One thing about being older is you often see products that come on the market and then get better or worse as time passes. When I first started using Cyanoacrylates in the 1970's, it seemed like you could almost glue anything to anything else, a truly amazing product. As time went by more people tried it, got careless with it, tried to glue things in a manner that was not the best, etc. So complaints began and one of the first things organizations do is try and protect the world's dummies from themselves, as well as others from them. Things changed, the new 'super glue' was made thicker to fill gaps and made less reactive to allow users time to work with the pieces being repaired but mostly to keep them from adhering themselves to their repair job. Super glue was no longer super, just an OK, sometimes good adhesive. Industry still had access to the original as well as improved versions, not the newer consumer versions. I had run across Starbond in the past but really didn't have an easy way to purchase it. I purchased a bottle 9 months ago and put it in the refrigerator with the intent of trying it in the future, then forgot about it for 6 months. First time I tried it, I removed it from the refrigerator, let it warm up, used it (successfully) and returned it to the refrigerator. The next three times, I used it cold with successful repairs each time, one being a repair that was tried twice with major brand super glue. This liquid is thin, like the original as I remember, and wicks into the cracks or seams of the items trying to be repaired or glued together. I have been using a q-tip to apply it, which allows me to get it right where I want it without excess running where it doesn't belong. Will it work for everything? Probably not as the available surface bonds on today's new materials do not act in the same manner as older items. But it is worth a try, just put it back in the fridge when finished.

I spent some time reading reviews and here`s the bottom line: It`s a 5-star product if you know how to use thin CA. if you don`t , stay away from it until someone shows you how. Here`s some tips: Yes it's water thin, it's suppose to be to wick into tight joints. Be aware there are at least 2 other Starbond products that are thicker. Get the right viscosity for your job. Yes it will glue skin and do it well. If it didn't you would complain it doesn't bond well. Learn how to fixture your joint and get your fingers out of the way Yes it runs all over the place and gets into areas you don't want it. ALWAYS use the applicator tip for this product, use a small drop and if you apply too much, quickly dab the excess with a cotton swab. Be ready, it runs fast Learn how to use CA accelerator if you think it`s taking too long to cure. A small puff or "whiff" is all you need, do not saturate the joint to avoid "blooming" (white film). It will bond many types of substrates but it won`t bond everything, nothing does You can extend the shelf life considerably by refrigerating between uses (don`t freeze it) If users followed these tips there would be few (if any) negative reviews

I was looking for a CA glue which would not clump up when poured on powder Inlay. This fits the bill and am completely satisfied. I mostly work with crushed stone and metal powder inlays but my results with epoxy weren't as satisfactory as I wanted them to be. Starbond is recommended if you do similar work. Just make sure you are aware of it's low viscosity.

This solution is very thin, making it ideal for wicking into tight areas. I do instrument repair, and super glue is one of those indispensable items used in so many ways. It comes nicely packaged with a cap, an extra nozzle, a pin insert for unplugging the nozzles (if they get jammed with dried glue), AND whip tips! The whip tips are especially handy for placing the glue just where you want it. No need to squeeze, just let the thin solution flow of its own, according to the angle you place the bottle. If you have an air compressor, it is pretty easy to blow out the whip tips after use. . .usable again, and again. This was my first purchase of Starbond brand. I am very happy with this product.

Another purpose for this water-thin superglue: Guitar nut slot repair, aka “the baking soda and superglue trick”. One slot was cut too deep my guitar, causing that one string to buzz. A good, cheap way to fix this is to pack the too-deep slot with baking soda, then put in a drop of this water-thin superglue, allowing it to be absorbed by the baking soda. It hardens like bone, and sticks to most nut materials. You then just file the slot to the depth you want it. It took almost longer to type this than to actually do it, and the guitar is working better than ever. This product is, as far as I can tell, identical to the stuff sold by luthier supply vendors, at a fraction of the price. It comes with several long, skinny applicators that make it perfect for getting into the narrow nut slots. I’m very happy with this purchase.

I never would have believed I'd notice a difference between CA Glues but I do. The Starbond has worked tremendously well for me needs. I mainly use it for finishing woodturning projects on my lathe, followed by a 12 stage buffing system. I also bought the Starboard accelerator and highly recommend it for woodturning projects.

I've tried many CA glues and this is by far the easiest and best. It's as thin as water and penetrates quickly and thoroughly throughout the metal powder. No more pockets of unglued powder!! I use much less of this glue than others I've tried. This 2 oz. bottle will last me awhile and is cheaper in the long run than any average store bought brand I've used. It really does dry super fast so I get more of the inlay work done in less time. And, with the whip tips, I have excellent control over where the glue goes. I took the advice of reviews I read before using it and wore nitrile gloves. That turned out to be a good decision! My fingers definitely would have been glued together. I'm very satisfied with this product and will order again!

Wow! I easily repaired a dental appliance that the dental technician said could not be fixed! It's been months now and it's better than ever and the repair is completely invisible. As thin as water and able to be perfectly and precisely placed with the little pipettes they provide, saved me the almost $1000.00 I would have had to pay for a new appliance. And the appliance is a plastic-nylon hybrid material that no other glue would work on.

In all my years of modeling, this is probably the best Thin CA I've tried so far, and probably the one I will use exclusively going forward. Not just the CA itself, which is great, but the bottle and the three possible delivery systems combined are fantastic. The extension tips prevent the super thin glue from coming out to fast and allow extremely precise placement and exact volume to a target area. Anyone who works with thin CA knows how important placement and volume can be. The CA itself is excellent as well, so the whole package is terrific. Also, the amount of actual glue per dollar far exceeds that of any other brand. It should be stored at 40C for max life, which I just put in the refrigerator when storing since I do not have children who might grab it and eat it. I would not suggest putting it anywhere that a child could potentially get hold of it, for obvious reasons. But yeah, I think I've found my exclusive Thin CA. I plan to try their medium and thick versions once I use my current supply up. I would suggest any serious RC modelers working with balsa wood give this a try.

Just got back into the RC airplane hobby and unfortunately, CA/Super/Krazy glue is not what I remember. The stuff I used in the 90s would glue instantly, ridiculously strong and you had to be careful with it. Tried using some locally storebought stuff on the first model I have gotten in decades and... meh... Wound up pulling it back apart and mixing up some 5 minute epoxy where I could use it. Looked around for something that was good and wasn't $$$ like some of the stuff from the big online hobby shops and found this. All I can really say is WOW it works just like the stuff I used to have "back in the day". The tips they include are awesome and the amount you get for the money is the best I've seen easily. This wicks into CA hinges like nobody's business and gets right into wood joints great. Even have repaired some other stuff around the house with it made of plastic/glass/porcelain and its extremely strong. Store it in the mini fridge in the basement with the beer that nobody else uses but me. Will be checking out their medium and thick stuff too but the thin is the one I use the most and, in my experience, most RC modelers use the most. If you are looking for some good CA do yourself a favor and give this stuff a try.
