Can't beat it!
I love the attachments: beaters, whisk, dough mixers and milkshake maker, but mostly I love the slow start. Really prevents making a mess. And the buttons on top are intuitive and easy to use. Very strong as well. I make a lot of mashed potatoes and these work well in the thick stages of making mashed potatoes. Definitely met my needs and my expectations. I highly recommend them.

Wonderful mixer!
I made the mistake of buying a Cuisinart HM-50 5-speed mixer, which turned out to be such a dud. I decided to get this one to replace it and there is no looking back! This is a great mixer -- versatile, easy to use, does everything well and cleans up easily. It is everything you'd want in a mixer, even mixing bread and other heavy dough. A great product with an array of useful attachments. Thanks, KitchenAid!

Hand Held Mixing at it's Best
My 40 year old KitchenAid hand held mixer (honest, 40 years old) is still alive and well, but after reading about the easy start feature on this brand new model . . . I had to have it. I absolutely love my beautiful candy apple red mixer. The easy start speed is just as special as I had hoped, I never get splashed or splatter ingredients out of the bowl like I did with my old mixer. Even though I also have a counter top KitchenAid, I grab my hand held for most of my baking needs, not only because it has a powerful 9 speed motor, but because clean up is so easy and I don't have to haul out the bigger, heavier mixer. The beaters release easily and increasing or decreasing the speed is just a simple press of the arrow buttons. The beaters are a nice heavy stainless steel and the undercarriage of the mixer also has a stainless steel plate that wipes nice and clean. The mixer also has an attached cord grabber that keeps the cord nice and neat for storing. I love everything about this mixer. I recommend it very highly.

Convenient, effective, organized, logical and safety features.
What a great product! It beats, whisks, blends and works dough. Perfect for when I'm cooking a large meal and need additional beaters and bowls from my big mixer. This is so convenient and effective, I may use it more that my heavy duty upright counter mixer. I love it! And that cute little compartmentalized bag for all the attachments is helpful in keeping up with parts. I live the cord strap that keeps cords neat and unstressed at electrical connections while stored. The on-off switch is a nice safety feature and the arrows for increase, decreased power are logical and easy to handle with one hand. An engineer thought this through when it was designed! This hand mixer just reinforced my affinity to KitchenAid products.

Nice Hand Mixer
Much lighter in weight than my old Cuisinart hand mixer that quit working after 5 years. One of the beaters finally wouldn't lock in place on that one. This mixer eems to be well made and sturdy enough, and the lighter weight is definitely a plus. I have used both the regular beaters and the dough hooks, when making bread dough. The directions indicated the dough hooks were actually intended to be used for such things as cookie dough, etc. but they did OK with my sourdough bread dough, which is not very heavy. A heavier dough I made, for French bread, was more difficult to mix and I had to switch to hand mixing about half way though the process. But, for the price and considering that it is a hand mixer, and not an expensive stand mixer, I'm very pleased with it. Love the red color, too!

We have always had good success with Kitchen Aid which drew us to this
We were looking to replace probably the last piece of kitchen (or any) equipment my wife brought to our marriage 28+ years ago. We have always had good success with Kitchen Aid which drew us to this. The multiple attachments, 9-speed capability and whisper quiet operation are great. You can use this for so many more uses than just what we were accustomed to with our previous "basic" blender. I can see this replacing our Kitchen Aid stand mixer for some recipes. Excellent choice.

Worth the Money!
I needed a new hand mixer and wanted one that can handle big jobs when needed. This one fits the bill. I do have a Kitchenaid stand mixer, which I love. This hand mixer comes with all the necessary attachments for dough and whisking up egg whites. This one won't get bogged down in a double recipe of cookie dough at Christmas time no matter how many nuts or chocolate chips you add. It works like a pro on the big jobs.

Works great on pizza dough
I have a large Kitchenaid stand mixer that was gifted to me on my wedding day. It works great but it takes up a lot of counter space in our small kitchen and I just felt it was a little overkill for my daily needs. I bought this primarily to replace my stand mixer when it came to making pizza dough and other smaller jobs here and there. We make whole wheat pizza once a week and I wanted to see if this small, easy to clean machine could handle a little bread dough. I’m so happy to say that it does! I use the dough hooks it came with and my pizza comes out great every time. My stand mixer has been collecting dust since this hand mixer came in the mail.

👍 Well balanced, strong and versatile 👍
Wow this is one powerful hand mixer for just .9 amps! Its electronically controled DC motor exhibits equal torque on all settings, so even at the lowest speed it doesn't bog down. While another reviewer complained that you have to click through the up and down arrows to adjust speed, discovered I could simply hold either button to travel back and forth between 1 and 9 on my unit, whew! Had also been a bit hesitant to purchase at first because was unfamiliar with the newer style of beater attachments with the wire loops, but found them to be a noticeable improvement over the older fashion bladed variety. For one thing they generate less friction so take less effort to stir with and don't unduly warm batters that need to stay cool prior to baking. And of course, the reduced surface area means hardly any batter clings to them when done mixing, so there's less waste and much easier clean up. Whatever newfangled stainless steel formula the manufacturer is employing seems really strong too so I'm not terribly worried about these attachments bending or breaking with use. Must confess I'd been a bit skeptical as to whether The KitchenAid would be able to mix a semi-whole wheat pizza dough but it came through like a champ on a one pound ball, which was twice as much as I needed for a thin crust recipe. Not sure what its limit might be in this regard, the dough hooks are not very long so effectively prohibits the user from overloading the motor with too large a batch. Worked really well on an eighteen muffin cranberry orange nut recipe where the chunky ingredients get mixed in last, finished product had a wonderful pull-apart quality while retaining a soft crumb. Would have been difficult to obtain similar results by hand, that's for sure. Blending rod's five spoked translucent white disk seems to be made of either nylon or polypropylene, should be quite durable. Immersion blenders, especially with mashers, might be more efficacious for puréeing, but this slim attachment will eventually get the job done. Doesn't generate much of a vortex, which is sort of a good thing in that you can fill any vessel near to the top without risk of splatter even on the highest speed (soft startup really helps too.) Long shaft reaches to the bottom of a typical 24oz tumbler. Won't produce a spectacular amount of foam in a shake, for that you'd need the whisk attachment which does generate quite a vortex, demands about 75% headroom (because contents will expand ~ 50% on their own, in addition to spinning up the sides of the mixing vessel.) Have only been using this KA a short time and while pleased with its performance thus far can't attest to its longevity — sprang for the four year protection plan just in case. Honestly it's plastic casing seems kinda flimsy and mars easily (just wiping it down with a Viva paper towel left faint marks) but on the plus side it's comfortably light in weight. Do wish it had silicone pads to rest on in the standing position though because the two tiny raised dots and one thin line the mixer depends on don't offer any impact resistance and can't keep it from sliding around on a wet countertop. Fortunately the rubbery, heavy duty power cord makes an effective brake, while left and right locking positions keep it turned out of the way no matter which side of your work area your electrical outlets might reside. Icing on the cake of course is that unlike a conventional stand mixer, this hand beater can be used over the stove, convenient for preparing those glazes and frostings that have to be heated while mixed. Perfectly balanced in the hand so attachments naturally hang straight down, makes all kinds of food prep seem effortless. So glad my ancient Oster finally bit the dust, giving me the excuse I needed to pull the trigger on this way more versatile KitchenAid! Hmmm.... Wonder why only two of the four photos I posted are showing up here now. Sorry folks!

Love It!
Had my old Hamiton Beach hand mixer for 30 years. Got used to it and didn't know anything about new hand mixers. Didn't think there had been much improvement to hand mixers until I told my daughter my mixer finally died. She suggested I get a Kitchenaid hand mixer, and sent me a video of her mixing something with it. She said she really liked the start up because the dry ingrediants don't fly all over the place. I took her advice and went all out and purchased the 9 speed model. It's well worth it. Love the attachment for bread as I use it for mixing cookie dough. It has plenty of power and love the variety of attachments. I highly recommend this product.
