Best hand-held massager I've ever had
I've waited to leave this review because of problems previous reviewers mentioned with the massage heads breaking. I can safely say I have had no problems whatsoever. I have used the Wahl massager at least twice a day since I bought it in Oct. 2016. I have had IT band syndrome in my right leg and this massager has made a huge difference in my ability to move without pain. I'm 77 and have arthritis in my hands and, although this unit is fairly heavy, I'm able to use it easily -- it's a good design and well balanced. I have mostly used the rounder deep tissue head for my problem and it really works -- great percussion. The flat head feels wonderful for areas of broader muscle pain. I would definitely buy this product again -- I love it!

So helpful in relieving tension
Have had very tense neck and shoulder area to the point it was causing nerve broblems in my left arm. After trying chiropractors and massage for several months I bought this and it really helps get rid of the tension. I had read several reviews prior to purchasing and some said it had a cheap part that caused it to break. I have not found this to be a problem. You can adjust the intensity which is nice because I can't quite handle the highest setting on my neck area because it feels like it is rattling my entire head. I use that setting on the rest of my body though. I am a waitress and this thing got me through a 75 hour week and made me feel very refreshed.

Even my dog loves it.
Am really happy with this product. It works both on deep tissue, and surface muscle ache. I really liked the adjustable vibration control. Strangely enough, my dog (11 years old) was watching me use this. I tried it on her back legs and she loved it. Now when I take it out she waits for her turn. This product is much easier to hold than previous products that we have had.

Great
Have had this for about 4 months and use it about 2x a week. Still working great. I love this thing more than I was expecting. "Accupoint" head is my favorite and hits the deep knots well. Good cord length too. It's a little heavy for long use, but not really a problem. This didn't effect my rating but in case anyone didn't know (because I didn't know when I bought this): A percussion massager is basically like a jack hammer with vibrations. And it only "jack hammers" when it finds a hard knot/spot or if you apply enough pressure. Definitely good for a deep tissue massage.

Wow.
Wow, I love this device! I tried to cancel it a few minutes after ordering because I waited until then to read the reviews but they said it was too late to cancel. I am so glad. It came the very next morning and I thought, I will try it and send it back because I believed the bad reviews. I got it out and tried it and wow, the muscles in my lower back have never been so messaged even spending a hundred dollars for a professional. I could tell the muscles that had problems because it really hurt when I got to them. I used it everywhere I could reach which was pretty much everywhere even with my detached bicep. The handle is long enough and well weighed so my arm didn't get tired. I had such a workout that I almost felt faint. My sciatica feels better too. All I can think is the guys who broke theirs right off we're pressing way to hard for no reason. Just a little pressure is plenty for a deep muscle message. Let the machine do the work and stop trying too hard. The large round attachment is my favourite because the smaller round one kind of hurts. The other two are basically useless to me. This is well worth the money. If I have a problem with it within the 30 days, I will return it and if it breaks down after that, I will ammend this review, but for now, I am happy.

1-Year Long Term Review
As a musician, my body is prone to muscle aches and knots. Percussion/vibrating massagers are the preventive measures against costly doctor visits and debilitating conditions. This massager has been great. The long handle allows the massager to reach anywhere in the back, or any other awkward locations. It's powerful. I've rid of awful knots numerous times without a problem. However, due to the power, it does have a tendency to bounce off bones. Hardly a fault--just change the angle or location. I doubt anyone should be hitting bone, anyway. After 1.5 years of several minutes of daily use, it's kept up perfectly. While I treat it properly, it's hardly babied. It's plugged in 100% of the time, and is placed aside when it has done the job. Have since recommended it to colleagues, and none of them had any issues!

... months back and I have to say I'm very happy with it
I ordered this massager a few months back and I have to say I'm very happy with it. I've used this many times (roughly 2-3 times a week, so ~30+ times) and it has held up well. The price and value is great. It has multiple attachments and various speeds, which allow you to have more/less pressure. The nice thing about this one is when you press harder it doesn't stop (other ones get weaker or stop all together when you apply more pressure). It also doesn't vibrate your hand too much. You should give this a try, I think you will like it. Thanks for making a good massager!

you will not be disappointed. It's frighteningly powerful
If using this, achem, off label, and you're a power queen, you will not be disappointed. It's frighteningly powerful. If it isn't, yours is defective. This is NOT like a wand vibrator that you gently push on your skin. This is a beater. It's meant to pound on your muscles, and it does this well. And relentlessly. I would suggest wearing sweatpants. I have to sit on it to make it not run. On low, it's a pleasant rumbling. On high, it will knock your socks off. If you feel like wands just don't have the oomph you need, this is the thing for you. If you like something that is softer and takes its time, stick with your Hitachi -- this is a whole different animal. -- The heads are screw-on, and it has a big rubber boot right above the head. This is good because it is very hard for it to pinch your skin; Dual head thumpers usually have that problem. Compared to a 'thumper', it has slightly less 'push power'. An example of what I'm talking about: Naipo Handheld Percussion Massager Electric Dual Head Deep Tissue Massager with Heat and Interchangeable Nodes . I did not find this to be a problem, it was just as good at working out knots. I have to sit on it to stop it, so there is ample power for anyone's needs. Thumpers usually come with a somewhat more spongy head, and some are interchangeable. Dual head models are a little easier to work with one-handed, and are usually a little bit heavier. It's a matter of personal preference. The Wahl comes with 4 different heads. There's a similar model that isn't 'deep tissue'. I've used that one before too, and it seems they're identical except for the heads that come with it. Except for the "4 finger" attachment, they're all made of very hard 'impact' plastic. These heads are not the spongy kind. Be careful not to hit bone with it! It will hurt. Especially the pointy head attachment. There aren't any aftermarket head attachments offered, so what comes with it is all that can be used with it. A lot of these corded massagers have had a problem with the cord coming loose and causing a short or fire hazard. The Wahl has a very sturdy rubber connector at the base -- I don't think that will ever be a problem. Trying to use it on the upper back by yourself is a challenge -- I suggest sitting in a chair with a lot of cushioning, and then positioning the massager and leaning back into it for this. Same if you want to use it in bed on muscles. The adjustable speed/off-on is continuous like a volume knob - it's not notched. It's very easy to move and can sometimes rub over clothing and change its speed. That surprised me a few times -- I wish it were a little bit harder to move because of this. It's about as strong on low as high. I have run it up to an hour and it will get warm, but not uncomfortably so. As a theraputic massager, it will definately get the job done. The downsides: It doesn't have a heating head. That's okay for me, as I put a heating wrap on after, but some people may want that feature. The hand grip isn't the best - the plastic is a bit slippery. If it's a problem, grip wrap is easy enough to put on; If you plan on using this after a workout, you might want some.

This thing is great!
Wow this works great! My chiropractor uses the Thumper and recommended my husband and i get one but at nearly $200 I was cringing. Saw this Wahl massager and thought I’d give it a try first and if it didn’t work then I’d return it and get the other. But this this works GREAT! Only difference is the surface space but i love that this has different attachments for different areas of the body. The flat attachment feels great on my feet after a long day on them. The 4 fingered one feels great on the shoulders and upper back and the ball shaped one fits perfect in my shoulder blades. The ability to adjust the speed is nice too as you make it stronger for the back but light fir the legs and feet. So happy i tried this first!
