My picky whippet will refuse most dog food, even when he likes he it he eats it and gets tired of it within a few days. I bought Victor because I was looking for a food that did not contain legumes, as they are finding they cause heart issues in some dogs. So I wanted something that did not have legumes. I honestly don't care if food is grain free or has whole grains. I just wanted to add a food that did not contain legumes, to limit what he got from some other brands that contain it. This brand had good reviews so I got a small bag. Well he likes it, and while he can get bored of it after a few days, he will continuously eat it. The company seems to also have a very good reputation and is more affordable than other brands I buy. I will continue to purchase this and will be trying some of their puppy food when I add another whippet to my pack next month.

My Australian Shepherd/blue heeler pup loves this food! We have had issues in the past with different foods upsetting her stomach! When we switched her to foods easier on her tummy she would release her anal glands because she wasn’t getting enough fiber on her food to do it naturally outside when she poos! This food has been great! No bowel or tummy issues and she has stopped releasing her glands in the house! Her coat is shiny and she looks incredibly healthy! My boyfriend uses this for his German shorthaired pointer as well! Have to be careful though! At first she got really thick! Took us a bit to figure out the perfect amount to feed her without her getting too fat LOL!

We ordered the Hi-Pro Plus because our breeder used it to feed our puppy before she arrived. She is doing well on it, and our in-the-know show dog expert says it is a staple in the show world.

My Cane Corso puppy and two adult pugs love this food. For my giant breed puppy it also has the perfect amount of protein(30%) and calcium(1.4%). Calcium/phosphorus ratio is good too(1.4/1.0). A lot of people don't realize how important this is for the larger breeds. You do NOT want the larger breeds to grow too fast. This is terrible for their joints and increases their chance of developing hip dysplasia or elbow problems. You want a steady, sustained growth for these big guys(and gals). I know some of you want them to be as big as possible, but don't worry, they will get as big as they can regardless of the rate of growth. The most important thing is that, when they do reach their full size, they are able to enjoy their life happily and pain free. I had a Rottie in the 90s that was severely dysplastic and, trust me, you don't want to see your dog suffer like that. Yes, this was before I knew about the importance of growth rate. Anyway, point is, this is the perfect dog food for you large/giant breed owners. Another plus is his poop is much more solid and consistent(pugs too)...pretty smelly, though...lol. I had them on Taste of the Wild before this and their poop was much softer(and still smelly anyway). That food also had good nutrient levels, but this seems to be better for my dogs digestion. Dog food advisor enthusiastically recommends this good and so do I.

My dog is a picky dog eater and she grazes on throughout the day, well at least she did with Taste of the Wild. After finding out that my dog throwing up multiple times a day was because of the food, I switched to Victor immediately because it has no recalls and other German Shorthaired Pointer owners rave about it. She loves this stuff and hasn’t thrown up since I switched! This is our second bag!

The price of the 5 lb bag was $7 less than Chewys! The larger sizes are much more expensive than Chewys thouh. This is kind of strange. Our 1 1/2 year old Doxie has been on it since she has been weened and likes it very much. My advice to anybody is buy a good brand of food and if your dog likes it stick with it forever! We mix in some meat for her at dinner time too. Obviously if your dog has some problems like diarrhea or very soft stools you might have to try another brand but you can buy this with confidence that this is a good product.

I have 4 dogs. They all LOVE this Victors food. I got it because the breeder of my puppy feeds it. I let my 3 older dogs try some and now they eat like I e never seen!! One of my dogs is a 3 pound Chihuahua who is picky. She gobbles this stuff down. I’ve been feeding this for 2 mos now, it seems to agree with everyone, and they all look great.

Dogs are not excited about the flavor, but then, of course they loved the junk food i was giving them before. Unlike most people, I don't freak out when my dogs don't eat right away. They will eventually eat it if they are hungry. Just let them get used to the flavor. Kids love Mac and Cheese, but won't touch their brocolli or spinach. Thats how I take it.

My golden retriever puppy, Eli and my 7 year old border collie, Bella love the Victor Select Hi-Pro Plus Formula. It was proving a challenge to feed them two different, age specific foods so this Victor formula was a great discovery. A special thanks to the previous reviewers who helped me with my decision to try this brand. I was going crazy trying to find something that met both dogs nutritional needs, as well as something they both liked. Also a brand that was not made in China. My dog's doctor is really happy with how healthy my dogs are now. Bella was diagnosed as diabetic and with a hypothyroid several months ago and we could not get her to eat any brand of dog food, but she likes Victor Select and it also meets the nutritional needs of our puppy Eli. Thanks Victor for a great product!!!

I transitioned from a "Lamb and Rice" food from a major high quality competitor to this brand after doing in depth research. This food is great so far! I feed my dogs (Brittanys) a little less than before and no weight loss. They are still super active and their coats look great. The biggest thing I notice is their flatulence is significantly reduced! The price is fair for the quality of food you get. Update- 5 months now and still great product. Dogs coats are super healthy/silky. Stool is normal. Flatulence is rare.
