happy with this desk

Very happy with this desk. The assemble was very easy, but took a little while since there is a lot of pieces. Nothing was damaged and everything came packaged safely. I would recommend this desk to anyone needing a work space in their home office.

Heavy, but Beautiful

We bought two of these desks for our home office. We have purchased several Sauder pieces before, and love the quality. These desks do take some time to assemble, as there are a LOT of pieces. It's not terribly complicated, but set aside some time do it. All of our pieces fit together perfectly, although not all of them were labeled. One of the desks has a chip on the top and the corner is smushed from transporation, but it's nothing we can't live without. These desks are HEAVY. I was able to move them into the house from the porch by myself, but it took both my husband and I to move the boxes across the carpet into the office. Overall, we love these desks. They look amazing in our office, they are a good depth, have lots of counter space, the drawer is functional and helpful, and they work for our needs. Another great purchase from Sauder!

Great desk!

I bought this desk with extreme hesitation based on other reviews but, it turned out great. It arrived packed nicely with Styrofoam around the outside of the pieces touching the box. The top piece did have a small dent but, it was the part facing the back so it didn't matter. The directions were very clear and had words and pictures...plus some pages had a picture of a video camera which mean you could log onto the manufacturers website and see a video of how to assemble that part. I put it together in a few hours by myself.

Superb quality and economical too!

I purchased this L-desk and the small table of the same design. I had high expectations because I have equipped a double office with the same brand furniture and it is great. This purchase was for a bedroom application -as a sewing desk for my wife. Let me tell you, while this is assemble-yourself furniture, it goes together very easily and looks fantastic. The drawers slide easily and can adjust for changes over time. The wood finish is durable and beutiful. Parts of this are fabricated wood, but the fittings are well engineered and evetthing tightens up very nicely. The finished product exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this to any buyer looking for economical, quality furniture.

This is a great desk and looks great in my office.

I am very happy with this desk. I didn't have any problems putting it together. I worked on it about 2 hours the night it arrived and my husband helped me with the final assembly the next day for about a hour and a half. None of the pieces were damaged. Some small pieces of trim were not labeled but it was pretty easy to figure out where they went. The desk is very substantial and looks great. I did get a tiny scratch on the top surface but as someone else suggested a quick swipe with a fine point sharpee took care of that. I don't get the people who gave the desk a poor rating based on the fact that for some reason they expected a $200.00 desk to be solid wood or not need assembled. If you want a $1,000 desk you need to pay that for it. This is a great desk for the price, It looks terrific in my office and it's very functional. I have lots of surface area, a drawer and what they call a purse shelf but what my cats call a cat shelf.

This was a bit of a pain to build, and definitely took a few hours of work. As noted in other comments, some of the pieces (like the trim) are not labeled, leaving you guessing and adding to the build time. Additionally, some of the pieces require a lot of reworking to get them lined up perfectly. However, that being said, the desk itself looks fantastic and feels pretty solid. I can't speak yet to how well it holds up after extended use (some comments note the surface wears away and scratches very easily), but so far I have no complaints and am glad I made this purchase for my home office.
