This is a very nice hook sharpener for larger size hooks and jigs. It's a very quick way to touch up your hooks before catching the "big one."

I LOVE IT!

You may be put off by the short length of the sharpening surface. Once you get used to sharpening a knife on a rounded river rock the length of the sharpener isn't an issue. I place the index finger on the sharpener and hold the rubber handle with thumb and middle finger with my hand at the spine of the knife. You can determine the grits of the two sides because one side has one groove to sharpen fish hooks or awl. The other side has two grooves. The rubber grip on the handle end is tactile to prevent the sharpener from slipping.

Works great, sharpens hooks fast. Keeps my hooks sharp for slaying big trout. Has both a coarse and fine side. Good price.

Keeps hooks sticky sharp

This sharpener is light weight and keeps my hooks sharp. My hooks are now sharp enough to dig into my fingernail. I use it in combination with a 600/800 grit sharpener to get my hooks sticky sharp.

Very handy - Improves Hookup Ratios

Just the right size for dropping in the pocket of my pfd. A quick touch up of my hook points is easy and has helped improve my hookup ratio - especially on finess techniques like drop shots and ned rigs.

It works, it's cheap, it's compact. If you fish, put it in your tackle box.

It's easy to miss landing a few fish and start blaming hook sharpness, but I have definitely noticed an increase in success now that I pay closer attention to hook sharpness. This hook sharpener is cheap enough and effective enough I highly recommend it. If I were to lose the one I ordered I wouldn't hesitate to order another.

Necessity not accessory

It does exactly what you need it to do. I never sharpened my hooks and I had issues with hook ups. Now I always keep them sharp and I've noticed a big difference.

Good product

Used it multiple times to keep hooks nice and sharp works great for me. It is small and light great for a lanyard if you looking for something bigger choose something else.
