I became upset when I followed all directions except I didn't let the gelato cool enough before putting it in the bucket. In frustration I stuck this in my large freezer while in operation and to my surprise it handled the 0 degree Fahrenheit temperature and over 8 hours of continuous operation in that temperature. I'm sure I mistreated this device, but I woke up to incredibly tasty ice-cream and a machine that was still working. For it handling the abuse and still operating, I give it 5 stars.

I havent had home made ice cream since i was 8 years old at my grandmas. Im 39 now My brother and I picked the peaches. Then she made the mixture. Me and my brother took turns churning. Tonight i made home made ice cream for the first time myself. My daughter stood on a stool and helped. It came out teriffic. So machine is worth every penny. In a few weeks my peaches will be ripe and were going to do it again.

a gift that keeps on giving

I bought this as a birthday gift for my stepmom, who had a old falling apart ice cream maker. She loves it, both the functionality and the look. It made great strawberry ice cream for my birthday, so it's a gift that keeps on giving (in a tasty way).

Amazing!!!

We love this ice cream maker! It is amazing. First batch of ice cream was ready in 35 minutes. The bucket is seamless!! No more places for the ice to hang up on or the paddle. Smooth as glass!!! We love it!!!

PERFECTION

We bought a brand new complete electric unit, 4 qt., because I read of many issues with the 6 qt and it's dasher not fitting correctly and therefore not working as well as the 4 qt. 1. We received it a day earlier than expected... bonus 2. Everything that was supposed to be in the box was there and in excellent brand new condition - no shipping damages. 3. I washed unit as instructed. 4. We chose to make the Easy Vanilla Ice Cream recipe listed in the included manual. We followed the easy instructions and it worked perfectly. We stopped the unit exactly at 30 min and... perfection. 5. An hour later, we made another included recipe, Easy Chocolate Ice Cream. Again, exactly 30 min later... perfection. 6. Absolutely no mess. Used the unit on my kitchen table on a small towel just in case, but no leaks what so ever. 7. Very easy clean up. No hassles, small parts, or hard to clean areas. 8. The only problem we didn't think of was containers to put the ice cream in when storing in the freezer. But that's not their fault...lol. Both were so delicious and I didn't have to wonder where it was made and if it's safe to eat. The kids (13 & 8) say they never want store bought ice cream ever again. I would HIGHLY recommend this unit to anyone and everyone.

Mine is holding up, it was a good choice.

Even though there were some bad reviews, I decided to get this one. I've made ice cream at home now 4 or 5 times, and I hauled this thing down to Florida to my mom's and made peach ice cream for her. Treat it well, and it will return the favor. I grew up turning ice cream by hand and was thrilled to get an electric one in the 80s. If you understand how they work, there is no mystery and it's pretty much fool proof.

Easy, Fun, Fell in Love!

Nothing like having an ice cream maker! My old one died, and as this one reminded me of the one my parents had when I was a kid I went for it. I love it! Just made a batch of my vegan ice cream & it came out perfectly! A friend was here while I was making it & after tasting the ice cream she started asking me all kinds of things about this maker.

Just like India!

My father in law had been talking about wanting an ice cream maker like the one they had in India. We were looking around amazon and we found this, he said order it! We did and gotta say we love it. The ice cream we made tasted just like what we had in India. When you put this in the freezer, it doesn't get icy like other ice cream products you store buy. This remains fresh and not icy. The only complain I have about this is the noise it makes. It can be pretty loud if you are trying to focus on something and we had to turn the tv volume up because it was hard to hear sometimes. Other than that I have no complaints about this. It is easy to use and assemble.

Great product plus a good laugh too!

This electric ice cream churn works great. Depending on the recipe, it churns the ice cream to a slightly firm state in about 20 minutes. I've already used it 5 times, and every time, the results were perfect. As a retired teacher, I did enjoy the one error that was made during assembly. I just hope it wasn't one of my students who put the nametag on the front.

Good reviews and glad I got this one.... so far.

Used it a few days ago for Father's Day and was so glad it worked perfectly. Not sure the manual said to add some water to the ice/salt mixture but my other ice-cream machine directions said to do that to help it turn smoother and freeze well. I always check Amazon for the best reviews and glad I got this one. Nice that it is light weight, too. It took about 40 mins to stop turning. Probably used total of 2 cups ice=cream salt during processing at about 1/2 cup as needed.
