I should have bought this years ago and it finally got to the point where I felt that my eyes were either getting strained from soft lighting or all the lights are on and my husband can't sleep. This is great--there are 2 levels of light, I find the lowest setting works perfect for me, the other one is too bright (for me). I sometimes have this on even when the regular lights are on because it provides directed light over my Kindle. I was a little worried that it might not fit over my Kindle and its case but lo and behold--the clip is on a spring and clamps down (not too hard, just enough to stay in place) on both. Definitely recommend if you don't want to strain your eyes or if you want to read without disturbing anyone else.

Absolutely LOVE it. I ordered two...one for my laptop and one for my husband's. The light is very bright without being annoying and shining in my eyes. It has a high setting and a low setting, which is usually the setting I use. It lights up my entire keyboard and is exactly what I needed. It fits perfectly onto the top of my screen. My husband has an older laptop with a thicker screen and he didn't think it would fit but it did. I decided to go with this one which uses three AAA batteries because I did not want ot use up one of my USB ports for a light. It is absolutely perfect.

I haven't posted a review in a long time, but this definitely warrants it. I would say its the best under 20 dollar purchase I have ever made. I read a lot and I have a Nook Simple Touch ereader. I thought about upgrading to get the one with the light, but there is no reason to. Mine works perfectly and I would actually lose some features that I like, such as the side buttons and no memory card. But on to the light. Uses 3 AAA batteries. I put Eneloops rechargeables in mine. Left it on over night and woke up light still shining bright. Good stuff. Light is bright and even. I tilt mine slightly off edge to the side and there is no hot spot or halo on the screen. Just even brightness. It has two brightness settings but the lower intensity is plenty fine for me. I have no idea why I waited years to buy one. Love the light, keeps me from using a light bulb that heats up my room when reading at night! I will be posting a picture as well. Hope this review keeps you outa the dark!

This light is great for my kindle!!!! I will be buying another one. 😊

I love this light but, and this may sound crazy, it is TOO bright. I wanted to read my kindle in bed and not disturb my husband but the light was so bright, I was afraid it would wake him up. I blocked off half the light hoping that would help, but it's still, I think, too bright, although my husband said it didn't wake him up. I threw the sheet over my kindle and made a little tent so the light was blocked. The light has 2 settings, I only use the low setting. That said, I still love this light. It attaches to my Kindle tightly and doesn't encroach on the screen in any way. The flexible arm is great, will move in any direction easily, which is especially good because sometimes the light creates a glare on the screen, but easily solved by just moving the arm to a different location. I have had a LOT of clip on lights and this is easily the best one I've ever had.

This is a great book light, especially for the price. Even the low setting (there are 2) is quite adequate for reading without any other light source around. The flexible neck is well-designed, and feels like it won't self-destruct over time and use. I used this on my Kindle which also has a cover, and it stayed in place. It's small, so easy to store or take along -- but it doesn't need to be larger to do the job.

I bought this light for my Kindle keyboard because I broke the cover light and couldn't find a replacement. Overall this is a good light- it seems sturdy, I like how flexible the arm is so you can angle it in any direction and it isn't intrusive on my reading screen. There are 2 things that caused me to rate it 4 stars (more like 3.5) instead of 5. 1- there are 2 light brightness settings (which is nice) however the light is either really bright or really really bright. On a good note, if you're looking for a really bright light, this is it. For me, I read in bed so I don't need an overly bright light, it's almost hard on my eyes and reflects on my no-glare screen. Because the arm is so flexible, I get around the brightness issue by angling it past the top of my screen instead of down onto the screen-not ideal but workable. 2- My only other issue is that it is not snug on the kindle keyboard model so if your reader is thicker than this model it should be a non-issue for you. It does hold somewhat due to the rubber cushioning but if I turn a certain way it will occasionally tip off the top. Again, not terrible or a deal breaker, just wish it fit my specific reader better. Again, well constructed and good design and has proven to be very durable. I could see this being a great light for someone looking for a bright light with a slightly thicker reader model. UPDATE: I am changing my rating to 5 stars because while everything I said above is still true, I have used the light for other things and have found it REALLY useful and the batteries last forever. I also just purchased 2 more for my 6 and 8 year olds because they love to read in bed and it fits perfectly onto the slats of their headboard. The brightness of the light is perfect for them since it isn't being clipped right onto their book and its about 18 inches away and still gives them plenty of light. It's also nice that they don't have to get out of bed to turn a light off. Very happy with this product!

I've been using this for over two months on my Kindle (2015 model, non-Paperwhite). So far it's worked out very well. The two choices of light levels are adequate for me. Usually I use the brightest level, but in a dark room, sometimes it's too bright and I use the less bright level. Battery life so far is excellent and the battery compartment is easy to open and close (unlike my previous reading light). My one complaint is that it doesn't grip my Kindle tightly enough. It's not a problem while I'm reading, but if I move the Kindle around, the light tends to shift position and sometimes fall off. I could probably solve it by putting some adhesive material on the Kindle where the light grips it, but so far it hasn't been enough of a problem to try it. This light is not made exclusively for the Kindle, so I'm not knocking off any stars for the looseness. Overall it's an excellent light that I'm glad I purchased.

This is an excellent little light. Even on the lower power setting it is bright enough to read my Kindle in bed at night. It is quite light weight and trim, so it effectively adds almost no weight to my Kindle or even a book. Additionally, the battery lasts quite a long time, especially with the lower brightness setting. The "clip" does have a certain range or thickness it can work with. I have a folding cover over my Kindle. I found this item worked best when my Kindle cover was folded open and I attached the clip over both the front and back covers, but just behind (or above) my device itself. This did mean that I had to detach it each time I shutdown my Kindle in order to close the front cover, but it has worked well. As the device requires a minimum of about 1 cm or 5/16 inch of thickness to hold it in place, it was a little harder to find a good way to attach it to a hard cover book (I did not try a paperback), but I was able to carefully attach it over the back cover and a thickness of unread pages adjacent to the back cover. When I reached the last parts of the book and needed to read the pages, I simply moved the light over to the front cover with a portion of the adjacent and already read pages to make the thickness needed to hold the light in place. So, not a big problem as a work around. Overall, I really love this little light. It is better than a previous type I owned as this light does, indeed, illuminate the entire page and has a longer arcing neck to position the light where you desire. I have owned this for a few months, use it every night for a hour or so, and so far so good and no battery change yet needed.

After reading reviews on the Kindle reader, got this great little light, just in case... Well, the reader doesn't really need it, but I've found it quite useful for other things, like when I need extra light on the beading board and my portable work table (that I often use in dimly-lit areas), just to name a couple. I'll no doubt use it for the Kindle when the summer storms kick in and knock the power out (rural life, y'know...), but in the meantime it's just plain handy to have.
