I have 20000 gallon in ground pool that is only 6 ft deep at its deepest. The sides are slanted so that its only 3ft deep at all the edges. I live in an area where the trees drop leaves insanely this time of year. Pool was full of leaves so I got to really give it a workout the first few days and it passed all my expectations for general leaf pickup. UPDATE ONE YEAR LATER AFTER USING THE HECK OUT OF THIS ROBOT THE VELCRO IN THE BAGS WORE OUT. I CONTACTED CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND THEY WERE WONDERFUL. GOT THROUGH QUICK TO SUPPORT, AND THEY HANDLED MY ISSUE AND ARE SENDING ME A NEW BAG. SUPPORT INFORMED ME THAT THE NEWER MODELS HAVE AN IMPROVED BAG DESIGN. THIS IS MY THIRD ROBOT AND IT IS SO MUCH BETTER AT CLEANING MY POOL THEN THE LAST TWO ROBOTS. BEFORE ROBOTS, I HAD POLARIS AND THIS IS SO MUCH CHEAPER AND WORK BETTER THEN POLARIS THAT ARE RUN BY WATER PUMPS THAT USE SO MUCH MORE POWER. THANKS TO POOL ROVER COMPANY. Pros - Relatively Price Competitive - I have another one that I bought that cost more that has already showing issues after just about a year. This one was less then I paid for that one. Very fine filter. Gets pretty much everything, including pollen silt that I'm getting this time of year. Covers the pool quite well. Note: I WAS HAVING ISSUES WITH TANGLING, BUT AFTER REVIEWING THE MANUAL I JUST HAD TO SWITCH THE PEGS ON THE WHEELS, AFTER DOING THIS I HAVE NO MORE TANGLING ISSUES. 2 Year warranty. I added another 2 years through amazon just to be safe. This is solid warranty for product like this. Some robots out there have very short warranties. Company has already emailed me to find out if I like it, so that shows me that they have to have some sort of customer support. Cons - Since bag filters so fine, you have to really spray out the bag to clean it. Takes about 5 minutes of spraying with hose with it turned inside out to really clean it out well. According to manual the power box is not waterproof. Power supply for other robot i own is waterproof. I live in area that has pop up showers all the time, so I am trying to come up with way to put something over power supply to keep dry, but something that will allow it to have enough air flow to keep it from overheating. UPDATE-IT HAS BEEN IN A FEW SHOWERS AND STILL WORKS FINE. I HAVE A BOX THING THAT I PUT OVER IT IF THERE IS RAIN EXPECTED THAT KEEPS IT DRY. One of the bags has already had the one tab that you pull apart break. No major deal and have not contacted manufacturer about fixing. I have only used it now for a few weeks, but as far as performance, I would give it 5 stars. Only lose one star over power supply. Would hate to have issues with it due to un-forecasted shower in my area. Suggestions that I would have for improvements would be waterproof power supply, and a second set of bags that are not as finely filtered so that you could let bags fill up a little more before they get so clogged up. But overall my hats off the this robot pool cleaner.

Love this pool vac! We use it in an above ground 24x5 ft pool. Run for 2 hours and it really cleans very well, even leaves after they've blown in from a storm. The collection bags are extremely easy to remove and wash off. The cord has never tangled up. Best little investment I've made in a while!

Normally I wait until a product either fails before expected, or about a year of use before reviewing, but I have to go give this one five stars already. We built our own pool a few years ago, so the filtration systems are not state of the art. The pool has a homemade sand filter, and the walls are made of cinder block. The pool is rectangular and the walls do not curve up from the bottom. This year when we filled the pool, we got too aggressive on the algae, and added too much chlorine. We have well water, which has a good bit of iron. Long story short, the acidity caused the iron to rust, turning our pool dark brown. I read a bit about the cause, the iron from well water etc. I thought about draining and refilling, but we'd have iron again and always the threat of it rusting. So, we ran this robot, for about five days in a row, eight hours a day, cleaning the filters four times a day. Each time we rinsed out a good amount of rust. Five days later, the water is clear and we're not embarrassed to invite guests again. Aside from that, this bot does a good job of keeping the bottom of the pool clean, and distributing the chlorine throughout the pool. It has saved us a lot of time and money in pool maintenance. I believe it has paid for itself in a couple of months. The only drawback I've encountered is that it does tend to get stuck in one spot of our pool, even after adjusting the wheels in several configurations.

This is awsome at picking up stuff off the bottom of the pool. Once you understand how it works and behaves its great. It does seem to have a small cycle area even when set on large pools. And just a tip, if you forget to put the filter clips back on, it will not do anything.

Does a great job. The fine mesh material of the bags really gets the tiny particles that settle out on the bottom of the pool. My pool is a vinyl above ground 18' x 4' round pool with the ring around the top that you blow up that supports the pool. Even though I love this robot, there are a couple of things about it that kinda bug me. One is that I can't leave the power box outside. At least the instructions say not to leave it out. The other thing is the swivel on the cord. I thought it was supposed to help keep the cord untangled but it's nothing more that a plastic bulb over the cord. I don't see that it does anything. The cord will get twisted very badly. I still love this robot. I hope it lasted a long time. If I have any issues with it, I will update this review.

So I debated for 3 years to get an automatic vacuum and finally spent the money to get one after last year having a lot of problems with dust and dirt/pollen and mustard algae. This is...in one word...awesome. The cord does not tangle as some say, all you have to do is just walk the cord out using the special handle, it untwists itself. No problem. The vacuum goes in the pool and covers my 15x32 oval perfectly...not so much as a bug left. The water is sparkly clear and it filters the water so much that I can turn my pool filter off every night even in the hot summer. I can get so many other things done while "Rover" does his thing. I finish my chores and enter a clear sparkling pool. It comes with two kinds of filter bags, I use the fine filter bag as most of my issue was with dirt and farm dust from the country. This allows me to use 1/2 the chemicals as before and the pool water is sparkly and evenly temperature. Any one on the fence...take my advice and get it. As for the old fashioned pole vacuum? Wont be used again, no need for it! Great customer service. I had a missing washer on the wheel and called, within 2 days it was waiting in the mailbox for me. Rover was on his way again.

We had a great year with this vacuum. It didn't get everything on the first run in my round pool, but it got a lot, including some of the flock mess that we'd been dealing with all season. On the advice of an online pool maintenance newsletter, the first day we had this I stretched the cord out straight in the sun for a few hours, and we never had any trouble with tangling. The handle on the power pack made it very easy to lift it to a table or other ledge to keep it up off the ground. And once it was accidentally left in the rain but worked just fine.

I've been taking care of my pool and buying stuff for it for several decades. In that time I've had a number of automated cleaners, so the question is how do you choose one. Note that all of them are expensive, but the range of price is large, so what do you get for more or less money. First off, my preference is strongly for the self contained corded units. I've owned the barracuda type cleaner and polaris types that are dependent on suction from your skimmer or external pump. When you most need them, when the pool is really dirty, the suction is least reliable. The hoses are also bulky and a nuisance to deal with. If you look at the range of Aquabot cleaners you will see price ranges for in ground cleaners from $300 up to $2000 and more. This unit is now my 3rd Aquabot (so yes I like them, but yes they don't last all that long). My FIRST AQUABOT was an Aquabot Turbo, probably similiar to Aquabot AB Aquabot Classic In-Ground Robotic Swimming Pool Cleaner for which I paid about $800 This was a terrific cleaner for 2 seasons. It climbed the walls and the stairs and did a great job. By the 3rd season I needed to replace treads and belts at a cost of about $200. This lasted me a another season at which time The steel braces that hold the filter bag rusted out (looks like a $3 part, but they would only sell me whole new bag assembly for a couple of hundred. Combined with a few other maintenance issues, I threw in the towel and bought ..... AQUABOT #2 an ECOJET Turbo Aquabot Ecojet Turbo for around $500. This also worked well, but did not climb walls so I did need to occasionally brush the walls, no biggie. But after 2 years this stopped working well (was very sluggish moving about). I took it to the repair place who couldn't find anything wrong. After limping through another season, threw in the towel again. AQUABOT #3 This guy for slightly less than $300 So far so good, it climbs wall (with a radius) but not stairs or walls at an angle. So it seems to work better than the $500 Ecojet worked for me. There are 2 bags in the unit, somewhat easier to takeout and clean than on the other 2 units, although after only 2 weeks the Velcro on one of the bags has come unattached and needs either to be sewed up or replaced. ( I emailed Aquabot about the defective bag and they sent me a free set of replacement bags which have been good for several months now) If you look at the various units you will see there are a several Aquabots that look very similiar (except for the colors) ...S2-40 (this unit) goes for about $300 ...S2-50 Color is yellow, has 50 ft cord instead of 40, otherwise seems to be the same but costs about $400 ...NE-3285F an orange colored unit appears to be pretty much the same for about $320 Bottom line. Don't waste your money on a high end AquaBot. The $300 model works nearly as well as the $1000 model, and will likely last as long. Even if it doesn't, its still more economical. If cost is truly irrelevant, there are better models. Update May 2014: It is a little over the one year mark and all is still good. Absolutely no problems over the past year, so I am raising my rating from 4 stars to 5. Update March 2015. Well I now know how long it lasts. It is essentially dead now. The blue lights flash when I try to use the cleaner. I believe the motor is not strong enough to handle the load now. I just order a new nearly identical unit to replace it (actually the new unit is called S2-40i ) but appears to be essentially identical and was actually a few dollars less expensive then I paid 2 years ago. Bottom line is I got 2 full season out of this. While I would have liked getting more, it did give me 2 trouble free years and the annual cost is still a lot less than any of the more expensive cleaners I've uses over the years.

I had a problem with my AquaBot one year and a week after the purchase. I called the technical support number and was asked to leave my number and they would call me back...yeah right! Well less than 15 minutes later I received a call from Steve and he was fantastic! Sure they would honor my one year warranty! He emailed me instructions to send the vacuum to the service center. I sent the unit back and it was returned to me in nine days (including a Holiday weekend) in perfect working condition! I am very pleased with my “bot” and with their great service!

I was hesitant at first but we decided to try it. This unit is great for pool start up's and everyday cleaning. The thing will suck up anything, leaves, sticks and even a few toys that our granddaughter left in the pool. This is our fourth year and It's still working great. It does not have brushes on the bottom so if your looking for something that will scrub the sides you will need to spend more. But if you are just looking for something to keep the bottom and lower sides of your pool vacuumed, this is it!
